The ghouls controlled by the primordial demon Noo are wreaking havoc in human space, enslaving men through fear: Captain Herlock alone defies their webs of terror. Herlock dismisses her request, insisting he leads his life as he chooses. His apparent indifference to this threat may cast Herlock in an unsympathetic light, but Leiji Matsumoto's daring space pirate undoubtedly has a plan up his skull-and-crossbones emblazoned sleeve.
