Summary: =sighs= Dissapionting continuation of a great TV series
Review: I love the Kenshin TV series, I truely do, but it is such a dissapointment that the animation company didn't animate the Jinchuu Arc of the manga, and put out this not so great 3rd season.

Now while the 3rd season isn't so great, this DVD, in all actuality, is an amusing DVD in itself. Some of the episodes I found medicore, but I love the episode of a dog following around Sanosuke, and the "engagment" episode ^^x() Oopsies I said to much didn't I? >^^<

It is a dissapointment to the great drama of the Kyoto Arc, but they still held the same ol' Kenshin comedy in these episodes. So what if they're only filler? They're still entertaining. Art is still well done, and the animation the same. Altho' it seems like the animators got addicted to the "widescreen" effect for they did it in one of these episodes as they did for teh Shishio fight. (What works for the Shishio fight, since it's dramatic and all, does NOT work for some little side story. Just makes it seem... odd...)

In short, if you're looking for a great beginning to a great new, dramatic arc of the Kenshin saga, you'll be dissapointed. But if you're just a Kenshin fan and don't really care regardless then it's worth the buy.

Summary: Rurouni Kenshin Firefly wish
Review: I was disapported. I thought that they could have done better on the last eposied. I love Kenshin but it wasn't what i thought it to be. I liked the one with sano and the dog and the first one to but still they could have more. Likr Kenshin thoughts after the first eposied and in the last one two.

Summary: The 1st episode is great! but the last 3 are mediocre....
Review: I've loved Rurouni Kenshin so far, but I have to say that the episodes on this DVD just failed to capture me. Although the first episode was quite good, I thought the last three episodes were weaker then even some of the episodes from the first arc.

The best episode on the DVD is the very first one when Kenshin goes fishing and listens to an old man's story which I would have given 4 or 5 stars on its own. It's just a solid episode with good story - albeit not one about any of the main characters. The animation is also quite good on this one. (BTW, for those of you who watched the OVA, do you think that Kenshin was thinking of Tomoe or Kaoru when he brought the iris?).

The last three episodes are amusing but a little over the top in terms of Ranma-esque humor (but not done as well as Ranma). I don't mind the lack of a longer story arc like Kyoto since I did like the episodes before the Kyoto arc, but these episodes just aren't as strong. They're a bit more on the level of the circus story or the train robbery from the first arc but with less fighting and adventure and more gags and soap opera.

I think that I'll continue to watch RK to see if the larger story with the Christian sect is better, but you might consider borrowing or renting this DVD if you feel the need to see these or just skip it rather than buying it.

Summary: Most overrated anime of all time!!
Review: Listen up RK fans, this show not only sucks, but is probably the most overrated anime in history!! Why do people love this so much?!! This is just like a samarai version of Trigun, which sucked too. Its about a samarai who killed many people in the past to help establish a barbaric dictatorship. Just like how Vash destroyed entire cities and ruined millions of lives. Now Kenshin is fighting the members of the dictatorship, but he doesn't kill them. Just like how Vash doesn't kill his foes. Kenshin is a quiet character but he's somehow an UNBEATABLE swordsman. Just like how Vash is a complete goofball but he's an UNBEATABLE gunman. After seeing this crappy series, I wanted to puke!! At least Kenshin dies on the last episode, which I thought was deserved. I hate this anime with a passion. RK has gotten too much praise and not enough criticism, simple as that. I suggest you watch Ninja Scroll over this crap. That was a billion times better than RK. Ninja Scroll forever Rurouni Kenshin never!!!!

Summary: Ok... a little peace and quiet... but do we really want it?
Review: Not really. It'd be nice to get some sitcom style episodes in to lighten things up... but just as things were getting big and grande we have a let down. Well it's a time to reflect upon what has just happened and it's time to visit some old graves... harkening back to Kenshin's Samurai X OVA's... i think at least. But then there wasn't a grave... you'll see. And there are some mischievous matchmakers running around with a lost ring and all powerful and mighty swordsman Kenshin turns na?ve and clueless once again. They part with their friends in Kyoto and head back for Tokyo. There's a priceless blooper in the Extras. Make sure you turn down the volume in the Menu... it's really loud. This DVD is a filler DVD altogether that lets us down from the high intense action of the Kyoto arc and it starts another series of smaller episodes and short spanning sets. I recommend this DVD just for the fun of it. It's a lot better than Fall from Grace. The next several DVD's are one of those short spanning sets... though a lot longer than anything in the Wandering Samurai arc... about 2 DVD's and 1 episode. It's worth getting... maybe just renting if you don't like filler episodes.

Summary: Pretty good, but I could have expected more for [money amount]
Review: Pretty good episodes... But there was the slight lack of action... Anyways the Extras include Outtakes, which is when the voice actors mess up on they're diologue. Then there's the liner's notes, where the dude who translated the this anime Japanese to English, which preety much says descriptions of the Japanese words the say on the optional English dub. The other standered stuff is English, English with English subtitles, and Japanese with English subtitles.

Summary: A wish for the future
Review: The first volume of Tales of the Meiji, the third arc of the Rurouni Kenshin story. After returning from Kyoto, Kenshin, Sanosuke and the others are looking for a rest from the ghosts of the Revolution. Despite Yahiko being mistaken for a foreign prince and Sanosuke finding a treasure-hiding dog, peace prevails at the Kamiya dojo. During this breather, Kenshin and Karou think back to the one moment they had together among the fireflies. Kenshin may still be haunted by the love he buried in the past, but now he has the chance for a wish for the future.

Summary: After Kyoto Arc
Review: These episodes take place after the end of the Kyoto arc and the Kenshin gumi are settling back down in Tokyo. These are basically filler episodes, but they are indeed fun to watch nonetheless. (Filler episodes are episodes where there is no big plot moving event, they're just there to fill the space between the more important events). However I enjoyed watching these episodes for just some light-hearted viewing. The episodes range from serious to funny, such as the story of another ex-hitokiri (assasin)who tells his tale to Kenshin, and the episode about a prince from China who looks quite oddly identical to Yahiko... I recommend you watch this in it's original Japanese language with sub-titles, the character's true personality is always better preserved when they are not dubbed ^_^x
