Review: "Stuart Little," from E.B. White's novel of the same name, is a family treat that kids will enjoy that won't bore grownups. Stuart lives at the orphanage but he's different than the other boys and girls; you see, he's . . . little. He's a mouse. And as voiced by Michael J. Fox he's a most charming and beguiling mouse indeed. When Stuart's parents get him home he has to contend with an indifferent older brother (who wanted a human brother) and a downright hostile house cat, Snowbell (snidely voiced by Nathan Lane). The plot will separate Stuart from his adoptive family, but through pluck and daring Stuart will be reunited with the Littles by picture's end. The special effects are simply amazing. Everything from the cut of Stuart's sport jacket to the vroom of his Buick roadster come across as absolutely authentic. The audience is treated to a curb's-eye-view of Manhattan like none other; it's impossible not to feel sympathy for the courageous mouse. Let's hear it for computer animation! And for good stories like "Stuart Little"!

Review: This is a funny movie. It is a kids movie. This one of those movie tha seams a little dumb but that is from an adult point of view. It is funny from a childs view though. This is one worth its money.

Summary: Let your imagination go with this film...
Review: I watched this movie for the first time at my mother's house last month, and I thought it was a wonderful and charming movie for children of all ages, and for adults as well. It is important to remember while viewing this movie that it is a FANTASY, and it shouldn't be over-analyzed. This is a world where a loving human family can adopt a sweet little talking mouse as their son, so anyone making the argument that there were some unbelievable aspects to this film isn't really making much of an argument! Also, I do not think this movie will scare adopted children because it has a very positive message about adoption: You don't have to be biologically related, or look the same, or be able to do the same things as your mom, dad, or brothers and sisters in order to be family. Family is about love and a feeling of belonging. Stuart learns this when he spends some time with other mice for awhile and realizes he wants to be with his human family because he belongs with them. So, all in all, I would strongly suggest this film to anyone looking for a sweet family movie, or one with stunning special effects and some funny moments adults can enjoy. It does have a message, it is believable in its own right, and it shouldn't scare kids, adopted or not.

Summary: cute movie, not so cute language
Review: I rented the movie just to be sure that we really wanted to own it, and boy was I ever glad we only rented. The entire thing was great, with one exception. There was a lot of unnecessary swearing throughout the entire movie that I don't think kids need to hear. I have a three yr old who repeats everything and the word "damn" is not one of those things I want to hear from him over and over. Due to this fact, we've decided not to buy the movie.I thought this was a family movie, but apparently I was wrong. I don't know what consitutes a PG rating, but my guess it is a certain amount of swearing. Sad to hear it has to be that way.

Summary: A somewhat charming movie.
Review: This movie does its job. It entertains the 4-10 year old viewer. My children enjoyed watching this movie; however, I don't foresee it becoming one of their favorites. The story line drags too much and the characters are too bland. The talking animals lack the wit of other movie and TV animals, notably the animals in Homeward Bound and the cat, Salem, in the TGIF Sabrina TV series. My youngest says that the outtakes are the best part of the Stuart Little DVD. Because my children had read the novel by E.B. White, they were disappointed by the changes in the story. In sum, this movie comes up OK. Oh, one special note---the special effects are great. Watch Stuart Little on a rainy Saturday afternoon when you have nothing better to do.

Review: As the movie presents, Stuart Little is a fairy tale. It's a fairy tale of ideal mother, ideal father, ideal sons -- ideal family -- but a not-so-ideal adoption system. So ideal that it should exist only in a fairy tale, and it does. Cool! Don't mix up the ideal and the reality (if reality exists).

Summary: An alternative to Prozac...
Review: ...and I mean that as a compliment. Call me crazy, but I like this movie. Sure, it has little to nothing in common with the book of the same name (the director even admitted it in his commentary) and sure the plot must take enormous leaps in logic in order to work but hey, that's its charm. This is a charming film, and it's so sweet and placid and cute that I just like to put it on and enjoy the bright colors and M.J.Fox's wonderfully earnest vocal performance. Plus, the animation of Stuart & the cats is nothing short of brilliant.

Summary: Get the fullscreen version
Review: This is a very good movie especially for kids. You will be amazed of how real this little mouse seems. If you have a normal TV and don't want the annoying black bars at the top and bottom get the fullscreen version. In the widescreen version you loose image at the top and bottom screen when compared to the full screen. Your kids will appreciate it. Color and quality are superb.
