Review: they should've ended the fushigi yuugi series after the second ova. this one was completely off the wall and extremely disappointing. the storyline (described in various other reviews here) was a stretch and shouldn't have been realised into an actual animated set. don't even bother wasting your time with it.

Review: this is the worst episoded of fushigi yugi that i've ever seen. after watching this, it completely ruin my likein toward the anime. There isn't really a plot and the characters aren't well develope. they don't stay true to themselves, there were too much changes. one of the reason that i like fy so much is the characters' personality and the character themself but in this DVD they all acted so different. not to mention that the fighting scene aren't that good. all in all, if i've known it was that bad, i never would've bought it (and i have all the tv episode and OVA, that's saying a lot that how much dislike this dvd)

Review: well first off i'd just like to quickly digress and say I'd just like to concur with one review that says that the wedding was rushed because Miaka was pregnant (I'd just like to correct that and say *spoilers* that Keisuke said Miaka's pregnancy produced a HONEYMOON baby...)
well.. going back to the OVA...
over all it was subpar. i think i can say for a lot of fushigi yuugi fans when i say it was a bit disappointing.
i mean yes... it was great seeing the kawaii reincarnations of the suzaku seishi and the CG wasn't bad, but it just didnt' seem to fit in.
and the animation was a bit different o.O but man oh man... tasuki.. lol.. so very nice ^^
but yes... the plot was a bit watery and kinda weird. i'm just going to say that eikoden will probably not be remembered for its plot, it'll probably be remembered for its new character Mayo (Mah-yo)... jealous, misguided, little Mayo
and some will probably say that this isn't watase's best work, and i say 'good call, because it's not her work' lol.. just a little fyi, eikoden was a just a fan work which was fully approved by watase-sensei ^_^ (if i remember correctly)
but still.. even if it were to be her work, it still isn't her best.. but then again, that's what you get sometimes when you get a higher demand for something... i mean look at sailormoon and the super S season... (no offense to you die hard fans of super s) i'm just saying it wasn't up to par or even exceptional, and will probably be remembered as the season or series that was just there...
but just to summarize, eikoden subpar, but still worth watching if you're just a die hard fushigi yuugi fan like myself and many others.

Summary: Wow, Watase should have just stopped while she was ahead.
Review: Wow. That's all I can really say. If the plot of Eikoden got any weaker...oh wait, that's probably not possible. The series was awesome, the second and first OVA's were pretty good, too. But Eikoden managed to take every single character in it and ruin it. It was actually pretty painful to watch, especially since I enjoyed the series. But, at least she didn't screw up Keisuke.

Summary: Better than the previous OVAs, at least
Review: Yes, more Fushigi Yugi. I am happy to say that while Eikoden has its failings, it is leagues beyond its predecessor (the first two OVA series, which I pretty much hated).The main focus of this story, Mayo, is a snotty brat whose obsession with Tamahome/Taka causes her to go into the Universe of the Four Gods herself and become the new Priestess of Suzaku. Taka follows and once again gathers his comrades to face still another threat to the peace of Konan. While this OVA again ignores some facts that were established in the original series, it is less annoying than it was in the first two OVAs. While Mayo remains without my sympathy to the end (despite some feeble attempts to turn opinions otherwise), there are several great scenes that will make Eikoden worth owning--namely, anything with reincarnated!Nuriko; my love for that kid knows no bounds. The scene where the regathered Seven are sitting around Mayo in the temple has some priceless moments, and the umpteenth summoning of Suzaku is appropriately dramatic. There's some awkward CG that doesn't quite blend with the rest of the animation (which, by the way, is fantastic), but it's infrequent enough to be ignored. Also, it should be noted that the opening song, Chijou no Seiza, is beautiful, and well worth the hunt it takes to find it for download or purchase. All in all, not a 100% disappointment, and a definite improvement to the other OVAs.
