Summary: Amazing
Review: That's all I can say about this series. I made sure to order both this and the 2nd volume. This volume contains the first 3 episodes. The plotline has been explained enough, but basically Keiichi (pardon my spelling at these) dialed a wrong number and the next thing he knows Belldandy, a goddess, is in his room. The second episode really focuses on the romance of the two and is really funny. In the third episode, there are "bugs" in the system and Belldandy's younger sister, Skuld decides to give her a visit. In this episode is also a race that Keiichi has more on the line then just his reputation. And the episode ends at a very high point of the series. That's why you should make sure you have both volumes or you will go insane after that third episode.

The animation and the love story is a welcomed change from most animes and I am sure most people will love this series.

Summary: Oh!My Goddesses
Review: It starts with ep. 1... While Keiichi is attempting to order some food, Keiichi accidentally contacts the Goddess Hepline. Soon Afterwards, Belldandy appears offering Keiichi a single wish. Thinking that the whole thing is prank, he asks Belldandy to stay with forever. With the wish approved, the two find themselves irrevocably linked by the Ultimate Force.

and in ep. 2... A mysterious video appears at Keiichi's door. While playing the video, Urd steps out of it. She explains that she is Belldandy's older sister and that she has come to help Keiichi and Belldandy's relationship blossom. Keiichi brings belldandy to the beach where Urd plots to get the two together.

In the 3rd ep.... Just when Keiichi and Belldandy are getting used to life with Urd, a new visitor adds to their already complicated relationship. Skuld, Belldandy's younger sister, wants her to return to the heavens. When Keiichi gets stuck representing the Auto Club in the University Drag Race, Skuld siezes the oppurtunity to hatch a plot to get her sister back.

Summary: Very Cute Romantic Anime
Review: The first three episodes of the "Oh! My Goddess" OVA series are included in Volume 1 of this two volume DVD set. "Oh! My Goddess" is an irrepressibly cute series, marginally Tenchi-esque, in that our hero, Keiichi Morisato, is a young man who comes to live with some mischievous young women that are not from earth. That said, the writers do an excellent job in this series of making it not exactly like Tenchi, giving each of the main characters, Keiichi, his sister Megumi, and the three goddesses, Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld, their own distinct personalities. Even though it is only a five episode series, the characters are developed well enough to make them interesting and appealing.

"Oh! My Goddess" begins with Keiichi, a college freshman at Nekomi Tech, made to do the grunt-work in his all-male dorm, taking phone messages for his 'sempai,' which I assume means the upperclassmen. Unfortunately, they've left him no food. He desperately starts calling for takeout, only to find that all the takeout places are either closed or not delivering. In a moment of classic comic anime serendipity, Keiichi wants food so badly that his desire triggers an unintentioned call to the Goddess Helpline. Before he knows what's happening, a lovely goddess, Belldandy, appears in the dorm, telling an incredulous and shy Keiichi that he can have one wish. He decides in yet another classic moment, that he wants Belldandy to be his girlfriend forever.

Kicked out of the dorm for having a girl on the premises, Keiichi and Belldandy come to live in a deserted shrine, where they are shortly joined by Kei's little sister, Megumi. Over the next two episodes, this little group is joined by two of Belldandy's sisters, the hypererotically charged older sister Urd, and the mechanically genius, but lonely younger sister Skuld. A great deal of the comedy in this first volume of "Oh! My Goddess" comes from Keiichi's repeated attempts to overcome his shyness and make a move on the wonderfully magnanimous Belldandy.

This first DVD contains the first three episodes, "Moonlight and Cherry Blossoms," which introduces the lead couple, "Midsummer Night's Dream," in which five months after Kei and Belldandy move in together, Urd tries her best to force them to hook up, and "Burning Hearts on the Road," where Skuld joins the cast, in the midst of a drag race competition at Nekomi Tech. These are all excellent episodes. The characters play well off of each other, and the stories in these first three episodes are charming and cute. Belldandy is a terrific character, as are Keiichi's two bulked up, often drunk, sempai in the Auto Club, who are great minor characters. The fact that the major social organization in the series (and later in the movie) is an Auto Club, and that they all go to a technical college is just a great touch.

The English voice actors do a good job interpreting the characters, but having watched it in Japanese with English subtitles, I tend to like the Japanese dialogue better. The extras on this DVD include a slide show of cells and drawings from the series, and a clever 'dub your own DVD' feature, which is basically the episodes without dialogue. Volume 1 of the "Oh! My Goddess" DVD set is certainly worth watching and owning.

Summary: Simply Excellent!
Review: In my continuing attempt to collect dvds of good anime, I came upon the OMG series and decided to give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised when I watched it! The story revolves around the relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi and their attempts to stay together. The series reminds me a lot of the Tenchi OVA in the animation and how close Keiichi's and Tenchi's characters are. If you are a fan of Tenchi, you owe it to yourself to look at this series as well.

It is unfortunate that the series ends as quickly as it began. WIth only five episodes, you don't get a real chance to get to know the characters in depth. It is too bad that the characters never get the chance to go on any adventures of hace a longer storyline. ...

Summary: this is the one series you must not miss!
Review: I recently bought the movie to this series. While i did not fully grasp the relationships of the characters,I still enjoyed it, after which I ordered the series straight from Japan. The storyline is one that you would best watch when your girlfriend is with you. It is based on romance, but can be enjoyed by a whole range of anime fans. The comic elements permeate the plot, and it makes for quite the ideal use of time taken to watch it.

Summary: An Anime Fans Must Have/Must See
Review: "Oh, My Goddess" should be on every anime Fans "must have/must see" list. The art, storyline, and dub are top notch. The amount of detail and care, love that went into this series is quite outstanding. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the shortness of the series... I wish they did alot more then just five episodes. None the less, if you do not plan on buying the series then I strongly suggest that you rent it or borrow it... as long as you see it. One of my favourites, "Oh, My Goddess" will not disappoint you. Also check out the movie "Ah, My Goddess".

Summary: An adorable anime for hopeless romantics.
Review: Oh! My Goddess is an anime worthy of both the uninitiated, and seasoned anime veterans alike. It begins, innocently and expectedly with character development and ends in a flare of tense emotion just before a happy ending. Centering around Keichi, a young college student holding down the fort at a men's dorm with nothing to eat, and three goddesses summoned forth one episode apart with an accidental call to the "Goddess Help Line". Belldandy is the first of the trio, and she appears offering Kei a wish when she answers his misplaced take out order. Thinking it a joke, he wishes her by his side forever, and a "contract" is made. Clearly though, there is more than a contract binding this couple to one another, and that is the mystery that unfolds as Kei tries to woo his remarkably innocent girlfriend from the heavens. This is definatly aimed towards people with an idealistic streak, or who at least appriciate such idealism. Love conquers all, and even a small kiss may throw all luck's weight into your favor if it comes from the right person. The extra features on the DVD may not appeal to some, though. There are the standard stills, but you may not page through them at your leisure. Instead, they are themed somewhat to music, and cycle of their own accord. The usual English and Japanese audio tracks are present, as well as subtitled, untitled, and partly titled video. Myself, I do not appriciate the lackluster feel of the dub, but it turns out handy all the same, at least when a younger audience comes to visit. A neat, if not entirely useful extra is an audio track with no voice, only music and sound effects. This track is labeled facinatingly enough "Dub your own Oh! My Goddess". For a real die hard anime fan, it might prove an interesting project. I don't have that kind of fandom, but I do find it interesting. At only 2 DVD's to the complete series, it's only a light footstep in your wallet when compared to many other anime staples of the Americas. Some suggestive scenes are depicted, but nothing serious. If you are light on money, and heavy on romance, this is the anime for you.

Summary: essential watching for any anime lover!
Review: Possible the best comedy/romance anime series of all time. Anyone who likes Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no ceres or Video Girl AI, MUST watch this. Animation, characters and story is simply great.

However.. the video quality of the DVD leaves much to be desired. It uses too much image enhancement to make the picture appear sharper, but leaves behind rainbow artifacts and ghosting at the edges of lines. On Svideo or component cables on a decent tv or on a computer monitor, this will be quite noticeable. Its annoying to me, but bearable; though to other people it might not.
