Summary: Don't believe the hype!
Review: If one was to go by the amount of web pages and gushing praise knocking about out there for this anime, it would be quite easy to believe it to be the best, most innovative and original, high quality and engrossing animes ever made. It isn't, at least not in my humble opinion. Do not get me wrong, this is an entertaining and enjoyably cute show, but dear lord, not vey original, is it? Clueless, loveable loser finds himself surrounded by adorable girls, then proceeds to spend his time falling all over them, walking in on them undressing, in the hot tub... ever heard it all before? The only redeeming feature of the storyline is the fact that, for once, the majority of said chickadees never really seem that interested in the loveable loser, and it takes the best part of a series for genuine mutual attraction to develop. At the end of the day, however, this strays dangerously close to mediocre teen soap territory much of the time, though there are some stand-out episodes among the mulch. An inoffensive way to pass the time, but one that never really manages to be more than the sum of its parts.

Review: Episode 1:
Long ago when Keitaro was only 5 or so, he made a promise with a girl to go to Tokyo U. They believed that they would live happily ever after. He's now 20, he has forgotten everything about the girl except for the promise and because of that, he is still trying to get accepted into Tokyo U. for the third time. At school, his two friends Haitani and Shirai tell him about a girl who's #1 in the nation. After a not-too-pleasant encounter with her, he goes to Hinata Inn.He gets an uncustomary welcome to say the least, but eventually takes the job of the manager while having the residents believe he's a Tokyo U. student. At first, Keitaro is uneasy with deception, but his aunt Haruka tells him that it's okay. However, one of the residents, Naru, overhears Haruka's and Keitaro's conversation and realizes she's seen him at the prep school and quickly figures out that he's not a Tokyo U. student. But despite this revelation, she helps him keep the secret. Episode 2: Shinbo's feels like she has no control over and her life is very much like following arrows signs. Shinobu's mom has decided that she and Shinobu will move out and leave Shinobu's father. Despites being unpopular and lonely at school, she doesn't want to leave the city. When she goes out and takes a walk, she encounters Keitaro drawing her and discovers he's a resident of Hinata Inn. She tries to return the book, but it only embarrasses Keitaro. Meanwhile, the residents at Hinata Inn are in need of a good dinner and head to the restaurant owned by Shinobu's parents, only to find that it's closing. They decide to throw Shinobu a going away party. At the party, they discover that Shinobu's an excellent cook. After some convincing, her parents let her stay at Hinata Inn. Shinobu also realizes this is a new chance at life and starts to make good use of it. Episode 3:
Motoko has come back from training camp and encounters Shirai, Haitani, and Keitaro, who have just failed another prep exam. Shirai and Haitani see Motoko and her followers and try to get a date but get beat up by her. However, she gets a strange feeling when seeing Keitaro. When Keitaro returns home, he sees Motoko in the laundry room. When the residents tell Motoko that he's the manager, she stubbornly refuses to accept it. When Keitaro tries to get to know Motoko, she beats him up again, but she faints upon seeing him. She remembers how her sister was taken away by another man, and ends up figuring that she's in love. And so she's set on getting rid of Keitaro before he can distract her from her training. It turns out that she's just sick, but as a result, she yet again goes after Keitaro for taking advantage of her sickness. In the end, Keitaro saves her from the room, but drops an important item, his student ID. Episode 4:
Keitaro gets caught for lying about being a student at Tokyo U., but Naru covers for him by saying that if he gets in, he would be lying. However, in order to stay, they still make him do his manager duties as well as study for the entrance exam. When he's studying with Naru, she asks him why he's so insistent on Tokyo U. He tells her it's because of a promise. As he is fixing the hole in Naru's floor/his ceiling, he gets a glance at her diary and gets the idea that Naru could be that girl from his past. Afterwards, she completely ignores him. After the prep exam, Naru did well, but Keitaro thinks he bombed, so he decides to run away. However, all his stuff is still in the building, so he sneaks in and gets his stuff. Naru realizes Keitaro is the person in the burglar outfit. At first, Naru thinks it's best for him to run away, but Haruka makes her remember her situation. So they go look for him, and Naru finds him at Tokyo U. Keitaro now is certain she's the girl from his past. Back home, Keitaro finds out he made the cutoff for the prep exam. This DVD was easily one of my favorites. Buy it, and maybe you'll like it as much as I did! Or maybe even MORE!

Summary: You'll laugh soo hard!!!
Review: If you haven't seen Love Hina I recommend getting the dvd or vhs because it's excellent! The series itself is just hilarious. The story of why Keitaro wants to go to a specific university is for a promise he made when he was little to a girl. *awww* isn't that sweet? Don't we all dream of those romantic mushy stuff? Well don't you worry, because this will along with tons of laughs! ^_~ You should get this dvd with the series box because after watching these first 4 episodes you'll want the entire collection. There is a total of 26 tv episodes, along with specials (Christmas, spring break, etc).

Summary: Great Series, OK Dub
Review: This is the first of six DVD's of the Love Hina series and it comes with a box to store everything in. The series is one of the best "harem" genre anime in existance. Harem anime stars a loser guy who finds himself surrounded by hot babes. Usually several (if not all) of the girls have the hots for him. This DVD contains the first four episodes of the series and establish nicely the central characters and background for the overall romance story arc. The stories are well writen, the characters are well developed (by the time the series ends), and there is plenty of great humor. The reason I did not rate this as 5-stars was the DVD itself. Sadly, the English dubbing is not that great. It is "OK" but having Kitsune voiced as a southerner with an over-the-top accent really made me cringe! Su's voice actor didn't do much better. There are very few extra's on the DVD, so why not add a fifth episode? Bottom line: "Love Hina" is a great series and well-worth having in you collection! Good humor, fun stories, and a sweet romance overall arc make this one of anime's finest.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: To be honest, there are few animes that I watch more than once. Love Hina, I have watched over three times. I ended up getting the entire TV season plus the special in under a week. My bank account cries. Let's get down to business though. The music of the series is great. It is supports the plot and action of the moment perfectly. Surprisingly as well it sounds that a great deal of the music is orchestrated, which surprises me. The animation is also wonderful. The artists really bring out the mood of the characters by displaying them in different ways. If someone is sad they use one style to compliment that emotion. Overall they did perfectly. The plot... I feel I cannot say enough about it. It builds you up to a climax, and drops you off, and repeats. Sometimes it will do this several times in a single episode. The plot itself is entrapping and locked me inside till I was unknowingly purchasing the entire series. The plot is the strongest facet of this anime. The dubbing is good, but not perfect. There are several occasions that I noticed a lack of emotion, or perhaps a bit too much. It's not noticable, but if you listen, you can see the flaws that I have. Overall, I'd say this...If you are looking for a powerful, moving plotline with characters that are odd yet relate to many of our characteristics and feels...well you must see this. If you are looking for a traditional love story with a knightly character and a damsel in distress, I would suggest not watching this. This series is the "untraditional love story" at its best. Don't take my word for it though, go out there are start watching it. Be warned that it is hard not to finish the series and is even harder to go without. I think I need to go to rehab. Summary: My favorite anime series
Review: I got the first volume because this site kept recommending it to me and, since I had read good things about it, I bought it. Love Hina has since become my favorite anime series of all time. Part of it is that I am partial to this type of series (one guy with many pretty girls) but Love Hina goes a step further. The girls' characters eventually develop quite a bit and you learn some of the reasons they act the way they do. Also, there is lots of humor, including Kaolla at the controls of a fleet of (fully functional) miniature tanks in the first episode. This series starts off good, and it will only get better as the series proceeds. Every otaku should watch at least the first volume. If you don't, you'll miss out on the goodness that is Love Hina!

Summary: A Funny and touching series!
Review: When I first saw this item I was a bit worried whether or not I would like it because I was more into the action packed anime that had dramatic elements, like Neon Genesis Evangelion. Despite my fears, I decided to buy it anyway. And I am really happy that I did.
This series is funny in more ways than one. It gives us a humorous look into the life of a boy who is the manager of an all girls dormitory. The situations he manages to get in are both funny and appealing, because most of the time, they could be something that people today go through, even if some are rather farfetched.
Overall, this series has made a lasting impression on me and although it is not my absolute favorite anime series (Neon Genesis Evangelion is) this collection is worth almost every penny you pay. Love Hina is the kind of series that you could sit down and watch in one day, giving you a beautiful look on not just love, but life.

Summary: Hopeless Romantics BEWARE!!!
Review: For all those dorks nerds and dwebs out there that have always fantisized about getting that dream girl this is the series for you. The classic dork (he proves hes not a nerd) ends up working at a girls dormitory. This has to be my favorite anime series ever. The characters are all predictable and that's what makes this series so great. There is some strange pleasure in seeing the main character fly through the air after being punched from 100 yards away. Anime is great because it shows the feelings of the characters in ways you normaly would get to see. I am Funnoodlehead and I am a hopeless romantic. Hey its in the Bible!

Summary: A Classic!
Review: I have heard about this series for a long time and when i finaly got it i loved it. Simply put this anime is amazing, fun and adictive. You will find yourself watching it many times before you even think about thinking about something else and when your bored just buy the next one (its just this easy!) The thing i liked best are the cute girls (Especialy Naru, that girl is hot!).....ahem....Well seriously this DVD is great. Just go out and buy it. You will enjoy every minute of it and then when its over you will be begging for more fun times with the Love Hina Crew. A definate buy!

Summary: The best anime of all time!
Review: After hearing about Love Hina for several years, I decided to buy the first DVD. And I was amazed. I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong. It was really wonderful, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm getting all the other volumes, plus the Christmas Movie for Christmas. I reccomend Love Hina to anyone who likes a good laugh. This DVD cotains the 1st 4 episodes of Love Hina, and might I say, the english voice actors do a very nice job, and the music is very pretty. I am so addicted to the song I must hear it all the time! I think Su, Shinobu, and Naru are very cute, and are drawn nicely. Both their English and Japanese voices are done very good. Episode 1-20-year-old Keitaro Urashima is trying to get into Tokyo University for the 3rd time, since he made a promise to a girl 15 years ago. Only, he can't remember who the girl is. His grandmother Hina Urashima is leaving the Hinata Apartments, and has chosen Keitaro to be the new manager. When he arrives, he hops into the hotsprings bath. He is surprised when he finds out that he went into the women's bath, and that it was an all-girl dormitory. The girls cannot accept them as the new manager.
Episode 2-7th grader Shinobu Maehara's always getting picked on at school, and her parents are going to get divorced, which will mean Shinobu will have to move away. But she doesn't want to. Earlier in episode 1, Keitaro was drawing her, when he dropped his sketchbook, and Shinobu tries to return it to him. She becomes acquainted with everyone, and they invite her to a good-bye party. Unfortunatley, she ends up doing all the work. When her parents come looking for her, they find out she wants to stay at the Hinata Apartments, so she does.
Episode 3-Motoko Aoyama returns from her long retreat, and mistakes Keitaro as a stalker. She challenges him to a dual, but she comes down with a cold.
Episode 4-Keitaro and Naru go to take their exams into Tokyo U, but after Keitaro takes it, he has to grade it himself. He knows he won't make it. When he found out he got the first 3 questions wrong,he stopped. But later, he finds out that he did fail. Who knows? Maybe he will make it in later in the series?
