Summary: I Know I'm An Aoshi Fangirl, But...
Review: ...it's safe to say that I enjoyed this video for more than just the Shinomori Aoshi factor. To be honest, I was startled more by the humourous nature of most of the character interactions in these episodes. If you've seen much "Kenshin" you'll be used to such things, perhaps, but I was actually blown away by it all. All the episodes (though particularly the last on this tape) made me laugh out loud at points, sometimes only seconds after I was just about to cry at the injustice of certain scenes. It's quite amazing how well done these episodes are, for they are designed to yank your emotions around like a yo-yo; up one second, down the next. I'm glad I bought this tape, even though I am definitely the poorer for it. :)

Summary: What happened???
Review: After all the drama and great animation from the previous DVD, "Shadow of the Wolf", this one was by far... boring. Yes, we meet a new character, Misao, and we finally see Shishio, but the drawings were just plain terrible compared to SOTW and the story was very boring. I was disappointed because I am a huge fan of Rurouni Kenshin. At least the animators should've taken their time instead of rushing their artwork. I'm still hopeful that the next ones will be better.

Summary: Meet Makimachi Misao
Review: After leaving a grief striken Kaoru, Kenshin feeling awfuly terrible. As he sits and thinks how everybody must be angry at him for leaving so suddenly, he hears a scream. He observes how a band of men are easily tricked to handing over their money to a 16 year old....sort of. It turns out that she to is headed in the same direction as Kenshin. To Kyoto. It turns out that she's looking for the Oniwaban group, not knowing that all with Aoshi were killed save himself. Kenshin reluctantly gains a traveling partner all the way to Kyoto. These episodes are humor filled unlike the previous episodes, until the last episode on the DVD. Which goes directly into the nity grity. For Rurouni Kenshin fans, this would be a great addition to your collection

Summary: Ok... Annoying little girl... and a let down after Wolf...
Review: Ok... every Kenshin is good... it's great... it's worth the money. But having to watch Ice Blue Eyes after what Shadow of the Wolf was like... i mean seriously... here we have Kenshin entering his Revolution days... a repeat of the Kurogassa event, and then he leaves, a big dramatic moment, ok lets shed a few tears... (sob... sob) Alright now for a slap in the face with the Japanese and their habit of Alternating Serious with the Commical... Well this time was it SuperSerious and dramatic Shadow of the Wolf against he willy-nilly and slap stick silly, almost annoying Ice Blue eyes. They made eachother more of an extreme in their own catagories just by being back to back. Ok... every Kenshin is worth seeing and if you are a Kenshin fan then yes, do get this. But i'm just giving you fair warning, do not end your night with it. Continue on or stop just before it... it'll ruin the end. I was feeling really good and gunhoe about it all after shadow of the Wolf, but then it was all destroyed by Ice'eye's light hearted commedy covering the underlying serious nature of the situation. Eghad... i couldn't give Kenshin anything but 5 stars but this just doesn't live up to Kenshin, especially following Shadow'Wolf.

Summary: Aoshi makes it worth it
Review: Okay, while a dedicated Kenshin fan, I must confess I did not really appreciate or even like the character of Misao until the latter episodes of the Kyoto arc. However, I fell in love with Aoshi. For all of you "fan girls" he could be termed "dreamy." Yet that is not what drew me to this character at all. Yes, the eyes are lovely, but Aoshi's development through the series is what really make my legs weak.
So stoic, indifferent, and lacking in emotion to the casual observer. So silent, strong, and dedicated to his life's path and purpose. So mysterious, an enigma. So secretly compassionate, caring, and loyal to those he holds dear. Even though he does clash with Kenshin, how can you help but have a soft spot for this guy in your anime-loving heart.
If I had a little extra cash and a craving for the strong, silent type, Aoshi would almost convince me to buy this DVD... almost. Sadly, I'm stingy as hell with my money, but that's no reason why others should not get ultimate entertainment out of it. Enjoy!

Summary: Rurouni Kenshin continues to rule...
Review: Rurouni Kenshin is up to its eighth DVD volume, and its consistent quality continues to satisfy. The story continues with Kenshin on his journey to Kyoto, and he meets up with characters new and old along the way. The DVD is solid technically as well, with high video/audio quality, and nice menus and extras. Rurouni Kenshin is an awesome anime series, highly recommended.

Summary: The Kyoto Arc Takes Its First Steps
Review: The first major step into the Kyoto Arc, following the catastrophic arrival of Saitoh, and Kenshin's subsequent abandonment of his gang. He meets his first companion, 16-year-old Misao Makimachi, a member of the Oniwabanshu who has been searching for her friends--the same crew Kenshin obliterated in earlier in the series. Tensions are high as Kenshin knows Shishio could very well strike anywhere at anytime. To recap for newbies, the Rurouni Kenshin series follows Himura Kenshin, once the most feared Hitokiri or assassin of the Bakumatsu, a violent era in feudal Japan where power was up for grabs. He has and continues to wander Japan keeping his vow not to kill and fighting with a reverse-edged sword. This is the first dark step in the series as the chance upon the bloodied corpse of a man, his unconscious younger brother in his arms. Kenshin, Saito and Misao get to confront Shishio, but only get to fight the beast left in the village, a tights-clad, axe-knuckles-wearing hulk named Senkaku. We are also first introduced to Shishio's right hand man, and perhaps the most dangerous of his Ten Swords, Soujiro. This is a complete emotional volume from a complete series. The light-hearted moments in the beginning are tempered by the serious and heartbreaking scenes in the middle; the tension is on a constant high throughout all the episodes featured here. Kenshin's urge to return to his darker, killing side doesn't quite surface yet, but the young, talented Soujiro, will create a tremendous obstacle during their first swordfight. Highly recommended and necessary for Kenshin fans; there's also enough of flashbacks and information for you to view this DVD on its own, and have some, but not a complete idea, of what is going on. Get the series if you can.

Review: this dvd is also another dvd without all the fillers. This is the 8th dvd is the series with episodes 32-35. In this dvd kenshin meets a young girl by the name of Misao, another great character. No anime fan should be without watching it.

Summary: Iced Blue Goodness
Review: This DVD is the start of the new storyline for Rurouni Kenshin, Kenshin. Kaoru, heartbroken by Kenshin, is laying in bed practicaly paralyzed untill Megumi offers some encouragement to go and find Kenshin. Meanwhile once again a Rurouni, Kenshin is traveling through a forest where he encounters a young girl named Misao Makimachi who is beating up a few thugs. She then ends up attempting to rob Kenshin, then ends up tagging along for the adventure. This DVD is more comedy than actual storyline movement, but it's still a must-have

Summary: Way cool quartet of episodes!
Review: This is absolutely hilarious! I love it! Everyone in Tokyo is depressed because Kenshin left, and you almost want to cry with them(especially when Ayame and Suzume realize that he is gone). Then, Kenshin meets Makimachi Misao and craziness ensues! The ninja girl is totally hyper, and she never shuts up. But she's really funny, and makes a wide variety of cute faces. She's even cute and funny when she's cussing at Kenshin! Wai! In addition to Misao, Aoshi comes back! He was one of my favorite characters from the first season (and considering that I liked almost everyone but the villains, that's saying a lot). So, he's back, and I can't wait to see what happens when he and Misao (not to mention he and Kenshin) meet up again. The animation is wonderful, and the fights are still majorly cool. Kenshin doesn't get to fight much in this one, but I'm still recovering from his awesome fight with Saito in the last volume, so I didn't feel the loss too much. And I am looking forward to seeing more Misao-action. Like always, the subbed version is magnificent and the English dubbed version needs to be destroyed. I cannot get over how HORRIBLE the English voice actors are! I recommend this to any and every Rurouni Kenshin fan!
