Summary: Amazingly Good
Review: Batman must face a new evil as a mysterious mass murderer comes to Gatham City as the Joker begins a crime spree of his own, and a long lost lover of Bruce Wayne's returns into his life. To make matters worse the police believe that Batman is the killer, and are trying to hunt him down.

As good as this animated theatrical version of the dark knight is, it is one of the most violent Batman movies ever made.

Summary: This movie (especially Joker) is absolutely awesome!
Review: The movie, Mask of the Phantasm, is very cool. Bruce Wayne, rejoined with his girlfriend Andrea Beaumont, is in for a bit of a surprise when mob leaders start getting killed. Worse, the Dark Knight is to blame. Batman, Gotham's once beloved hero, is getting pretty bad press. To top it off, the Joker seems to be involved. Can both Bruce Wayne and the Batman find time enough to love Andrea and defeat crime before he snaps? Why is Andrea's family having so much trouble? And why are the mob bosses being taken out by someone- or something? With hilarious practical jokes by Joker, voiced by Mark Hamil, and clever gadgets and doohickeys from the Dark Knight, this movie deserves a high rating.

Review: one of the best batmans ever

Summary: The only Batman movie that does justice to the comic.
Review: For all of you who are dissapointed in the Batman movies that have been released, you are not alone. This movie does not focus on who plays Batman, who does the songs, and who plays his girlfriend. This story is about Bruce Wayne, his first romance and his decision about what is more important, stopping crime or being in love. It involves flashbacks, stories told from character's points of view, and switches back to modern day. A new character shows up calling itself "The Phantasm" and is a vigalante, killing mob bosses. After one such episode witnesses report that they think Batman is the one to blame. Can Batman clear his name? I absolutely loved this movie, fantastic animation, great voice acting (particularly Mark Hamel as The Joker), and an intriging story.

Summary: Great gothic type music for the best Batman film to date.
Review: The quality of this music is rather high in MHO. The gothic approach that it takes really puts you in the 'Gotham' mode, dark and forboding. It's what you would expect of a Batman type music, vs lets say Superman who would be all noble and heroic. If the non-animated films had as high of a quality as the music only of this film, well lets just say they'd be in my collection now. Also it makes for nice background music while you have supper.

Summary: A must see for anyone that likes great, deep stories
Review: This is a spinoff from the batman cartoon series. It involves action, mystery, romance, and deep, deep character development. If you thought animation was just for kids, you haven't watched this movie.

Summary: The closest thing to the real thing!
Review: Batman's universe is complicated, as much as any other extracted from comic books. However, most of his adventures that went into wide screen are dull or boring, portraying nothing else but some nice action sequences. In this film, however, Batman appears to the eye both as a human being, and the dark hero he really is: someone inmersed in a deep pain that never stops, but only gets eased when confronted with his decision of becoming what he is. Excelent plot, and great dialogues, not forgeting a dark soundtrack, make this the best Batman movie ever.

Summary: The best Batman movie to date!
Review: This is the best Batman movie, hands down. It offers action/adventure, plot, and thick character development. Truely, the most overlooked movie in our time. Too bad people still look at cartoons as being something just for children. If you don't believe me, watch the movie and then say that it was just a cartoon. The only person that I know that did not LOVE it says "Reading a book is too difficult". End of discussion.

Summary: Subtle.
Review: I don't know how many will agree with me, but I consider this CD as one of the best scores for an animated film. While this soundtrack is not up to par with Elfman's Batman scores, it is considerably better than Goldenthal's Batman Forever. What we got here, is the darkly heroic Batman theme of the two movies in a different arrangement, and various tracks varying from sadness, like Birth of Batman, to superb action cues (Phantasm and Joker Fight), and decent romantic ones (First Love). All in all, this is a good soundtrack and worth byuing if you are collecting animation soundtracks. Personally, I don't think that Disney's animated features had better music than this. It is a score that would listen well in a live action film.

Summary: Great cartoon film that rivals the live action films....
Review: Many people have seen Batman: the animated series. Well, this movie lives up to that shows potential! Over 3 times as long as the shows length, this gives more time for storytelling and action. What makes this movie great, is the way it tells Bruce Wayne's story about his love for a girl in flashbacks, while connecting that story to the present. A mysterious phantasm is in Gotham city killing off mob bosses. The more Batman investigates, the more he realizes that all the deaths are connected. This movie has great stuff of the origin of the batman suit, as well as Joker's presence in the mob. My non-liking-cartoon family watched this film, and loved it. I highly recommend buying this film. I bought it new for under $10.00 Great buy!!!!1
