Summary: Absolutely wild and hilarious!
Review: Nadesico has to be one of the funniest animes I've ever viewed, and I've seen my fair share. Terrific dubbing (for once) and eccentric characters really sell the show. There's lots of love triangles, quadrangles, octoganals or whatever! Fast-paced, despite the hilarity of the show, it still manages to tug my heart strings at times and it even made me cry once. As wild as it is, there is a real story behind all the comedy, one that reaches through the screen to the reader. Highly recommended.

Summary: A hilarious twist on an old story!
Review: My brother happened to be a huge fan of Nadesico a few years ago, and I decided that I owed it to myself to watch it, and I was not disappointed at all. The story of a civilian - built space battleship which is built as a last minute alternative to military battteships, sent off to battle a group of aliens known as the "Jovian Lizards" with a motley crew of misfits, odd personalities and slight social problems may sound like familiar territory (think Captain Tylor), but Nadesico presents a new and hilarious view on this old theme. The mechanical designs used in the robot fighting are spectacular, the character designs are fresh and new (Personally... can Gianax even design something like Akito Tenkawa?) and the soundtrack is a cool fusion of classic John Williams type scores along with some great J-Pop. However, the biggest thing that drew me to Nadesico was its huge lampooning of anime fandom in general, since there is a small anime series which spoofs 70's giant robot shows called "Gekiganger", which the entire crew is in love with. Believe me, it made me think twice about my whole anime fandom once I saw these anime characters fretting and obssessing about anime... boy, it's weird. But Nadesico's new action, crazy designs and great and unpredictable characters make this one great ride for all new and old anime fans. To quote Ruri, you'd have to be a "baka" to seriously miss this anime! =)

Summary: Best anime ever!!!!!!
Review: Nadesico is the best anime to come out in recent years. Personaly i love anime so naturally i see... a lot of anime films series etc but nadesico is a curtain to please for any people interested in a good anime. If you liked anime such as evangelion and robotech i asure that you will like this i've seen dvd 1 and 2 and thats all i can get for now (Bloody Australia everything takes a million years to be realeased out here). Anyway a space war involving robots is always the makings of a great anime and im sure you'll agree with me that this is a great one. I really hope they release a Gekigangar key ring i want one :)and some nadesico toys soon

Summary: I felt like I just finished Evangelion again....
Review: While I enjoyed the beginning and middle of this series like Evangelion, I was disappointed at the open ended final episode where there are still questions that were left unanswered. Also, this dvd is pretty much barebones as all you get are the episodes with no significant extras like phot galleries, character profiles, etc. Still, its a nice anime series although I wished there were more series with a definite finality to the last episodes.

Summary: Very, Very Funny
Review: What can I say that already hasn't been said? This is just a great series. It is SO funny. All you do for the first four episodes is feel empathy for the main character (Akito Tenkawa) and laugh hysterically. In this first volume, Akito gets entangled with a battleship crew to become an aestivalis pilot (mobile body suit thingy)but all he really wants to do is be a cook (which he repeats every chance he gets), meets up with an old "friend" depending on whose view you look at it from, regains a love for the old anime Gekiganger 3 and manages to stay alive after a couple of battles against the Jovians (evil lizards or something like that). If you just like to laugh at stuff and still enjoy a pretty good story, you'll like MSN. With all the incredibly somewhat-neurotic characters running around, you can't help but love this anime. Good for all anime fans.

Summary: The series that comes full circle...
Review: `Endgame'... containing the final 5 episodes of the series, from a festival honoring the Jovians with a Gekiganger convention to the outcome of the Earth-Jovian war. There's plenty of drama, comedy, action and some romance that makes `Martian Successor Nsadesico' work. I'll miss it...

Summary: Nadesico shifts into slap-stick mode before the final volume
Review: Nadesico continues to combine comedy with a deep plot and interesting characters in volume 5, where the story suddenly takes a back seat to slap-stick comedy reminiscent of Slayers while still being able to focus on the plot. As the crew of the Nadesico discovers the secret kept from them about the Jovian Lizards, that they're actually humans that were banished from earth hundreds of years ago, they have to cope with the fact that they're no longer just fighing against a faceless enemy, but killing others not much unlike themselves.

Munetake has his own problems with the military blaming him for the leak, even he was left in the dark like everyone else. With the threat of being demoted, Munetake is looking for something to secure his position, and a new weapon for the Nadesico would do fine... The enigmatic Ruri also has her own episode as the questions about her so far unknown past are answered, but the answers might not make for a happy ending. ...And what anime would be complete without an episode where the heroines dress up and sing in an idol contest?

The animation is as strong as ever, and the video quality looks much better than the previous volume as well, though I still think the video looks too grainy for DVD. But the artifacting is gone, so I'm happy.

I noticed no problems with the audio, and the dub continues to be quite pleasant to listen to. The dubbed script seems to be getting closer and closer to the original script, but Ruri doesn't seem to sound as good as she used to. She has many more serious and soft-spoken lines, much different than in the previous episodes, which her American counterpart doesn't seem to be able to do as well.

Summary: Buy the whole series at once, it's that good!!!!!
Review: If you have followed anime for any length of time, you truly owe it to yourself to pick up this series. The animation is crisp, the voices are great (though I am almost sure some voices were from Evangelion), and the colors look just like on the back of the case - vibrant and rich.

I have serious anime, but after seeing Tenchi on Cartoon Network I like humor too. I have been following this series since I got the first disc, and it's a perfect mix of humor, action, and plot twists. It's got action, human characters that you can care about, and humor. LOTS of humor. I laugh hysterically at every reference that pokes fun at anime stereotypes. The main character is a geeky teen who has tons of girls after him and he wants nothing to do with them - kinda like Tenchi. And just watch the Gekkiganger anime inside the show! It's an extremely campy and sarcastic take on classic anime. (it reminds me of Voltron for some reason) And the irony is the spoof series plays an integral part of the show, but you'll have to watch more to understand.....
