Summary: I dont like the games, but I like this movie!
Review: Normaly I dislike Street Fighter games, I find them to be .... But when I viewed this DVD with my friend, I was impressed. The animation is good, the action is cool, and the plot isnt dumb. If you are a SF fan, or a fan of the other SF animes, check this out.

Summary: Awsome but some bent scens
Review: It was awsome if you keep up on Street Fighter and know the people well you would understand very good. Alough it spits out radom scens that make no cence ( this only happends a few times) the DVD ver is much better than the VHS one because it shows scens in the VHS 1 that almost proves that it was orginally made in Japan but in this 1 you will have no clue on it.

Summary: "The true warrior will fight with all his might"
Review: Alpha is much deeper with the story when they introduce Ryu's Brother(who was never introduce in the game) Shun. Shun went all the way from Brazil to see his "Big Brother" and finally meet him and talking storys about their parents. Unknown to Shun both of them have the dark force in them called the "Dark Hado" which involes Akuma. Some of the Characters voices mostly sound the same and makes it funny when Ken is mocking Shun about calling Ryu big brother and Ken repeating questions such as "Why is it that you have to eat with us /sleep in here with us too? Shun would respond "cause I am his little brother". Well some of the alpha characters are in this movie; Chun Li, Sakura, Birdie, Dan, Rose and Akuma. The animation is very strong as well as the plot. But it was sad that Shun died at the end.

Summary: Boring, but with great DVD features.
Review: First off, the DVD features are awesome. The graphics on the DVD are just plain sweet. Plus, it features interviews from every voice actor, the art director, and the producer. So, what characters from the game can you look forward to seeing in the movie? Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li have the most major roles, Akuma, Sakura, Rose, Zangief, and Birdie have a fair amount of time on the screen, and Vega, Dhalsim, Dan, Adon, Rolento, Guy, and Sodom, all make brief cameos. As for the movie itself, the character designs are ugly, and Ryu's facial expressions when he's possessed by the Dark Hadou make him look like he's due for the insane asylum. Akuma looks especially menacing. Apparently Manga decided to call everyone by their English name rather than the original Japanese names, even in the subtitles, as Vega is called Balrog in Japan, and Akuma is called Gouki. Besides the name changes, the dubbing is pulled off rather well, and an enhanced audio track is offered on the dub, too. The soundtrack is orchestrated, and pretty memorable after a while. The story itself focuses on Ryu's long lost brother, Shun, who comes to visit him in Japan, and is kidnapped by the Shadowlaw organization during a tournament. Along with a bunch of other Street Fighter characters who have their own reasons, Ryu enters Shadowlaw to get his brother back. At times, Ryu is gripped with a violent, demonic force similar to Akuma's, that he tries to resist from consuming him. There is surprisingly little action in the first half of the movie, but the first fight scene and the long final battle are nice. I was greatly disappointed, however, by the fact that Ryu and Akuma never really fight. I mean, their rivalry is the basis of Street Fighter Alpha. Vega, er, M. Bison doesn't make an appearance in the movie either. Just like Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie, Street Fighter Alpha suffers from mixing a feature-length movie with an overly simplistic plot. The events in the story just don't flow smoothly enough to be an enjoyable ride. Plus, the "why do we fight?" theme in the movie is so forced and cheap. But, when packed with all sorts of features in a great looking DVD, it's still worth checking out... just not worth buying.

Review: The movie was not what I expected. Needed more action scenes with Akuma and more Arcade storyline and not someone who is out to steal data. Overall it was okay.

Review: I cannot believe I purchased this excuse for an anime. It's terrible with little to no fight sequences and a horrid storyline. The role Akuma plays is nonexistant and I cannot believe people enjoy this drivel. If you want a Street Fighter anime that will keep you interested go buy Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. That is a bit shallow on plot but at least it's interesting to watch. Other movies to consider are Ghost in the Shell (a classic), Ninja Scroll, Dark City, and if you're big into fantasy and swords try the Record of the Lodoss Wars. BUT DON'T BUY THIS!!!

Review: THE STREET FIGHTER ALPHA IS PRETTY COOL,BECAUSE IT EXPLORES THE DARK SIDE OF OUR HERO RYU.MY FRIEND RONNIE WOULD GIVE THIS MOVIE 5 STARS BUT I WOULD GIVE IT 4,IT MAY HAVE HAD COOL FIGHTING SCENES BUT THEY WERE REALLY SHORT.FOR EXAMPLE THE FIGHTING SCENE WITH VEGA AND DAN,I KNOW NO ONE WANTS TO SEE DAN,BUT COME ON WE WANT TO SEE VEGA, AND WHERE WAS SAGAT WE HEARD HIM BEING MENTIONED BUT WE NEVER SEE HIM.

Summary: The perfect Street Fighter movie....period !
Review: Street Fighter has been known as one of the bestselling games for multiple systems and one of the most played in the arcades. Years ago, people were so into Street Fighter, they had to make movies based on Street Fighter (Street Fighter the Movie was a disappointment. It didn't follow Capcom's original story) and a Street Fighter animated series on the USA Network (it got cancelled a long time ago). Only two SF movies proved to be the best ones ever created. Street Fighter II: The Animated movie and Street Fighter Alpha. Even the Street Fighter II V series came out great. Street Fighter Alpha tells us about the beginning when Ryu and Ken were still younger. Mainly it revolves around Ryu since he is affected by an evil spell known as the Dark Hadou. Akuma has been swallowed up completely swallowed up by the Dark Hadou a long time ago. Ryu is just about the only one who can stop it all. In this movie, Ryu is paired up with Ken, Chun Li, and Shun his long lost brother to attend a Street Fighting tournament held by the twisted Professor Sadler (never heard of him !). There, Ryu will do everything to break free from the Dark Hadou. In this awesome anime movie, you will experience great animation, tons of surprises, and familiar and new characters and enemies. The only known flaws on this movie are some character animations and worse, the story. Dan Hibiki's head is a bit smaller than his whole body, Akuma looks too buff, and Chun-Li is not wearing her blue suit from the Alpha series. The story is great, but somehow its not really based on Capcom's original story. Some basic SF Alpha elements are placed on this movie to make it sound more like the game's story. Still, even with those flaws, I highly reccomend this anime movie to all Street Fighter fans. You'll definently want to add this to your anime DVD collection.

Summary: A Real Downer
Review: First of all, if you like SF2 the movie or SF2 V the series, it does not mean you will like this movie at all. The animation is not near as interesting, picture Ken and Ryu with "Hobbit" feat. The story line is much more chaotic and more than a little confusing at some points. Basically Ryu is being influenced by the "dark side of the force," well the martial art equivelant to anyway. Ken is in the movie a good deal, but he really doesn't do much. As far as characters are concerned, there are not a great deal of them in the movie. Rose has an appearance and a couple of others come in and out as well. There isn't a dual story like in SF2 with Chun Li and Guile, and there really aren't any great fights between the Street Fighter Characters. The script seems pretty juvinile as well, non of the characters seem to have anything interesting to say! Also, there is light reference to Akuma in the movie but don't get your hopes up, Akuma is hardly in it. Why two stars? Well, the animation may not be so bad if don't compare it to the rest of the Street Fighter Series. Fair or not, I am comparing this movie to the others in the the street fighter series. It didn't measure up. Rent before you buy it, it is your best bet.
