Summary: Subs vs Dubs...
Review: At first I really liked it...The subbed episodes were good. It would have been nice if the opening and ending themes where subbed as well...then I watched the dub. It was dubbing at it's worst. Not only were the voices quite horrible, but the script was almost completely different from the sub. It was as if the people who dubbed the first season of Sailor Moon had gotten their hands on another really good anime. I was absolutly horrified...

Summary: Saint Tail - the Japanese female Robin Hood
Review: Everyone says ST is like the story of Robin Hood. Yes and no. Saint Tail is an elementary girl named Meimi. Getting tips from her nun-in-training friend, Seira, Meimi helps innocent victims of stolen goods. STail steals them back and returns them. Did I spoil the story for you? Well, that's not all! Saint Tail is being chased by the police, specifically a detective's son, Asuka. They play the "cat and mouse" chasing game. He doesn't Meimi is Saint Tail, but she knows he's after her alter ego. Asuka insults Saint Tail and Meimi gets all cute mad. He gets real close to finding her (in three episodes?!). The chibi-infested short about sweet potatoes is funny and all the characters are drawn in "chibi" form. Real cute.

Summary: Anime has nothing on the manga
Review: I bought the 1st DVD of Saint Tail, hoping that the great joy I found in the manga would translate well onto the anime. Unfourtanetly, despite the plot being almost identical, the charm of the manga was lost and all that was left was kiddie-fair. If you're still at the stage where the dub Sailor Moon keeps you happy for hours, this might be for you. But for everyone else, go buy the manga.
As for the dub... It's a shame the voice actors can't even pronounce the word "Asuka." If you thought Cartoon Network had some bad dubs, you haven't seen anything yet.

Summary: Great Anime, Poor DVD
Review: I first saw Kaitou Saint Tail when it was broadcast on TV in Japan. A friend of mine in Osaka mailed me video tapes of the first 12 episodes. I also bought the Japanese laser disc of the first three episodes. The first episode was a one-hour special with an extended version of the show's magnificiant end-credit song, "Junshin". I was really looking forward to the DVD.

The song wasn't there. TokyoPop decided to cut the credits out of the episodes, and ran the credits only prior to the first episode and after the last episode on the DVD. And to top it off, not only did they not include the extended version of Junshin, they replaced the TV version of the song with an apparently synthesized instrumental version which was a far cry from Inoue Shouko's very wonderful rendition. To top it off, the song wasn't found in the "extras" on the DVD.

Saint Tail is a wonderful show, and it really broke my heart to see it treated this way on a DVD. I understand that TokyoPop has listened to customer feedback, and is going to do the second DVD right. I hope so, because if they don't, I'm not sure there's going to be a third DVD.

Summary: The best!
Review: I just bought this a week ago, and it's proved to be an excellent anime. If you buy it from Suncoast (as I did), you can get a limited addition box with this movie AND the first book. The book is good too.
I understand (from other reviews) that starting with Volume 5, that the English version will no longer be available. If buying for younger audiences, I suggest you not buy this until they won't get frustrated reading subs and watching the eps at the same time.

Pros:
great plot
good for young audiences
no nudity, swearing, etc.

Cons:
they stop the English feature @ vol. 5 (this might be frustrating for younger audiences).

This is one of the best series! You won't be let down!

Summary: All I can say is "wow"!!!
Review: I picked volumes 1 and 2 up on a whim a couple of years ago for my birthday. I didn't really have high expectations for the series.
After watching this, I completely fell in love with the series. It's a cute, fun magical girl series with some romance!
If you like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, I highly recommend getting this, it's one of my faves!

Summary: Great anime!
Review: I waited sooo long to see this anime! Fansubs were hard to find and there were no Hong Kong imports done, so this is it! It's more serious than Sailor Moon and more "grown-up" than Cardcaptor Sakura(which is TERRIBLY, painfully English dubbed), but not as developed as Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, which it is similar in plot to. Of course, there is a small mascot: Ruby the hedgehog, but she doesn't talk. Definitly pick this up, and if you enjoy it, e-mail the company and bug them to bring over KKJeanne and Corrector Yui.
