Summary: At long last... Mewtwo is BACK!
Review: I had seen this in Japanese (although in a horrible-quality print) but I knew this would be amazing. And guess what? The dubbers didn't ruin this one! Not only that, but the extra feature, the UNCUT story of Mewtwo's Origin is well worth the price of the DVD by itself! Having heard all about the mysterious Japanese CD Drama, "Birth of Mewtwo", which explains the creation of everyone's favorite angsty, psychic cat, it was truly spectacular to actually see this in animation. That in itself explains more about the character of Mewtwo than the entire first movie! The main story of Mewtwo Returns focuses on Giovanni, a character who never gets enough screen time, and one of his star agents, Domino AKA "The Black Tulip", agent 009. And she's perfectly detestable! Like in the previous Pokemon movies, our favorite Rockets (Jessie, James, and Meowth) play a heroic role (and get lots of screen time, might I add!). The animation is spectacular, like the other Pokemon movies, and even though the story is somewhat shorter, you don't even notice. In a way, it's better, since the story moves quickly without any filler. I recommend this to any Pokemon fan, but especially the older fans out there. This is a bit more intense than the TV show (like the other movies were) but I think it's much better than the first 2 movies. If you ever liked Mewtwo at all, or wondered what happened after the first movie, you HAVE to see this!

Review: I saw this previously in Japanese, but amazingly I'm not disappointed in the dub (as I usually am)! They did manage to have a couple horrible puns, but they always do... Anyway, I got the DVD version and it's great, because although there is no Japanese language track (grr!) there are both French and Spanish (yay!) -- also there is some kind of bonus with Mewtwo's origin, involving a girl named Amber who I take it is the dub of Ai, the girl from Myuutsuu no Tanjou (The Birth of Mewtwo, which is available on CD through Amazon and which you should buy after you get the Japanese Team Rocket CD). That's excellent! This makes me actually want to buy American Pokemon DVDs! Also I don't think they've censored Mewtwo Returns much if at all. Toward the end my high-school-honed crucifixion-symbolism detector goes off (from the position Mewtwo is in when he is held in the glowy light... nothing to be afraid of, non-Christian parents, just reminds me of Cool Hand Luke and the egg-eating thing).

Summary: Rrgg... I cannot think of a title! *Gasp! No title!*
Review: This will be relatively short, since I have not much time to write this. (...) I have the radio drama for "Myuutsu no Tanjo(sp? My Japanese dictionary is nowhere around)", but to see it in animation!Continuing, this video is very good, domo arigatou! I will not rehash the plot like so many others have, but again, this video is GOOD. It is only 63 minutes, but it is still good. (See what happens when I write a review in a hurry? I repeat myself.) It is much more profound than "Myuutsu no Gyakushu" (look it up), and this is an instance where personally, I find the sequeal(sp?) better than the origonal movie. Buy it and watch it! Video or DVD, either one is great! Now,. I must leave. Once my modem is up and runnign again, I will write a longer review. Until then... Dewa mata.

Summary: Finally , we get to see what happened after the 1st movie!
Review: Mewtwo returns in this excellent video sequel to the 1st movie. You have all of the elements for a good Pokemon experience in this one!!! You finally get to see what happened to Mewtwo and the other cloned Pokemon after they went off on their own. Ash and crew once again have to help Mewtwo and the clones , and help Mewtwo open up his heart to see that some humans care selflessy about others. Plus you get to see the Team Rocket Combat Unit! You don't usually get to see how big Team Rocket really is in the episodes , and here you have an army of 'em!!!

Summary: A Darker and more profound side of Pokemon...
Review: Usually when the term "dark" and "thought provoking" come to mind, especially in anime circles, "Mononoke Hime" usually is one of the first pieces of work to come to mind. While, not as "thought provoking" as "Mononoke Hime", "Mewtwo Returns" is a GIANT leap forward in what Otaku's are looking for in an animated piece. A compelling story, beautiful music, and decent animation. With the release of "Mewtwo Returns" the bar has definately been raised 5 fold, to introduce Pokemon to "older" viewers, who often times have been scared away from Pokemon because of its often misunderstood "elementry" nature. This is NO Kids movie! This is a film that poses more questions, about one's existance and one man's desire to see his daughter one last time. Many of the issues dealt in this film, young children would not grasp. This DVD is one that I can say that I am proud to own, because it is a quality production, and one that goes into a side of Pokemon hardly ever touched upon. This folks, is "Pokemon for the OLDER generation".

Review: If you are an avid Mewtwo fan or just a Pokemon fan in general then this is the movie for you. It is a very heart touching film.
It shows how Mewtwo, and his clones are getting along in their new life.
They are living on an secluded island; far from the prying eyes of humans.
Where they must live as outcasts; and remain separated from the rest of the world. Somehow, Giovanni discovers Mewtwo, and his little hideaway; and makes an all out effort to capture him again.
He goes so far as to blackmail him, and tells him if he does not submit to him; that he will destroy the clones.
This leaves Mewtwo with no choice but to obey. What happens next you might wonder?
That I will have to leave it up to you to find out. A remarkable film with lots of action, and a lesson that even adults can learn from.

Summary: This is absolutely amazing, even for Pokemon. A must-see!
Review: Even at the age of 21, I admit that Pokemon, both the game and anime, are a secret pleasure of mine. I never got hooked until about a year ago, when I finally got tired of hearing pokemon this and pokemon that and decided to see what it was all about. I got a gameboy color and a game and rented the first movie. The rest is history. For pokemon, this story is much darker in nature than usual. It hasn't had this tone of storyline since Mewtwo first appeared. Mewtwo is no longer a desperately angry pokemon bent on vengence, for Ash opened his heart and showd him something he had never seen before. Now all he wants for himself and his fellow clones is to live in peace, far away from humanity, a secluded corner on a world that to Mewtwo, he feels he does not even belong on. However, Giovanni's desire to control Mewtwo never faded. He's tracked down Mewtwo via satellite and sets up a trap to lure Mewtwo back into his clutches. Unfortunately for him, Ash and company are also around. It all comes down to the fate of Mewtwo being soley in Ash's hands.....can he make it? Can Mewtwo ever learn if he does belong to this world....or will he always think himself an outcast? The DVD also comes with a great Bonus Feature--the *uncut* version of Mewtwo's Origin. Folks, there's much more to the early days of Mewtwo's development than they ever showed us before. It involves a girl named Amber (I think she was named Ai in the original), a Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur--all clones. That's all I'll say, but the uncut version is also pretty dark in nature. I cried the first time I saw it. Get this and enjoy it! Sit down, relax! There might not be as much action as in most movies, but trust me, this is definetly worth the expense!!!

Summary: Absolutely awesome.
Review: I loved the dubbed version of this TV special. The script translations were very faithful, the voices were good, and the overall story was just plain enjoyable. The film is pretty much showing what happened to Mewtwo and everyone else after the first film "Mewtwo Strikes Back", and how in the end, everyone's memory from the battle was erased. If anyone had watched the dubbed version of MSB like I did, you'll notice that the dubbed musical soundtrack makes its way back in the TV Special. A lot of the original music does make its way in, however, during the silent scenes of the original version, the score in the dubbed version of MSB was placed in this special as well. The music isn't bad, however, the cues were done rather poorly, and some of the songs were repeated a few times. Where they cut in and cut out didn't sound too well overall, and this was my only beef with this. Some scenes are quite violent, however they are not as violent as the first movie. Still, some of the younger children in the audience may not be too comfortable with some of the scenes, and the older fans of the show may rejoice that no actual footage of this TV special was lost. And of course, it's not Pokémon if there's no moral to the story, and this story has a very good one. What, expecting me to say it? No way, I'll leave that to you to hear what it's about ~_^. 4Kids has done it again. First, with the faithful translation of the Japanese script with the third movie, and now, an even better job with this TV Special. Now I definately can't wait for Movie 4's dubbed version.

Review: I am a TOTAL pokemon freak but this is kinda weird!Some people all want to see mewtwo again and i heard this is intense!Really,i want to see continues of the 2 or 3 movie!2:Ash and co.just do what they usally do.Then,lugia comes out of the water and tells them about something giovanni did to him.....He then evovles and there is a pokemon battle!Cool,huh?
3:Molly is happy with her mom and dad back but she wishes for rare pokemon.Raikou and sucine appear(Yes,the real ones)and be her pokemon.They then see what pokemon trainers are all about,catching pokemon and using them in battles.They get angry and run off,trying to find there own life while making destrucion.Ash then battles them and tells what it's really all about:friends.
NOW WOULDN'T THEY BE COOL?

Summary: One Word: Great!
Review: OK, I just love this! First, of all, the animation in this is much better than that of the typical episodes, and more like the movies. I thought it'd be nice to see Mewtwo, and it's better than "nice", it's just plain great. I really suggest getting the DVD, because besides the film it has the cut "Amber-Two" scene from "Mewtwo Strikes Back", the opener to the forth season, and all three movie trailer. But, darn, no director commentary!
