Summary: Satam the best cartoon
Review: This is the best cartoon to ever be shown on T.V. I remember watching it when I was five years old, I loved it then and I love it now. I only wish Dic would create more DVDs.

Summary: A WoNdErFuL SERIES!!!!!!!
Review: YEs!!! It's sonic the hedgehog and his friends from my absolute favorite satAM cartoon! It was a sad thing when this show got cancelled and leaving all the fans stuck on the cliffhanger. About 8 years later, I began to download cartoons I used to watch as a kid like My little Pony Tails, The last Unicorn, Unico, And of couse sonic the hedgehog. The quality for the downloads were poor. But it was the only way I can enjoy Sonic again.

But NOW this great series has come out on DVD and everyone can enjoy them again! I sincerely hope that the entire series will come out and maybe even...perhaps if it becomes popular...DIC will FINISH THE SERIES!! *(Oh I wish!!!)*

As for you people who critisize the characters voice acting...I happen to think it's great! I love how sonic uses that cute slang of his... So pick up your sonic the Hedgehod DVD and do it to it with One of the best american satAM cartoons out there!

Summary: Now I remember why I loved this show
Review: This used to be my favorite cartoon growing up. Usually when I revisit shows from my past I think to myself "Why did I ever like this trash?" That's not the case with Sonic. This was one fantastic cartoon show. Remember that this was a weekly show for kids. It has GREAT hand painted backgrounds that you just don't see anymore. The characters themselves are a bit primitive though. If only the artists took as much time on the characters that went into making the environments it would be a perfect show. And some of the voice acting is horrible. Practicably Dr. Robotnik sidekick. The best voice actor is the person who did Robotnik. He was absolutely perfect for the job. He made a silly round eggman into a dark, sinister evil being. The whole look and feel of Robotropolis is perfect. And the storyline is excellent. My main problem with the show is it included Tails so little. They should have replaced the Princess with him because he is who Sonic's sidekick is supposed to be. I also would have liked to have seen Knuckles appear at least once. I know Knuckles wasn't around until the show was almost finished with it's run. But this is still one of the greatest cartoons ever made. More DVDs should be made of it.

Summary: Finally, no more old tapes for me!
Review: Now I can don't have to watch those horrible quality tapes of episodes I have halfway recorded. 5 complete high-quality episodes for 14 bucks. Since there are only 26 episodes of the series, it probably would have been a better move for DiC to release the series in 2 sets. But hey, I'm not complaining. If you're a fan of the series, this is for you. Here's looking forward to more promised DVDs.

Summary: It should of lasted longer than it did
Review: Back in the Early 90's videogames were still viewed as kids toys. TV reflected that image as well. For example Captain N and the Game MAster was an interesting idea horribly pulled off. An insult to every character they portrayed in that (MEgaman alone is an insult). What made that... was the animation and stories. MArio, you would think that would be cool right. TO it's credit it has some credability, but still a little to goofy at times. ABC changed that when they introduced to the American PUblic, Sonic the Hedgehog, an Anime?

WHat MAde SOnic unique compared to other cartoons in the time perid was not the stories, not the characters, but the outstanding Animation for a Saturday Morning cartoon (a basic standard today). NBC dropped out of that war shortly there after and CBS slowed down to a crawl. Fox hanged in tehre by ine better (right) LIve action series. NOw back to Sonic. THe plot line for Sonic (this series) is that Robotnick is transforming Mobius into a mechanical wasteland. Everyone has seen teh effects of what RObotnick does. The main cast is SOnic, armed with speed and attitude is second in command, Sally Princess of Mobius and leader of the Freedom Fighters, Bunny who is stronger than Normal due to th fact that she is partially ROboticized, Antoine, captain of the Guards and a stuck up pig, Rotor, the Walrus and mechanical genius at times, and Tails the youngest of the crew (portrayed to be maybe 8 years old). Theses characters are portrayed to be betweem 16-20 years old so they are in essence teenagers.

I personally love this cartoon, it was one of the best in the wars. When it went of the air I maybe watched another 2 years (before WB) before stopping al together. The PRoblem sonic had was that it was trying to appeal to 2 different Audiences. How the stories tend to be fairly deep and seriouse in which teens would like, but the voice acting was silly and comical thus apealing to kids. Unforunatly teh voices turned away average teens, and the stories turned away little kids.

All in all this is a very good series that shoudl be looked into. It sure... beats out the... American made series (which unfortunatly outlasted the good one) and if you the readers demand it could make a possible comeback on hmm, cartoon network. Just a recomendation.

Summary: The Perfect Show?
Review: Not quite, but close. After about 7 years of waiting, we finally get a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog again; on DVD.

The DVD starts off with a lengthy Dic trailer, with clips from some of the Dic cartoons. From the looks of it, Dic likes Sonic Underground; because there are quite a few clips of it. The problem is, most of the shows aren't on DVD, nor VHS. But it's there. For some reason, it's there.

The wait is over, for after the trailer, the first episode starts. Super Sonic, in my opinion, is the least enjoyable. Well, the plot is that there's this wizard resting in the Forbidden Zone. Sally stumbles upon there, and "the guardian" saves her from a Swatbot on accident. Robotnik is the only one who can get the computer that holds all his spells who can evade every danger. Sonic tries to get it too, but Robotnik gets it first. Sonic gets trapped by Lazar, who wakes up. Sonic makes a promise that if he lets him out, then he'll get the computer. But Lazar takes his speed away. And Robotnik has used a spell to teleport Sally and Bunnie Rabbot into Robotropolis!

Sonic and Sally is a pretty good episode. During a mission in Robotropolis, all goes haywire when Sally gets kidnapped. Robotnik gets enough memory to duplicate human compacity, and clones Sally. Sonic saves the fake Sally, and brings her back to Knothole. Tails seems to be the only one who knows she's a fake, because she didn't give him the "Funny Kiss", and how she read a story. When they go back to Robotropolis, Sonic discovers Sally's a fake. Sally is going to be roboticized, and Sonic replaces the real Sally with the fake one. Then she shoots everything. Sally proves she's real to Tails by giving him the Funny Kiss and doing the "Scary Witch" voice.

Sonic Racer isn't too good. Snivley, Robotnik's nephew, decides that they capture Sonic by setting up a race in Robotropolis. Robotnik builds a Robotic Cheetah which can go 1000MPH. Sonic decides to participate in the race, while Sally, Antoine D' Coolette, and Bunnie go to shut down the Back-Up Generator (Earlier in this ep they blew up the Electric Generator, but Robotnik had a back-up.), while Sonic acts as a diversion. Antoine gets caught on a conveyor belt, and Sonic saves him. Sonic sticks a Power Ring in the gears, and the Back-Up Generator is history.

Finally, in Sonic Boom: During a mission in Robotropolis, Sally gets a message from her dad. So, she tries looking for him in the Ironlock Prison.

After that, you're at the menu. Special Features are: A Dic Trailer (different), and a little Trivia game. The Dic trailer is for this and the Super Mario DVD; the Trivia game? If you get all the questions right, you are treated to Sonic and the Secret Scrolls. In that one, Sonic, Sally, Bunnie, Antoine and Rotor search for the Secret Scrolls in Maga. Robotnik is there, and with a crew of Swatbots. Sonic lures him to the Breath of Mobius, a Wind Tunnel which can blow wind at 175MPH, and Robotnik is assumed dead. But at the very end, after they leave, Robotnik and Snivley climb up to the platform. "I'll get you for this hedgehog... MARK, MY, WORD..."

Sales have done well enough to warrant another DVD. I hope they include Hooked on Sonics, Warp Sonic, Ultra Sonic, Sonic's Nightmare, and Heads or Tails.

Summary: Sonic the Hedgehog
Review: I loved seeing sonic the hedgehog movie on Playstation 2. Andy Bowe got it I loved seeing it when I was a first year in the PACE program it was so totally awesome. You have gotta see it to believe your eyes and get ready to laugh. I remeber the song that I sang in my mind. "Sonic he's the fastest thing alive, Sonic he's the fastest thing alive!" And I love discovering the inner child in myself and Andy's.

Summary: Sonic is great; but what the heck is INSPECTOR GADGET doing?
Review: This is truely a great cartoon. I have quietly been waiting to get my hands on the SatAM Sonic cartoon ever since it got cancelled by ABC (that was when I was 12, I am 19 now!). Without getting into a touchy-feely life story, I woke up one Saturday morning when sixth grade just finished, wanting so much to just watch Sonic at 6:30 AM (yes, that was when it aired here). To my dismay, ABC gave me a very bad birthday present by just up and cancelling Sonic and replacing with some hippie cartoon called "Free Willy". Ever since then, the Sonic SatAM cartoon was in the back of my head.
Sonic is as great as ever. I can't possibly praise this cartoon more. I love it just as much as I did then. I always accepted this as "the real sonic" because of it's setting, storyline and complexity; as opposed to the Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog -or as me and my little sister call it "Speedamint Gum Sonic"- or even those new Sonic Games that came out for the two Sega failure systems. Princess Sally always seemed more legitimate than Amy Rose. I can never be displeased with this cartoon itself.
I am disappointed in Dic, though. First, why did they put such an extensive Dic preview in the beginning? I highly doubt Sonic SatAM's loyal following for the past seven years will even be remotely interested in shows like Sabrina the Animated Series, Mummys Alive or Inspector Gadget. Even worse, though, I was really displeased with the lack of extras that came with my DVD. Perhaps I am being demanding; but whenever I get South Park cartoons or Anime, there is always at least SOMETHING tangible inside the DVD box to keep me entertained for a few seconds; this is the first case that there was nothing but a white encasing around the CD. The lack of extras inside the DVD also disappointed me, although the trivia game was alright I suppose. I don't really mind having to answer questions to get the fifth episode, because the standard for DVDs is four episodes from what I understand. I think the worst thing was that Inspector Gadget was everwhere in the DVD presentation that Sonic was, EVEN ON THE COVER! To me that just seemed unneccessary, and really almost demeaning to the Sonic fandom. Inspector Gadget has NOTHING to do with Sonic the Hedgehog, and does not really belong in the middle of this DVD.
I might be able to understand Dic not wanting to load up on the extras for this DVD in order to keep their costs down, because this project probably did not garauntee large profits and sales. However, interrupting the two Sonic episodes with Inspector Gadget in the middle of the interactive screen and putting him on the front and back of the DVD case really makes Sonic SatAM fan base seem insignificant. I hope there were enough sales to convince Dic to make more Sonic DVDs, and if they do, lose Inspector Gadget please...
