Summary: You would have to be CRAZY to have not seen this!
Review: This is truely a spectacular anime. The animation is amazing and the plot is excellient. In most anime, the plot is basically the same thing. It's either, a futeristic kind of thing with "robots" or there's the karate kind like Street Fighter and DBZ. Or, there's the magic kind of anime such as X and Rayearth. Ghost in the Shell is original as you can get. You can tell that someone sat on their butt's for a very LONG time, coming up with the plot. You have to be a VERY critical person to dislike this movie. It's the Titanic of anime, except there's not as much romance. Or better yet,it's the Matrix of anime.

Summary: One of the best anime movies I have seen
Review: It's very unique, no anime movies I have seen can compare to it. If you are looking for an all around action cartoon like Ninja Scroll or Akira, then you might not like this. This cartoon is a piece of art when it comes down to animation and it also has a great story. I don't think the story is too complicated to understand, but you might have to concentrate more than usual. I wish I could tell you what kind of movie you could compare it to but unfortunatly I can't, it's unique. I would highly recommend this movie...

Summary: The real deal...
Review: If you like Pokepuke, then don't bother buying this. Ghost in the Shell is an original, thought-provoking work of art. It is probably one of the best Anime films ever made. The fantastic story coupled with the amazing visuals will blow you away.

Summary: the single best anime dvd to own
Review: Of all the animes that you can own currently this would be my first pick. It has more plot than "Ninja Scroll" and more action than "Perfect Blue". It is not as depressing as "grave of the fireflies", preachy as "princess mononoke" orunavailable as "Akira." It is a one-shot unlike cowboy "beebop" or "lain" and will not require all of your money. So since these are all my other favorites vanquished, how can I rate it less than a 5? The excellent battle scenes and cool philip dick-esque plot make this purchase a must for those wanting any anime.

Summary: Best animation ever, but too hard to follow
Review: I couldn't finish this movie. It was just waaay too deep in technobabble. The animation is second-to-none, and the voice acting is superb, but that's about it. The story is impossible to follow or understand, especially if you are reading subtitles. This movie is only for the hard-core techno-proficient anime fans.

Summary: Brilliant, The Second greatist anime of all time!!!
Review: in 1995, Art house audiences and critics embraced this amazing japanese animated film which is unseen like no other. The story is set in the year 20029 in Tokyo, a Female Cyborg named Kusangai goes after a infamous mystery hacker known as The Puppet master.

Dazzeling, enjoyable, smart and action packed at the same time. Fans of " Akira" should own this movie.

Recommendations: Akira, Ninja Scroll, Total Recall, Robocop, The Fifth Element, Judge Dread, The Matrix, Rock and Rule, and Blade Runner.

Summary: Of the best anime films out there
Review: This is it, one of the best science fiction Anime films that was ever made. Following a plot line and carrying a message similar to that of "Blade Runner", Ghost in the Shell features good script, plot, art, and cultural cross over experience.

Summary: Overrated, boring, a huge disappointment
Review: Ghost in the Shell: it's been called the next Akira, and one of the best anime films of all time. Well, I'm a huge anime fan, and I couldn't stand this movie. My god, was it ever BORING! I swear, I fell asleep watching this. But to be fair, the DVD does have some good special features. But please, PLEASE, view it before you buy it.

Summary: A "Must Have" for your DVD Collection
Review: The art in the DVD is breathtaking - clear sharp images, awesome soundtrack. If you enjoy anime, this is a MUST for your DVD collection. Be sure to watch it as it should be seen, with the native language spoken and English subtitles. Captivating plot, though watch this one without interruptions, you miss a few minutes and you won't know what's going on. This is my favorite anime movie - illustration and soundtrack A+.

Summary: What was Manga thinking of?....
Review: I knew about this film when, i was reading a magazine called Cinemania, and it said that this film it's considered one of the best anime films of all time, so then i gotted to a Best Buy store broughted the DVD,WHOA!, i was blown away, the film it's incredibly smart, great philosophical dialouge, great animation, great plot, well i saw the japanese version first, and when i saw the english dub, UGGH!, Manga has never done such terribly dubbing before, it maded the film look like a child common cartoon, and it also the dubbing made it loose it's power and being boring, so then please, please see the japanese version, the only thing that was not bad of the english dubbing was well, the song at ending credits of U2, but Manga maded a mistake by putting it on the japanese ending credits, when it was really a quite calmy/misterious song by Kenji Kawai, in the scene where we see how people are working to, to, well i cannot tell ya that, it would be a definetive spoiler, also i want to tell you that don't think that the movie was bad, because you didn't understand it, well remeber what Roger Ebert said about it it said "Unusally Intelligent and Challenging Science Fiction AIMED AT SMART AUDIENCES", well you have to see it, i also strongly recommend you "Princess Mononoke", and "The Castle of Cagliostro" (The Dubbing of Manga in Cagliostro, it's not as horrible as other dubbing they had made).
