Summary: just okay
Review: Cute and fun, but nothing extraordinary. A group of expatriate ninjas-in-training set off to complete their final exam: to reach their erstwhile castle and retrieve a magic scroll. Meanwhile, some no good types are looking for the princess who previously escaped their evil clutches when, as a baby, she was spirited away from the castle under seige. Which of the Ninja Cadets is she? Will any of them manage to pass the exam? Will evil finally triumph over good? .. nah. But it is entertaining watching them fight all those battles [It's a giant frog! Run for your lives!].

Summary: This DVD has everything - including subtitles
Review: I just wanted to make a correction in my last review, the dvd version DOES have english subtitles and japanese language mode (I feel so dumb, I found it by accident). I was confused because NOTHING on the package suggested more than one language mode. This feature is very important for die-hard anime fans like myself. That's one reason I'll never get the Street Fighter II movie on DVD, beause it doesn't have the english subtitles version (because it was never officially commercially released in that format). Anyhoo I strongly recommend this DVD.

Summary: I am sooooo disappointed!
Review: I read a review about Ninja Cadets comparing it to Jubei-chan, and Rurouni Kenshin. Jubei-chan, and Kenshin are my favorite anime! Unfortunately this anime can never live up to them, and I don't want to ever go back to that website ever again to look up reviews before buying anything.

I bought this DVD thinking it would be funny. On the back of this DVD, it says that this Anime is a "Action/Adventure/Comedy". The humor was so dry. Whenever they would try to make a joke, I just stared at the TV with an emotionless face.

This anime is OKAY, but it's NOT great, or one of the best things that I've seen. The story is a little interesting, and if anymore will be released sometime in the future, I wouldn't buy it.. but if someone I know has more of this Anime.. I'll borrow it to see what happened since the OVA left me hanging.

Another note: I usually just watch the Japanese version. I heard part of how the English voices sounded when I watched the bonus material for "Bloopers". HORRIBLE ENGLISH DUB! And the bloopers aren't worth watching either. -_-;;

If you want to see an "Action/Adventure" anime this is OKAY for that (keep in mind that this is only a two episode DVD). But don't buy it if you want to see a Kenshin or Jubei-chan type anime. What I mean by that is... I don't even feel like watching this Anime more than twice even though I bought it (so far it's been only one viewing). It's nothing spectacular.

Summary: It was ok
Review: I was mostly interested in seeing this anime because I based an RPG character off of the picture of the character, whom I had never actually seen in action until 1 1/2 years later. The fact that there's only 2 episodes gives me two things to look at.

#1. It's not worth getting since the series was discontinued.

#2. It still has potential of being a good series if they do continue it. In which case I would buy a box set of the whole series.

The story was some-what interesting, but I warn you, you'll hate the dubbing voices if you're not a 12-year old kid. The guy that asked what language I wanted played the DVD as I was deciding, and when I heard Sakura yell out something in the English voice at the start-up, I immediately said, "That sounds so annoying! Japanese please!"

Overall, if they continue the series it may turn out to be good, but you can't judge it so far since it's only 2 episodes.

Summary: Potential aplenty
Review: It is a pity that the series was not completed. It has it's problems and at times it is rather anime cliche. But for all that I enjoyed it. The character costumes are well drawn and the characters themselves have potential. Each one has different skills. The heroes look cool and the gals sexy. The action is well done. It is worth a watch, as the series was dropped I am not sure if it is worth buying.

Summary: Interesting, but needs work
Review: Ninja Cadets is meant to be a comedy/action, but it fails in the comedy department. The jokes are old, used, and I did not find myself even chuckling once. The action on the other hand is solid, with a bit of gore adding a nice touch. The plot has potential, but sadly there were only two episodes made in the entire series.

Summary: Ninja Cadets DVD Review: 2 OAV's...that's it? We want more!
Review: Ninja Cadets! aka "Ninja Mono" in Japan is a story that combines the sword busting of Ninja Scroll with the wackiness of Tenchi Muyou. My only problem with this DVD is that there are only two OAV's and that there will be no more OAV's afterwards. In other words, you are left with a storyline that begs to have more afterwards. You watch and enjoy the anime but are left saying...I want to watch more!...but for now, there are no plans for more.

As for the video, the quality is really colorful and the video, I'm guessing is only stereo because I didn't notice anything major ala 5.1.

The extras are pretty interesting with about 11 trailers to other Media-Blasters anime releases and the outtakes are very fun to watch. Also, a 5-minute art gallery. I hope Media-Blasters adds them to all their DVD's. My only problem is the dubbed voice when you enter each menu. It's very childlike and it's obviously the voice for Sakura but I felt I was going to watch a children's animation and this anime is far from that.

I'm glad they offered the series both in dub and in original Japanese with English subtitles for us purists.

A good DVD but disappointed that the story ended like it did with no future episodes planned at this time.
