Summary: The conclusion of the first season
Review: As the last DVD in this season, this disc only contains three episodes. The standard 4-a-disc will resume with the 10th. I shouldn't have to convince you to buy this; this stuff is cute anime ... Only thing that's bothering me is the apparent lack of Vol. 8, which is not available here at Amazon. It seems to be available at other [local stores], so hopefully Amazon will get some in soon!

Summary: This series has so much--action, sweet moment, mystery.
Review: Cardcaptors is what pulled me into Anime. My daughter played Pokemon & I enjoyed the adventures of Team Rocket, but I happened to see Yue standing there, wings & all &, loving angels, I had to watch more. Cardcaptor Sakura is so much better than the butchered version we were given here in the U.S. as Cardcaptors. The story gives us a sweet view of a loving family as well as action, adventure, mystery & humor. In this edition we are already getting clues to the 2nd season climax with Yue, Ms. Mitsuki & the Tokyo Tower. Cardcaptors was so heavily cut & pasted together while Cardcaptor Sakura is nicely paced out over about 70 eps. In English we kept hearing how the Judge had to be impartial, yet Yukito always seems to give Sakura the clue she needs to solve the problem & capture the card, so it is interesting to see uncut those eps. How much more does Toya know than he's letting on? The big brother bits are sooo sweet, & how much does he know about Yukito? Ms. Mitsuki & Toya were involved in the past, Tomoya & Sakura are related through their mothers--there's a whole lot more at work in the original version.
The monthly manga just made it past the judgement & would be enjoyable to all those who love this show. Kero calling Yukito a boy toy is worth (the money).

Summary: "She's dreaming...of a Firey Christmas..."...wait...
Review: For the this disc, we have only three episodes, but they're all good!

First up, winter has hit Tomoeda town! And the kids are going to an Ice Skating lesson...but it keeps getting colder...and colder...and colder...Looks like the Freeze card is up to some mischief!

Next, Tomoeda district is having a "Town Quiz" contest. This one has no card captured, and didn't make the dub, though this time I can can kinda see why. The first couple of quiz questions are really "Tricks with Kanji!", which would be totally meaningless to American children. Either way, watching Meilin struggle with the first one is priceless...and something seems to be bothering Kero...something with a name starting with "Y"...

And for the finale, it's CHRISTMAS! The time of presents, the day of infinite joy!(Think I like this holiday?) And it's also Yukito's birthday! Sakura's giving him a present at the amusement park, unless the rampaging Firey card roasts it first! Also, as opposed to the dub version, Sakura is _not_ worried about Kero vanishing, and actually goes to talk with Meilin about advice for a present to give to Yukito. When she's on the phone, she's not thinking of calling Li, but trying to summon up the courage to call Yukito to ask him to the Amusement park. Also, there's this hilarious moment that was cut from the dub when Sakura and Tomoyo go to Meilin to ask for the aforementioned advice wherein Meilin thinks they've come to abduct her and ransom her for the cards in Li's possession!(Totally hysterical!)

And next time...a new opening song! See ya!

Summary: KAWAII!!!! kawaii! kawaii! kawaii! ect.
Review: Okay, now that I got that out of me, this is kawaii. I mean, I know that all of this series is, but I have to say it again. Acctually, I've seen a lot of anime, and their dubs, but this remains my favorite. For those who are not sure about trying an original anime, Cardcaptor Sakura will give you a boost. Anyway, this dvd starts off with "SAkura's Freezing Ice Skating" where Shaorans crush on Sakura blossoms. Of coarse, it's mild here, but it's pretty cute. The card is freeze, (duh) which turns a skating lesson into a crash coarse. This did make the dub, however, the dub's missing a couple of scenes. Next is an episode which, I think, is cute. Sakura is informed about a town quiz and decides to enter. Since partners are needed, she enters with Yukito, naturally. They get to the last question and things get kinda freaky.Because of the Japanese writting in this one, it wasn,t included in the dub. Third is the last episode of the first season, with FIREY. This is one of the most brutally cut-up episodes there are. Sakura's supposed to have been trying to get Yukito to go to the amusement park with her, it wasn't accidental. Not to mention the absence of Shaoran and Tomoyo's homo-sexuality. All in all, this is a great ending to the first season of this wonderfull series. I strongly encourage everyone to take a look.

Summary: 3 great season enders
Review: Usually there are 4 episodes on these DVDs but this one only has three because these are the final three of season one. All take place around Christmas time, a romantic holiday in Japan. Sakura's relationship with Yukito becomes more than merely "he's the big brother's friend" as they cooperate in a contest and spend his birthday at an amusement park. Most importantly Sakura's dreams are further revealed and we have a clear set-up for season two. Also these are the last Kero Checks at the end of the show: he cries, how sad!

Summary: Ending the first season with a Bang!
Review: While it is beyond me that Amazon skipped the 8th volume for the time being, I'll focus my attention to this 9 volume, which is the last disc of the 1st season and the halfway point of the show. It only has three episodes on it, but don't fret, because they're good ones.

*Sakura goes ice skating! What seems to be an innocent school trip turns into an instant freezer when the freeze card show up and begans Sakura's classmates. It's bad enough Sakura can't skate that well yet...

*Sakura, Yukito, and the Midday Moon! Tomoeda sponsers a city wide scavenger hunt. Tomoyo would rather tape Sakura on her way to victory, so she get's to be paired up with Yukito! Much to Shaoran's dismay I might add. Things start off great without any clow cards to ruin the day, then Sakura notices the full moon and takes a plunge into trouble!

*It's Christmas! It's Yukito's Birthday?! What should Sakura get him? Something handmade or bought? The two end up going to an amusement park followed secretly by Tomoyo and the others. Will Sakura's relationship with Yukito heat up? Wait a second, that's the third element card, Firey! More powerful than any of the cards she has collected so far, the Firey card threatens to burn the park down if something isn't done fast!!!

The season draws to a close with a sweet eye catching ending, also taking the series into a darker mood. T-minus 3 discs until the judgement ceremony. See you on the next disc, RELEASE!

Summary: End of first season!
Review: You only get 75 min. And now that an 8 DVD set is comming out that covers first and second season you kind of wonder if it is worth it. It is if you are a collector of postcards. Show 35 does NOT have Kero comments at the end. Sigh, I hope that does not signal the future. Also does not come with a preview of show 36 as it says on the inside either.
