Summary: An excellent closing to an excellent OVA!!
Review: RK OVA is one of the most well animated films I've ever seen. The voice actors and actresses were wonderful(Well, the Japanese ones were). If you want a relief from blood from the first DVD, this is one you'll want to see. It is much more peaceful and more romantic. The closing is rather dramatic and stunning as well. Watch this or I'll never forgive you!!

Summary: Magnificent-looking film is a masterpiece of living artwork
Review: This film is a beautifully detailed piece of living artwork. Samurai X pushes the envelope of the high standards of animation we have come to know. Highly stylized, almost claustrophobicly atmospheric, the art, action and characters are some of the best Anime has ever produced. Highly recommended.

Summary: Wow....Powerful
Review: Now this is what I consider art. Both artful in its action and character build-up. This film has probably one of the most characters in it and is totally an emotional film. The storyline is also great. I dont know what else I can say except this is probably my second favorite anime of all times. My first favorite is probably the hajime no ippo series.

Summary: Stunning Conclusion to the OVA
Review: This volume deals with issues of protection, revolution, the harsh reality of changing a government, and obviously betrayal.

Kenshin and Tomoe are living as husband and wife in a safe house in Otsu, after escaping from Kyoto. Little does Kenshin realise that this is merely a pretense for the traitor to dull Kenshin's skills, to make him easier for the Shogunate to eliminate.

We learn how Kenshin receives the second half of his scar, and while I will not give it away, suffice it to say that you will not see it coming.

Summary: EXCELLENT: My favorite anime of all time.
Review: If you like the Rurouni Kenshin TV series, then the OAVs (Samurai X, Trust and Betrayal) are a MUST OWN to fill in background material and completely set the stage for the whole plot. The four episodes of the OAV's have some of the very best animation I have ever seen it is almost like watching a live action movie. Samurai X, Trust and Betrayal is the best anime I have ever seen., the story is powerful, and the character development is very well done. Samurai X, Trust and Betrayal is a masterpiece, an anime that makes you think, makes you feel for each of the characters, and captures your emotions from beginning 'till the very end.

Summary: SImply the best OVA series!
Review: Rurouni Kenshin. One word can describe the feeling of these episodes; beautiful. From its timeless animation to stunning music, Betrayal and Trust are what modern society should call a masterpiece. Even though these 4 episodes in Betrayal and Trust are drenched in blood, this OVA series remind you of how peaceful our lives are. Every aspect of this anime is great, except the horrific dubbing. Even if you aren't a anime fan, Betrayal and Trust are worth watching. Yes, there are that good...

Summary: OAVs are Best Kenshin Movies ever
Review: If you like the series or the movie, you'll love the OAVs. In the series you only hear about kenshin being the battosai. In the OAVs he is the battosai. It is just amazing watching him actually fight and kill his opponents. Plus, the OAVs completaly set the whole plot. The story line is amazing. It has love, Trust, and Betrayal all included to produse some of the best anime you have ever seen.

If you have a question...

Summary: True Masterpiece
Review: It comes a time when a Anime series get such attention, adoration, and popularity, that the industry makes a Movie/OAV of the anime series. Most of the time, fans are so hyped by the media and friends, they tend to overvalue something that really is subpar product. But worst of all, it's never as good as the original anime series.. (exception of others ex:Ranma/Drangon ball etc..)
Samura x (Ruroni Kenshin) - Trust and Betrayal, is one of those rare Anime Films that overcomes the general expectation but also surpasses the original. Gone are the light humor and slapstick that fans of Rurouni Kenshin are use to. In are the past reflection of Rurouni Kenshin from his youth to how he became the most feared Battousai in the past historical time of military dictatorship of the Tokugawa Shogunate and how the power to the Emperor return in the Meiji Restoration of 1868. It also shows the reflection of violence and gore (as a symbol of the harsh reality of battle, death, and corruption) which was the true essential formula that the director Kazuhiro Furuhashi used to display in this film. You don't have to be the fan of the original TV series to watch this four part OAV series. I, like many other Kenshin fans, saw the OVA version before the anime series... and was hooked.

I decided to submitt my review after reading "*" star review of this anime film. If your a anime/manga fan, violence comes with the territory. If a realistic views of death in a battle is a major problem with anime such a Samurai X, obviously your better off watching the "sailor moon" or "pokemon".. or maybe Japanese Anime aren't MEANT FOR YOU!!! (although even those anime series shows some form of violence.) Just think how materpiece movies like "Saving Private Ryan" or even "BraveHeart" display violence and gore in a form which gives the viewers the true realistc vision of violence of death in the field of battle.

Samurai X (X for X scar on Kenshin's face) was created after the TV series to show the dark, serious side of Kenshin Himura(Shinta), and how traumatizing past events lead to what he is now. How happy youthful young boy named Shinta becomes a witness to a gruesome death of defenseless people who tries to protect him 'till the end..with their lives. This event leads Kenshin with a desire to become the worlds most feared and the best swordsman alive for one mission: to use his skills to protect the weak and end the senseless corruptions..to kill for a better world. But life he chooses to live as a feared angel of death (revenge) has no place for feelings.. that is until he meets a young girl named Tomoe, and discovers the true sense of justice, but most of all.. loss of a loved one.

Samurai X is definitely not another Ninja Scroll. There are no monsters or special powers that evil characters posses, but a siplay of a realistic swordsmanship. If your looking for fireballs and flying ninjas then be dissapointed. But if your a true anime fan of a beautiful story line, deep character developement with love and deception, this masterpiece is a MUST OWN. It's one of those rare anime films that makes you feel for the each characters and capture your emotions from beginning 'till the very end.
