When 21-year-old nerd Akira Takaoka buys a new computer from a shady dealer, he gets model #2198, rather than #9821. So instead of an ordinary personal computer, he gets a voluptuous "biomechanical" female. This three-part OVA shares the premise of Chobits and Steel Angel Kurumi, but pushes it much further. Akira has to have sex with Mimi regularly to expand her memory and keep her functioning. She needs regular upgrades, especially when she's battling the NAC sisters, American computers fighting to take over the Japanese electronics market. Because Akira conceals a heart of gold beneath his hysterical exterior, all the computers want him for their master--which puts a strain on his... resources. Sexist, silly, and cheerfully vulgar, I Dream of Mimi will delight hormonal teenage boys, who wish they could share Akira's plight.
