Summary: Longest 45 Minutes Of My Life...
Review: ...or however the hell long it was. I'm sorry, but this is just a horrible movie. The story was long and pointless {even though it was short. Go figure.} The animation was even worse. I know it was an early anime, but come on! Even stationary objects like dead bodies {there were a lot of them} juttered up and down. I can't comment on the sequel, but if it was ANYTHING like the first, it is sure to be a travesty of nature. The one thing I'll give it is some really nice box art. In fact, that has to be one of the best drawn anime boxes I've seen. It's a shame they couldn't employ that talent on the film! All in all, a really bad flick, even for those slightly interested in anime.

Summary: Review of MD Geist 2
Review: As if the first wasn't bad enough, ten years later, these same anime luminaries who produced M.D. Geist made a sequel. In doing so, they committed an amazing feat ... they outdid the original in every way imaginable.

It's even worse than the first.

With the technology available in the late 1990s in the animation field, one would assume that at least the technical aspects of the art and animation would at least improve. It not only fails to do so, but fails spectacularly. Frame rates are atrocious, and again, mildly interesting mecha fail to inspire any awe in this totally surreal gore-fest.

Just as in the first, you'll find yourself quickly not giving a damn about anybody in this flick. The characters are all portrayed with the same low level of intelligence as the first (incredibly high concentrations of lead in the Jerran atmosphere perhaps?), and the lines have to be heard to be believed.

The only redeeming factor to this installment is the at the end, M.D. Geist dies. At least this precludes any more OAVs being made (or so we desperately hope).

If M.D. Geist didn't deserve a sequel, then M.D. Geist II doesn't deserve the tape it's filmed on. I honestly believe this series should be placed lovingly into the crater of the nearest convenient active volcano and vaporized into ash. But then, we'd all be wasting our time doing that. ^_^

As a brief epitaph- er- epilogue, we have to ponder the question of why US Manga Corps has been using M.D. Geist as their mascot when surely one of their staff could've
DRAWN a better one. Bu then again, that's beating a dead horse.

Cross yourself, bring holy water, whatever. Just don't rent this movie (or God forbid, BUY it).

Summary: This is the worst anime I've ever seen
Review: First of all, it's really short, and that irks me. I like my anime to be full length, or it just seems rushed. Second of all, there is no plot in this movie to speak of. People who like it just say, "oh, it's just nihilistic," but in reality there is no point in watching something THIS nihilistic. It's just Geist killing people. There's no conflict, no romance, no opposing forces, just killing people. And on top of everything, the animation isn't even good. All the violence wouldn't be so bad if it was at least drawn well. There was nothing but red smudges through half the film, and a quarter of what was left was just brown smudges for dust clouds. Don't even think of wasting your time, money, or integrity by getting this movie.

Summary: Don't waste your money.
Review: I took a chance and ordered this based on a couple of recommendations from some anime chat rooms. I'm now convinced that anyone who recommends this "cult classic" has either not really seen it or was stoned when they did. The animation is typical early 80's, with color fadeout in many spots. The sound is standard stereo with pretty good front soundstage coverage. The story - well it pretty much feels like somebody animated a bunch of visuals and then tried to tie them all together without benefit of a plot. What story there is makes no sense. I mean, I came away a bit bewildered after Evangelon, but it made a hell of a lot more sense than this thing and was tons more fun. Unless you've got money to burn, stay away from this title. You won't enjoy it.

Summary: Hard Fight Hard Core
Review: If you like Sailor Moon, Escaflownes, Pokemon etc stay away from this video. However if you are one of the old Hard core fans who likes the Hard fight Animes of the past in which storyline and plot NEVER interfere with action then this is for you.

A hard hitting anime, this is defenantly a "GUYS WHO LIKE ANIMATED VIOLENCE" Anime.

Summary: Absolute gore fest
Review: If you want action and plenty of blood, then you'll probably like this. Great fight sequences and mecha designs too.

However, the plot is pretty weak. It's about a genetically enhanced super soldier who has gone nuts. With a superiority complex he is hell bent to destroy all human kind on the planet. The first part ends with MD Geist (the rogue super soldier)succeeding in releasing the Death Force after a bothched attempt by a human general to destroy him.

The second part picks up after the release of Death Force. The Death Force is a group of about 1 million mechas designed to destroy all humans. In this part, MD Geist's successor, MD Krausse fights for the humans against Geist's army. Like Geist, he is also genetically enhanced. However, he has somewhat of a God complex. His superpowers made him believe he is the saviour of the human race and that people worships him.

Picture quality is just ok. It could use a little clean up as I can spot a few grains here and there.

This DVD only has Dolby 2.0 recording. So no surround effects here ...

If you intend to get the movie, go for DVD instead of VHS. You get 2 movies for the price of one.

Summary: Action is great, but there is nothing else good about it.
Review: If your looking for action this is the movie to see, but If you are looking for anything resembling a plot line, likable characters you will be sorely disappointed. The action is great, but every character in the movie is insane, and villanous. Also on a side note, the movie is about killing everything in sight...no heroes, everyone is a villian, and If you want to see this movie, I suggest you borrow it from a friend. It's not worth the money. Action is great, but everything else is sorely disappointing.
