Summary: Disappointed after all the hype
Review: I was hooked by this movie last summer when I was the trailer before Star Wars Episode 1, and after a year of waiting I couldn't wait to see it. I was first off disappointed that this movie was your standard pen and paper animation and not cgi, which the trailer led me to believe. Also, the special effects were a real let down, there were some scenes very well done, but many others that looked like they were quickly slapped together. I don't recommend buying this movie, just rent it first to see if its turns your fancy. For me I didn't like it at all.

Summary: An entertaining ride with a few bumps
Review: Titan A.E. had a very bumpy road to completion. It went through several directors and went in several different directions . Original to be a completly CG movie Fox Animation went over buget and brought in Don Bluth to do the rest of the work. You can see how the different directors tryed to take it in different directions as far as story telling goes. It also cost a pretty penny, 75 million, but only brought back about 25 whitch led to Fox Animation closing and the president of Fox to retire. Over all an entertaining movie that fans of anime and sci-fi will enjoy. Voice acting ranges from very good (Bill Pullman) to poor (Drew Barrymore). A very cool ending too.

Summary: the story is a paradox
Review: the movie started off well, with the scene when the earth blew up. i thought that was really cool. the drej actually looked like they would be almost invincible, but they aren't. i actually felt emotion when the movie started. but this movie lacks a lot of things, and if you really think about it, is a paradox. when we actually see the drej on the attack, we learn that they are pretty easy to kill. i mean the creatures in "Aliens" were tougher than these pieces of energy. you just shoot them and they blow up. it makes you wonder why we were so afraid of them in the first place. the paradox in the story lies in the titan itself. the drej want to destroy the humans because they have the titan AE. the titan AE was built to build another planet when the drej decide to destroy the humans. my question is simply this, if the humans didn't build the titan in the first place, would the drej really want to kill the humans? and if the drej are so easy to kill, why couldn't we just fight them in the first place, and not flee our mother planet? without these kinds of paradoxes the movie was pretty good. but these paradoxes make the movie never even get off the ground.

Summary: Saw it three times in the theater
Review: It's a crying shame that this movie only made up 24 million dollars of its 90 million dollar budget in its short theater run, but I am so delighted that we don't have to wait long for the DVD.Titan A.E. has some of the most imaginative, beautiful visuals I have ever, ever, ever seen. Sweeping space scenes simply immerse you in this well-crafted, dark universe. All this set to a really great soundtrack produced entirely for the movie. It's the animated space opera for which I've been waiting for a long time, and I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who is hungry for a good story with an INCREDIBLE amount of duly impressive, hauntingly brilliant CGI work.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: A cool experiment, blending traditionally drawn animation w/ the latest & greatest CGI. Only problem is that the drawn stuff looks pretty bland in comparison at times. The CGI is incredible - maybe more believable than in other movies because one can accept a lot more, knowing that it's intended to be animated, rather than pose as reality. It's a fun & harmless (with some violence that may be tough for the youngest viewers - definitely PG13) story; nothing too complicated & easy to follow. The voices, on the whole, were adequate with the exception of Leguizamo, who's character & voice virtually made the show. Give it a shot!

Summary: Space Trash
Review: What a load of junk. Unlike the other reviewers, I found this movie to be an abysmal waste. The special effects, while occasionally interesting, seem stilted and the animation seemed rather choppy at times. All the characters have a Disney look, even the aliens. Added to that you have an episodic script (which is what you get when more than twelve people work on a script) and some pretty stupid dialogue. Ultimately nothing can save it seeing that the effects will lack that big-screen dazzle. Maybe little kids will like it, but any viewer 12 and older should rent this stinker before even considering a purchase.

Review: Never mentally fell asleep in a movie as quick as I did with this movie. Talk about a "look what we can do film" Story was okie I guess, just glad this is the last film that this animation studio will be releasing....good bye bad rubish!

Summary: TITANic A.E
Review: Titan A.E is the best full feature animation i have ever seen. It combines stunning cartoon art work with state of the art computer grapic technology. Every character is unique and color full but my favorite one is the small green scientist with the specs. The film is about one boys fight against the dregg(the alien species that destroys earth). His quest to find the TITAN!!!!!! before the dregg. Why bother i hear you ask. Well because the Titan has the power to..................NOT. you think im going to spoil the ending for you. Oh okay heres a clue BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Sci-Fi's Greatest Hits All in One Movie
Review: "Titan A.E." is one of the top ten biggest cinematic disappointments ever made. For all the hype that it got, especially being trailered before "Star Wars Episode I" last year, it really fell short of my personal expectations. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting "Akira" from this film but I was expecting something on the original side. Anyone who knows movies can tell you that "Titan A.E." ripped off (or overzealously paid homage to, depending on your point of view) just about every science fiction film made since 1968. I was able to pick off references to all four "Star Wars" films, at least two "Star Trek" films, "2001", and "Tron" to name a few. I haven't seen such a blatant rip-off of standouts of a particular genre since "Drop Zone" with Wesley Snipes. The one strength the film had was its animation. By no means was it the best I've ever seen but it was interesting enough to watch the fusion between traditional and computer animation. Not to mention the design of the film itself was great but not enough for me to recommend this film. If you're in the mood for good sci-fi, don't bother with "Titan A.E." Just check out... well, anything else.

Summary: You have to definately see this great movie!
Review: This movie will be a standard for film making of animations. I think this movie is the best movie I've seen this year, far past Dinosaur and Gladiator. I'm not saying that the two latter flics were not good, but Titan A.E. was so good that it got me mesmerized for the whole 90 minutes of so. The sound is another area that should be mentioned. If you want terrific sounds, go see this in the theaters because it won't be mimicked with your home theater ever... the theaters have vast space which contributes to a richer dolby digital surround environment. This is a MUST get dvd when it comes out. It should be a masterpiece to keep!
