Summary: This movie is pretty good!
Review: Ninja Cadets! aka "Ninja Mono" in Japan is a story that combines the sword busting of Ninja Scroll with the wackiness of Tenchi Muyou. My only problem with this DVD is that there are only two OAV's and that there will be no more OAV's afterwards. In other words, you are left with a storyline that begs to have more afterwards. You watch and enjoy the anime but are left saying...I want to watch more!...but for now, there are no plans for more.

As for the video, the quality is really colorful and the video, I'm guessing is only stereo because I didn't notice anything major ala 5.1.

The extras are pretty interesting with about 11 trailers to other Media-Blasters anime releases and the outtakes are very fun to watch. Also, a 5-minute art gallery. I hope Media-Blasters adds them to all their DVD's. My only problem is the dubbed voice when you enter each menu. It's very childlike and it's obviously the voice for Sakura but I felt I was going to watch a children's animation and this anime is far from that.

I'm glad they offered the series both in dub and in original Japanese with English subtitles for us purists.

A good DVD but disappointed that the story ended like it did with no future episodes planned at this time.

Summary: Could have been better...
Review: The story starts out at night in fedual Japan. Ninjas from the Kabusu clan attack the Byakuro castle. A big mechanical turtle is tearing the caslt apart and just before it is demolished the king gives the baby princess to his lawful ninja and the ninja runs off inton the night...

Boom, years later come and Sakura and Matsuri are chasing a bear. Sakura cheats and wins and they get into this big fight. The next day they are at the child-care center and are assigned a mission to retrieve the magic scroll fomr the Kabusu clan... Now for crictizing..
1.What is up with that turtle thing? Something else would have been better.

2.Sakura's voice was ANNOYING. She had a high whiny voice and sounded like a three-year-old.

3.It should have gone in deeper, the story was way too rushed. Yume, was pushed aside while it seemed like Kaoru needed to be explained more, it looked like there was more to him. Also the history between the Byakuro and the Kabusu clans should have been more explained. It would have given me a better understanding. The villains, well there wasn't much to them except they wanted to capture the Byakuro princess. There should have been more secrets along them too. A lot of the time i was confused. I had to watch the movie a couple of times to get it straight.

4.You were supposed have been guessing who the princess was-etheir Yume, Matsuri or Sakura- i wasn't guessing at all, you could tell from the start. I think that they wanted you to be guessing, but when you saw the baby's face you could elminate one person and don't you think the main character would be the princess...???

5.Extras- why, why, why??? The bloopers were just scenes from the movie where they stuck in Sakura's voice- they all were hers! None of the other people got spotlight. Art Gallery is okay, nothing there. Plus you hear Sakura's voice say "Welcome to the Ninja Cadet's Training Camp!" I cringed real bad when i heard her voice... oh i can't stand it anymore! The voice!!!

6.There really, really should be a sequel, maybe i would have given it more stars. I was left thinking "did i miss something?" becuase it ended way too abrubtly. Can't those people who make movies like this see how it confuses people and seems way too jumbled? I guess we'll never know....

You really shouldn't buy it, just rent it if you can or borrow from your friend. It really isn't worth the money...

Summary: It's like Ninja Scroll, but funnier
Review: This is the first DVD I ever bought. I for one, think I made a good choice. Ninja cadets is filled with gore and violence. It also has a comedy feel to it. I guess you could say it's a cross between Ninja Scroll and Tenchi Muyo!. You follow along with Sakura, Pochi, Matsuri, Hayashi, Yume, and Kaoru on their mission to steal a secret scroll from Byakuro Castle. Most of the movie is filled with action, so don't worry about becomming bored. If the jokes aren't funny enough for you, check out the bloopers. Other cool features are: Art Gallery, Scene Access, English or Japanese version, optional subtitles, and about fifteen cool trailors. I hope Youmex will make more episodes of this wonderfull anime. I highly recommend Ninja Cadets.

Review: This movie is great! I loved it. There was a lot of action in the movie the whole time so it really never got boring. The beginning was really good and exciting. The animation and music was good. The voices were okay, they could have been better. You could have it in English or Japenese with or without sub-titles. I really wanted to see more but from what I've heard from other reviews there really isn't any planned. Well if you are an anmie lover this movie is for you!
