Review: (A question to any one that can answer (roadwarriior) what the hell happened at the end what is the so called hint in the movie of g.c.c.attack. If any one can answer my question email me at Tapout46@yahoo.com thx/)

The movie itself was relativly good. Given the technology at the time the graphics were and are very nice clean cut, sharp so to speak. Its the last chapter to the original gundam. It has most of th charachters from the previouse movies/episodes. Like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable who is now the captain , ruler of the NEO-Zeon. Basacily chars is trying to destroy the eath for reasons i wont give away and now much older Amuro is trying to stop him. The finally battle begins between the two enemys who surrvies might decied the fate of earth.

Its a fun movie to watch i can say that i myself have watched it more then once the replay value is great

Summary: THE Mech movie!
Review: 1979-1993 or so was probably the Golden Era of the Mobile Suit Gundam Franchise, (Not to say I do not like the ones beyond 1993's "Victory Gundam.) in that time the all time classic "Mobile Suit Gundam" and the dark sequal "Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeta" and its Sequal "Mobile Suit ZZ (Double Zeta) Gundam" came out.

Following right behind the 47 (Or so) episode series "ZZ Gundam" the epic motion picture "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counter Attack" came out. I personally think no Mech anime fan should go without the Classic Gundam and this film. The motion picture is really a 2 and a half hour space battle, but considering the film is about as long as 4 or 5 episodes they managed to devolop characters in that time, such as Gyunei, who tries to win the affection of Quess Pyra, who craves a father figure so she joins the Neo Zeon. At times CCA seems more like a space drama then a mech anime, how ever CCA has the emotional and great fight scenes to go with it, now while the fight does not seem as "full scale" as some of the fight scenes in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" the fights do carry them selves very well, but they do not get to the point where the entire movie is just fight. As I mentiond characters before I must state that the rivalry between Char Aznable and Amuro Rei is amazing and you get a real sense of conflict between the two. The music helps a lot! It makes the fight scenese truley amazing, and I almost cried at the end when the amazing track "Beyond the Time" began to play.

The DVD features I love, there is a Biblography of all the novels anime and other things Tomino, the creator of the franchise has worked on, the DVD comes with a slip cover, and a fancy booklet with the history of the events leading up to the film.

Would I suguest this? Of course, how ever I think that it may be best to watch Mobile Suit Gundam, and maybe Zeta Gundam before this, just so you can get a real sense of the existing characters.

Summary: New Type
Review: A movie with truly dazling background effects and the dubbing is beyond awasome.A romantic action/adventure outter space movie set in the future.
Amuro and Quest are two of the main characters .Quest is a young and some what bratty, and spoiled girl(in my opion),who like Amuro is a New Type. A person who is sensitive to other's feelings, and can vision ones next moves in battels.Though there is more to it then that of cores.
Noah Bright's own son Hathaway is in the exciting movie who tries to befriend Quest after twist of faith meting Quest and the Vice Forigen Minister. He is given the chance of going on words to space thanks to him but not his mother and younger sister and ends up being on the same space ship that his father Caption Noah Bright .
Now enemies Char insites trying to freez the earth and try to put it under a blanket of sleep. So that humanity can become the next involved step towards a better race.
But who will win this battel?Char and Quest? Are Amuro and Noah Bright and the rest of the crew?

Summary: The Best Mecha Movie of the 80's
Review: After the success of the Gundam movies, Yoshiyuki Tomino moved onto to two sequels series, Gundam Z and ZZ. Finally, after the all this time, Tomino decided it was time for Amuro and Char's last mission in a full-length Gundam movie. The fans went wild.

The story takes off in the year UC 0093. Without any explanation at this time, Char is now the leader of Neo Zeon and plans to send the Earth into a nuclear winter as well as defeat his long-time nemesis, Amuro. But with many old and new characters mixed up in this battle, it won't be pretty.

CHARACTERS
Amuro: Returning to the battlefield, now being a responsible adult.
Char: Conferming his hatred when on Earth, he is the new leader of Neo Zeon.
Bright Noa: The former captain of the White Base is still in action.
Mirai: The wife of Bright Noa now and mother of two children.
Hathaway: Bright's son who ventures out into space.
Quess: A cocky rich daughter who runs off with Neo Zeon.
Gyunei: Char's pupil with Newtype abilities.
Cameron: Mirai's ex-fiance who is now works for the economy.
Lalah Sune: Despite being dead, her ghost still haunts the dreams of Amuro and Char.

The animation for a 1980's film is top notch. The funnels moves about at an insane pace battling each other across the screen. Its a marvel to witness. What this film tried to do was cram as much content and action as it could into two hours and they did a great job at that. The original voice actors from the English version of the TV series make their debut once again. They all do a relatively good job and are almost on par with the Japanese cast.

The audio is quite impressive as well. You get both language tracks in either 2.0 or 5.1 Dolby. An interesting note is that the Japanese track has not been remixed as it was with the three Gundam movies. This marks as the first Tomino Gundam feature not to have been tampered with so go nuts. Sadly, the English track falls back on all those sounds you heard in the remix versions of Gundam.

The extras hold up pretty well, but aren't really groundbreaking. There are two theatrical trailers for the movie, but without it being in widescreen form, you feel you've lost something. The other extra is the Gundam model music video which shows how models are put into production. Not all that fun, but still informative. The last extra is a filmography of all of Tomino's works which is nice if you haven't seen it yet.

Overall, Char's Counterattack ended up being everything I hoped it would. Raging Newtypes battling each other furiously in mobile suits. I couldn't ask for better than this.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: As the legendary rivalry between Amuro Ray and Char Asanable respark in this legendary movie, The people are sure to get what they want. After aiding the AEUG (Mobile Suit Z Gundam) The great Zeon ace "Red Comet" returns to the enemy and now with an even more devious scheme. After months of fighting the Earth Federation's Londo Bell Unit, Neo Zeon has decided to take controll of the Asteroid Axis. Having just dropped the storage asteroid "Fifth Luna" On the earth, the final blow is about to be struck. They have moved the Federation forces away from Axis, and have now begun their advance to set the earth into a nuculear winter. Also, the true feelings of Char reveal themselves finally in this, what i'm proud to call, Anime Epic. I extremely reccomend this movie to any Anime lover, Mecha lover, Gundam lover or even James Cameron.(About three people will get that joke.) Will Char slam the asteroid into the earth? Who will win? Who will lose? Who.....will survive?

Summary: Satisfying; gorgeous battles; lots of fun
Review: Bust open a six-pack and invite over your anime-nerd friends! This 1988 movie is one of the better installments of Gundam's epic 'Universal Century' storyline, which is the continuity that began with the original series, _Mobile Suit Gundam_ (1979).

(The widely-exposed series _Gundam Wing_ on Cartoon Network is an alternate storyline that has no connection to the Universal Century shows. Wing is not without its charms, but older fans like me tend to regard the deadlier, more adult UC shows as "real" Gundam.)

Char's Counterattack memorably ends the main story arc of the conflict between Earth and the colonies, and between hero Amuro Ray and "villain" Char Aznable. The animation looks great and the cinematography is quite spectacular, particularly for the time. The familiar Gundam characters (Amuro, Char, Bright) are all shown to good effect here. For American audiences it's a nice change to watch the seasoned, tough, 29-year-old Lt. Amuro piloting the Gundam in this flick, instead of the neophyte teenage heroes in many of the other installments.

That reminds me, this movie's mobile suit designs are personal favorites. Very sleek and stylish, but somewhat more restrained than the ridiculously flanged-out, semi-whorish transformable designs in the previous series, _Gundam ZZ_ (1986-7). Love that RX-93 Nu Gundam, and Char's red Sazabi.

I remember when I was a teenaged fanboy in the late 80s and early 90s, scrambling through obscure non-English-language catalogs to find something, anything relating to the "new full length Gundam movie about Char!" that I had heard was out in Japan. Hard to believe I now have it on DVD with subtitles. (By the way, the Japanese voice actors are much better. I would recommend going with the Japanese audio + subtitles even if you don't speak Japanese, as I don't.)

So why only four stars for this movie, which is like a Fourth of July fireworks show for Gundam geeks? Well, mainly due to the character Quess Paraya. She is annoying, and she features too prominently in several of the movie's subplots. C'mon. If they're going to have half the male characters in the movie going out of their way to impress a female character, they should at least make her an actual bombshell, preferably with an interesting personality. Someone like the haunting Four Murasame, from 1985's Zeta Gundam, in my view the best Gundam series ever.

Summary: The best Gundam movie ever!
Review: Char's counter attack is the best Gundam movie. It was originaly released in Japan nearly 15 years ago, but this movie is really the best of all Gundam movies ever made. If you love the first Gundam, you don't have to think twice! Just go and get this movie.

The only thing is that you should see Z Gundam and ZZ Gundam series to get better understanding of what happened between Amuro and Char after the one year war. And I know Z and ZZ haven't been released in US. Even if you haven't seen these two series, I'm sure you'll enjoy this movie. I actually hadn't seen Z or ZZ, when I first saw this movie in Japan, but I liked this movie and was excited about seeing grown-up Amuro piloting the coolest Gundam and Char still piloting a red mobile-suites. And a few years later, I had a chance to watch Z and ZZ. Then things made more sence to me. This DVD also has a little booklet, which explains a little bit about what happened after 0083. It'll help but it doen't spoil Z and ZZ.

When Z and ZZ are released in US, you'll go "Yes, this is what Char was talking about in Char's counter attack!" And you'll see this movie again with the knowledge of Z and ZZ and you'll enjoy it again just like I did! So, don't worry so much about Z and ZZ right now, this movie itself is worth for your Gundam collection anyway!!

This movie won't disappoint Gundam fans!

By the way, some characters from Z and ZZ also appear in 0083 series. Haman, who Char mentioned in this movie appears in 0083 volume 3, she has pink hair and speaks a few words in Axis. Jamitov, the founder of Titans from Z Gundam appears in 0083 volume 4. And also, Bask, one of the most important Titans' person from Z Gundam appears in 0083 volume 4. He is in charge of the Solar-system and wears wired glasses. He also gives order to fire the Solar-system at Uraki's Gundam and Neue Ziel. His cruel character in 0083 is also seen in Z gundam.

Summary: Gundam that goes down smooth.
Review: Char's Counterattack is a masterpiece of anime, considering the age of the animation in it. It serves as the conclusion for Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. The characters and mecha are well made, and the ending is unbelievable. Can't tell you what it is, you have to find out. See it!
