Review: Follows the exploits of the Nadesico's Aestivalis pilots as they struggle to stop a deadly new Jovian weapon.I know most of you are gonna say that Evangelion is better, but it's not. This is an complete series without all the overblow pathos of Eva. The characters are fresh, fun, and original.

Summary: Great parody, and has plenty of its own good stuff
Review: This series does a great job of parodying the elements of your average anime. You can see parodies of Eva, Macross, Tenchi, and all kinds of great stuff. For example you have the bizarre blue haired girl Ruri, who acts quite a bit like Rei Ayanami. Then you have the cook Akito, who is always running away, doesn't want to accept the position he's been suddenly thrust into (pilot of a huge robot) - much like Shinji Ikari. And you have the usual guy who has tons of girls in love with him and just can't figure them out, which is in just about every series. All in all a very amusing and cool series - highly recommended!

Summary: Funny Sci Fi, Gekiganger III rules.
Review: Martian Successor Nadesico has a little bit of everything. It has a bunch of girls chasing a single guy, similar to Tenchi Muyo. It has people piloting robots/mecha, similar to Macross. The television series aired in Japan in 1996 and runs for 26 episodes, it surrounds a klutzy 20 years old girl Yurika Misumaru that happens to be a brilliant battleship captain, and a chef-wannabe Akito Tenkawa that happens to be a brilliant robot pilot. The sci-fi element is decent: time travel, mechas, big battleships, ancient technological ruins (a la 2001 The Space Odessey). The series is also very funny, *though* a lot of humor comes from making fun of the robot shows popular in Japan during the 70s. The "enemy" in the series builds their whole society upon an anime series named GEKIGANGER III. The only objection I have against this series is the ending. It leaves me with an empty feeling, as if there should be a few more episodes. There is a movie that follows the series, but it doesn't quite fill the gap completely.

Summary: This series is like wine. It gets better with time!
Review: Okay, at first, this series totally disgusted me. I bought the first tape, curiously, with no knowledge of what it contained. My first impression, a bunch of whinny loud mouth idiots (to quote Ruri :). It seemed to be a bad EVA clone. For some odd reason, however, I went out and bought the next two tapes. Thank God I did! After I finished watching the second tape I was dying to watch the 3rd, and now I'm desperate to go and purchase the next 2 as well! This series got so much deeper. I no longer consider it a bad EVA clone. It's is not like EVA. It is different. I love EVA. I also now love Nadesico. Of course, the loud whinning hasn't stopped, but it became bearable, especially after they nearly explained why everyone yells. That's one of my favorite things. They explain a lot about themselves and this series when the take about an anime within the show called Gekigengar. Everything. Trust me. This series is well worth the time/money/and effort.

Review: While I only saw the first two episodes of the tape, I can say that the show still has all its charm. While some call it slow paced, i think it allows time to get to know the characters. Unless the third episode is terrible, this movie should keep its 5 stars

Summary: I Thought This One Was A Good Follow Up
Review: This was a very good contiuation from vol.2. The beginning was wonderful once the story plot started. The Unaltered Japanese dialogue was essential to promoting the Storyline in it's full glory. In my book this is one of the best videos in the Nadesico series and I hope to have many more like them

Summary: Good, but bad dubbing
Review: For those of you who didn't know, Volume 4 of the Nadesico series is titled Deadly Encounters. Hold on, Hold on, I'll get into why in a minute. Akito finds himself the object of a romantic rivalry between Yurika and Megumi as the crew of the Nadesico must fight battle after battle defending Earth. An encounter with a mysterious girl almost leads to tragedy as Akito and the Aestivalis team must take on a new and even more deadly form of Jovian fighter! This volume, like the others is great, except for the dubbing, which is also bad in the others. If you hear the Japanese voices you will most likely agree that they fit the characters better than the English ones. First of all Akito, he sounds like a cowardly geek in the dubbed, while in Japanese, he has a deeper, more manly voice which I think better suits his character. Second of all Yurika's voice sounds very down to earth when in the Japanese version she sounds like a real space cadet, and I see her as a ditzy character and the voice that they chose to dubb in just doesn't seem to fit right. Besides my hatred against the horrid dubbing this is a really good choice, with very good plot development.
