The comic misadventures continue as Dai-Guard pilots Akagi, Aoyama, and Ibuki find themselves caught in the quarrels between their employer, 21st Century Defense Security Corporation, and the Japanese army. Infuriated that Dai-Guard has usurped the role of defending Japan against the monstrous Heterodynes, the Army produces its own battle robot, Kokubogar. But a blobby red Heterodyne engulfs Kokubogar and proceeds to terrorize Tokyo. Stuffy special agent Shirota proves a poor substitute for the injured Akagi when he tries to save the situation. Despite his wounds, the overeager Akagi leads the evacuation of a hospital, then pilots Dai-Guard to victory. Dai-Guard may be the Edsel of the mecha world, but technical wizard Rika Domeki and her long-suffering assistant Sumida provide jazzy new weapons that settle the Heterodynes' hash.
