Summary: Great! but I think you should read this!!!
Review: Dear whoever this may consurn, This is not really a review but some good advice. I did see this movie and I didn't think it was bad at all, but all of these movies where made years ago. I have a friend who is Japanese, and I have seen the new Dragon Ball cartoons. I must saw that they are alot better. All these are when Goku and Vigeta are weak!!! There are so many more characters then what you are selling now. I know that you guys arn't the company that dubs these movies, but can you give their web site so I can e-mail them? Thank you, and please write back!

Summary: DRAGON BALL!!!!
Review: The Dragon Ball series is by far the most entertaining and interesting anime I have ever seen. Some episodes are silly and funny while others are insane battles between warriors who can focus energy into blasts. It wraps up to be the best thing that possilby be on your television.

Summary: Edited and not original
Review: This DVD set edits out much of the original. I personally do not like it edited and would like to see the original version. Some of the voices don't sound like the original and they put this cheap looking underwear on Goku. It looks bad if you get this DVD.

DO NOT GET THE REGION 4 DVD FROM AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!! You can not play this on any American DVD player unless it specically says that it is multi-region. That is going to cost around 200 dollars! It may work on your computer, but I rather watch it on my TV. I am almost positive that they will release the same DVD set you can by in Australia in America in the region one coding. We just need to wait a while. The company is almost done releasing all the Dragonball series on DVD and only have the Tien and Pilaf Saga left. Just be patient and it will eventually come out in America.

Summary: Good box set, but you could get a better version, same price
Review: Reading the reviews, I became tired of people trashing the english dub of the TV series of Dragonball.

I enjoyed the voices & the dialogue ie writing of the first 13 episodes, especially Bulma, Shao, Pilaf, Yamcha, Ooolong, Turtle, the announcer & Puar vs the replacements they got for the mentioned characters in later episodes.

I found the writing to be extremely funny in a post-modern way ie in the first episode when the pre-historic bird grabs bulma & is flying away, he says: "Stop screaming, I'm in the mood for a happy meal".

Contrast this extremely funny dialogue vs Japanese version: "It's been a long time since I had a human. I going to enjoy you, skin and all". THis I thought was less funny & a bit disgusting if you think about it.

As stated earlier, I have seen the Jap version later and although it was good bec of the perverted version, I found the voices for puar, oolong, Yamcha, Ox-king at bit off-putting and the dialogue to be very conventional.

I loved the English shao & pilaf voices in the 13 episodes vs japanese versions of shao & pilaf

I enjoyed watching the cut dragonballs & comparing it w/ the uncut bec it was fun to see how they could change/edit to make sense of what was happening.

The only reason to watch uncut is to see Master Roshi in "action". Otherwise there is no reason to really see it uncut.

And character-wise, the set is more character-driven vs action driven in later dragonball episodes.

I wish that dragonball would spin-off stand-along version Master Roshi, Bulma, Lunch, Oolong w/o goku as an un-cut series . I find the fighing to be annoying in later Dragonball & especially Dragonball Z.

Summary: ;_;
Review: i hated to leave this rating but i must grade it as 1 star. . . . im a fan of the whole DragonBall/Z/GT anime and i was so happy to see that DragonBall was on DVD but this saga is edited so crappily and so terribly that its so noticible that it was edited. i showed this series to my cousin who is 9 years old and even he noticed the terrible editing and voice-overs i was and AM disappointed in this saga i DONT recommend you to buy this saga for it is NOT true to the anime style. . . . i am however thankful that the other sagas of DragonBall are being released as UNCUT i recommend you to skip this saga and just buy the others going from the Tournement Saga all the way to Piccolo Junior Saga. ;_; i pray that Funimation will release an uncut version soon cause we NEED it and we deserve it

Summary: the severly edited episodes
Review: After watching this one can tell that this was not the recent releases done on cartoon network. If anything after watching this it brings back the thought that this was once released years ago in a severly edited format. Not to say that this is bad or anything because for the most part the story arcs are still there. However the most comedic elements of these episodes like when goku first heres about a bath and Bulma has to bathe him, or the severe pervertedness of Master Roshi are all edited out and replaced with dialouge that is corny or removed entirly. This is an allright set at the right price, and good for little kids. But for fans who have been getting the sagas that funimation has been releasing as of late, I would not bother.
