Summary: This is the worst anime ever!
Review: This was one of the worst animes I have ever seen to date. If you're very religious, and consider something that takes things from Christianity and makes them into something sickening or mixed in with some other religion, then don't buy this anime series. It was offensive to me. The story wasn't that great either. I would have liked it a lot better if it were more realistic than sick. Religion shouldn't be tampered with in any way....

P.S. This is just what I say/my opinion. I didn't say it was a fact.

Summary: Explicit Content
Review: This DVD was highly recommended to me. Now, the animation isn't half bad. The fights are smart, and have incredible martial arts. But the problem is, this is a rated X movie with enough junk to ruin it. The gore isn't nearing realistic, but is rather WAY overboard. Expect buckets of blood, including gruesome scenes of a monster drinking blood from a bleeding man. Expect language, lots of it. Expect nudity, and not just a little, but even a couple rape scenes along with the nude and sex scenes. And sorry, but the story is rather shallow, and the voice acting really leaves something to be desired. This is a standard action flick, with interesting ideas, but that can't come close to saving it from all the ...it has.

Summary: The Best Anime
Review: This was the video that got me into anime. Needless to say if you've seen this title, I was hooked. This is one of the best FILMS ever made. A classic and extremely violent tale of feudal Japan following the lives of Jubei the ninja and Kagero, a female assasin he rescues whose mere touch is fatal. The action rarely slows for more than a moment with one interesting and unique character after another helping to tell the well conceived and engrossing story. Purchase this item. I dare you. Becus after you see this, anime is ur life man!

Summary: High Testosterone Anime
Review: This anime is action packed with flying samurai, ninjas, demons, and creatures of the night. There's a simple story to follow with the right amount of drama and romance(almost none). This DVD is great for any Martial Arts or Anime fans.

Summary: A Violent Love Story, A MUST Own DVD!
Review: An excellant and violent love story with great animation. A MUST own DVD. The transfer is excellant, the surround sound is even better on a good system, and the extras are a nice touch. But the reason to own this is story and quality of the animation, even girls will like this one if they give it a chance!

Summary: B-Movie
Review: Animation aside, this movie is simply a ninja B-movie. Everything is too theatrical and extreme to really stir any emotion - except maybe for the ninja woman's character. The plot isn't too inventive - and the blind ninja thing has been used to death in so many movies. As for animation, I've heard someone comparing this to Akira - but you really can't, Akira is much more fluent and detailed. Then again, maybe it's just me - I've never loved martial arts films. By the way, I think the film's use of gore simply made it a bit ridiculous - it's highly unrealistic for blood to gush out of an open wound like from a fire-hose.

Summary: Awesome...
Review: Great, creative action; Excellent artistry; Pretty much has most everything; 1 complaint: wish it was just a little longer.

Summary: Garbage occasionally dressed up nicely.
Review: This film is incoherent and at times descends into onanistic violence. The only redeeming quality of this film is that the characters are a little bit creative.

The story is utter nonsense and serves only to further the grotesque bloodbaths that for some reason are proffered to the audience. Many believe it to contain a "strong female character." Don't kid yourself, this movie is more chauvenistic than any I have seen in a long time.

If you like violence for the sake of violence, horrid translations, weak stories, and ludicrously anti-climactic endings, this film is for you. For the rest of us, it only reinforces the anime stereotype.

Summary: Puh-lease, you've gotta see this!
Review: You haven't seen this? You're kidding right? I used to show people Akira or something Miyazaki to introduce them to anime. Around 1993 I received a fan-subtitle of Jubai (Ninja Scroll), and fell in love. It's like Akira Kurosawa with mixed with ... and a bit of the ultra violence. Yeah!!

The plot and characters are thought out (at least by anime standards). The animation is beautiful. The action is as exciting as anything live action that you'll see. It's a great film to watch over and over again, so you can understand more of the political intrigue that is going on.

The basic story is of a wandering warrior who falls into a situation beyond his control. O.k., it's not the most original story, but they execute it very well. Just watch the movie. Don't rent it, because you're going to end up buying it anyway.

This movie is really violent, so if that puts you off, this film is not for you. I know animation and non-animation fans who love this film equally. The DVD looks great, and the subtitles are well paced. I can't speak for the English track, because I watch the Japanese version...but most dubs are so-so IMO.
