Summary: Louie Punches Out
Review: The most disappointing thing (possible the only disappointing thing) about this DVD is the last of the series. I was desperately hoping there would be just a little bit more. Rune Soldier Hasn't received the publicity that other recent releases have, yet it has turned out to be the best comic series of the year. It's tale of a young magician who would rather be bar-fighting and his female friends - all of which are more competent than he is.

Louie is just as likely to cause a disaster as he is to do something heroic. When the priestess Melissa discovers that she has been assigned to Louie (who is to be her 'champion') she becomes embroiled is a series of adventures crying all the while "This is against my will." Accompanying them is Merrill, a greedy thief, and Genie, a tough mercenary who has turned to a live of adventure. These and the rest of the endearing cast, as 'Slayers' did several years before, that humor and fantasy work well together.

The first episode has the team coming together to get Merrill through a cold. Melissa volunteers to cover Merrill's jobs and sets a record for number of times fired during a day. Louie to the rescue, with surprising results for Melissa. The remaining episodes have Louie doing what he is supposed to do - helping to stop a revolution that threatens the peace of Ohfun. Suddenly we see another side to our adventurers as they gel into a haphazard, but effective fighting force.

Well, we knew from the beginning that things would work out, but creator Ryo Mizuno has found a new way to underscore several old messages in the process. Without being the least bit overbearing. The viewer is left no alternative but to smile warmly and hope that somehow there will be a second season some day.

Summary: I want more of this!!!!!
Review: This is one of the best comic animes I have ever seen & rivals Ranma 1/2 in my book. And as many others have said, the only disappointment about it is that the series is not complete & seems to have ended after the first season.

Summary: Rune Soldier
Review: This is the most amusing anime I've ever seen. It funny and has a heroic quality. The character development is amazing. I've never seen a series where the characters seem to grow and have such good interaction. The downside is the 6th volune leave you hanging. As a previous reviewer said it appeared to be canceled after one season. I would buy a second season of Louie and friends. I'd recommend this series as a buy!
