Summary: Bood
Review: Blood: The Last Vampire, while only about 50 minutes long, is one of the best anime flicks yet. ...Even though the plot left a little to be desired, this was still one of the best animes I have ever seen. Like most horror animes, Blood is graphically violent. If you are a fan of action movies like Ninja Scroll, or deeper pictures like Akira or Ghost in the Shell, you should deffinitely check this out. And if you don't feel like shelling out the cash for the DVD, find some other way to watch it, otherwise you'll be missing out.

Summary: FORGET BUFFY! THIS IS THE REAL STUFF.
Review: The animation is unreal way ahead of most anime known today. the story leaves a lot to the imagination and msyteries of its orgin.
powerful messages to the vampiric mind true to samurai custom. The uncut version would be something to see hopefully the next movie will be released soon.

Summary: Not as good as I had hoped
Review: Let me preface this by saying that I compare all action and animation in anime movies to my favorite of all-time, Ninja Scroll. It didn't come close. Second, I am not familiar with the series that this is based upon.

Having said that, I'll talk a little about the animation first. Scenery animation reminded me of the animation from the new Transformers cartoon if you've seen it. I almost thought I was looking at actual video footage at points. It didn't really jive with the depiction of the characters, which was far from realistic - not too many people looked like legitmate human beings.

As far as plot and characterization go, there wasn't too much. I understand that this is based on a manga series, but there is hardly an explanation of the events or any character development here. Some of the battles are decent, but they are far too short. The demon/vampire concept is somewhat interesting but requires further explanation.

I agree with others who say this should have been made into a few hour or more long episodes. The fact that this is so short just adds to the difficulty in understanding what's going on.

Worth a rent, not a purchase, in my opinion. If you are familiar with the series, maybe you'll get more out of this.

Summary: Short but sweet
Review: So, uh, the girl wasn't the vampire, was she? I could have sworn she was outside in the daylight. And what was that stuff about not being able to kill humans?

Well, aside from that, this movie somehow made #3 on my listmaina Anime list. Let's run down the Goods and Bads of this "movie":

Bads:
-Not really movie length. Americans: would you pay 8 bucks to see a 40 minute movie on the big screen? Of course not.
-The lack of a plot. Watching this movie, it seems the creator of "Blood" had a very full plot, he just failed to put it all down on paper. It's almost as if he was purposely teasing us with a partial story line. Also, what there was of a plot was very confusing, trying to determine who was the "last vampire" and what those brown guys were...
-Lack of Character Development. The characters seems as 3-dimentional as the paper they were drawn on... and they were all so cold. I could have cared less who lived or died.

Goods:
-Animation and CGI mixing. This was very well done. It worried me a little before watching it. Having seen past movies fail (see Titan A.E.) when mixing hand-drawn and CGI elements, I was pleased with the way this turned out. Similar to Lain, except Lain used CGI more for the special effects, and less as a setting.
-One word: the subway. The opening credits are the best part of the movie. You learn more about the plot in the subway than anywhere else in the story.
-Action. The movie gets right into the action, starting on the subway, and continuing soon after in the school. Lots of blood, as well. If seeing a young girl get hacked in half disturbs you, then this movie is not for you. The rest of you, you're in for a treat.
-Art direction. Very yummy eye candy. Again, a lot of this was done via CGI, and done very well.

Overall, it's an entertaining 40 or so minutes, but it won't leave you satisfied. You'll almost feel cheated. If it weren't for the amazing CGI, I'd probably be giving it 2, maybe 3 stars.

Summary: two words, THE BEST
Review: Hi folks! This is a really good manga. It's the best after Ghost in the Shell. If you think that you have see all, you are wrong. Picture is perfect, and the plot fantastic. You must got this title. Do as I say. I'm from Argentina and my english is not very good, but think why I'm writing this review? Only 'cause "Blood - The Last Vampire" is worth buying.

Summary: Worth Buying
Review: Blood was recomended by a another anime fan that I met at the store. We both felt that the animation was exceptional. Although the technical side was not as amazing as Final Fantasy, it is defintely the best low budget Japanese style animation I have seen to this day. The story line was not original, but I felt this was worth buying so that I could share it with some friends later. I felt Blood was worth buying, but not a must have; e.g., Ninja Scroll, V. Hunter, Macross, Mononoke, Akira... etc.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Well worth your time and money.
Review: Blood was a pleasure to watch, if you like films such as Ghost In The Shell, then you will like this slick, fast paced horror/action movie. The story takes place in Japan during the Vietnam War and centers around a young "girl" who is on the trail of some bloodthirsty demons.
The artwork is stunning and I liked the fact that it was not dubbed, it is not necessary since characters are speaking both Japanese and English.

Summary: What a piece of dribble and short!
Review: Don't be tricked by the cool cover of this movie. The movie itself is anything but cool.

Ok ok. dont get me wrong, i KIND OF liked the mix of digital and regular animation stuff, and because of that i am giving it two stars instead of only one.

But the animation DOES NOT! make this movie worth buying. It is EXTREMELY SHORT, and the story is so boring and poorly told that it is not worth your time or money.

Summary: Best Animation.. ever... period.
Review: This is the most brilliant looking anime, ever. It's characters feel so alive, and the atmosphere is electric. It's about a vampire hunter. Basically we are thrown into the story, and when it ends you don't even know who was your favourite character and why. The character development is kept to a minimum, but the chills and eerie feeling you get is real. If you just got a DVD player this is an ideal movie to show off the sound and affects.

I have a sneaking suspicion, that the reason other's rated the movie low was just because of the length of the movie. Most of the buyers are probably youngsters who's pocket money is precious and do not appreciate the quality of the movie because of the lack of quantity.

Even I found the movie short, but what I saw excited me. It tingled my senses and it amazed me. Has to be the best animated anime.. ever. If you are expecting this movie to be short, you will enjoy it, as you will not be surprised about the lenght, only delighted with the animation and atmosphere.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: My 2 cents
