Summary: The start of one of the best anime series to date
Review: Man, RK is the best anime ever created, IMHO. The story is about a wandering swordsman named Kenshin Himura, once known as the feared Hitokiri Battousai. Battousai gave up killing and had a special sword forged for him, called the sakabatou, AKA reverse blade sword, which can't kill, since the sharp edge is on the side where the dull side is usually is. While wandering through Tokyo, he meets a indigo haired woman named Kaoru Kamiya, the assistant master of the Kamiya Kasshim Ryu. Later on Kenshin also meets Yahiko Myojin, a descendant of a Samurai and Sansosuke Sagara, a ex-gangster and a former member of the Sekihoutai, a false government army. Thats the overall story for this DVD, 4 eps in total in this one.

Summary: More than just another ninja movie
Review: I'm a gal, and I usually don't like all that nonsense mindless fighting guy anime shows like Dragonball Z. (God, do I hate that show!) Well, this is the first guy hero that I've come across that I actually enjoy watching. Don't miss out on this one gals because it's not another guy flick.

Summary: Kenshin Rules!!
Review: If you don't know who Kenshin Himura is, you should find out by buying this dvd! The animation is excellent and the character of Kenshin is on of the coolest anime characters this side of Cowboy Bebop. Here's a tip on watching, keep your eyes on Kenshin's pupils. When they get small, something cool is about to happen. This dvd doesn't have that many features, but the show itself makes up for that.

Summary: Rurouni Kenshin
Review: This is a wonderful DVD for anyone who loves a funny series, with a mildly serious tone. This DVD, is somewhat like Rumiko Takahashi's "Ranma 1/2". It's very funny, but at times can take a serious tone to it. It's not for someone who likes an intently deep plot, and/or a lot of blood and gore. But, rather, for someone who really likes to just watch something that will lift their spirts and keep them wanting more.

Review: Well, I will let all the other five-star reviews speak about how great Kenshin is. I will just note that there are translations notes! YAY! And that three of the first four episodes have the following plot: "Meet nasty Meiji era person. See nasty Meiji era person threaten life of important character.(...) Not that there aren't other things going on in the episodes, like introducing Yahiko or the police going after Kenshin. I don't mind, but even if the predictability on those 3 episodes bothers you, I think it's pretty well confined to those 3.

Review: I have seen Sailor Moon and Ranma but I don't think I have ever seen a movie like this one. I have become attached to all the characters throughout the series and I think it can become a part of your life too!

Summary: Some of the most interesting characters in anime
Review: This anime has a lot of great characters, situations, comical scenes, and everything that makes up a good, balenced Japanese animation series. If your thinking of getting into this series, I highly recomend seeing it subtitled. The voice for Kenshin is one of the most unique, and enjoyable that I have heard. Those who are also fans of Ueda Yuuji will get to hear him as the agressive fighter-for-hire, Sagara Sanosuke.
The unique thing about this anime is it's ability to alternate between a serious plot line and history, to comical scenes, such as Kenshin's famous one liner; "Oro!"

Summary: In Love All Over Again!!!
Review: Wow! I had a feeling I was going to like this when I first bought it, but if you had told me it was going to make me fall in love with anime in a whole new way I would have never believed you. The first 4 episodes of the shows introduce you to the 4 principal characters. The ever mysterious Kenshin Himura, Kaoru who is spunky as hell but also delivers us most of the insight into Kenshin, the precocious young Yahiko, and last but most certainly not least Sanosuke who is a tough assassian for hire. Sanosuke begins a rivalry with Kenshin, but deep down you can sense a greater force drawing these two together. While primarily trying to make character introductions these first few episodes also set the ground work for future rivalries, upcoming friendships, and endless directions for character growth. Oh, the possibilities... The greatest thing about this series is that it has a wonderful way of mixing the drama with the humour so that neither one seems forced or out of place, plus they throw in a little moral in each episode, just for flavour. I haven't had this much fun watching anime in a long time. It really is just fantastic, I would give it 6 stars if I could!

Summary: Amazingly high quality
Review: I just purchased this DVD, and am now a complete Rurouni FREAK. The colour is wonderful, the story is wonderful, the music will make the blood in your face flow. I am a large fan of Evangelion and Fushigi Yuugi; this series looks to be one of my favourites. As of what I've seen so far, the storyline is amazing and the characters are well-developped. The anime is a period piece, set during the Meiji Restoration, and you'll instantly know where you are and what you are watching. One thing that struck me instantly was the Constables of the city; from the way they act, to the way they look, you know that you're looking at authentic Japan. All in all, this is a wonderful anime with a deep story line and enjoyable characters. One note: A lot of people have complained about the dubbing. I am VERY picky when it comes to dubbing, but I watched it dubbed today due to being on a very small television set - the dubbing was wonderful. Frankly, it couldn't have been better.

Summary: The Best Animé Series I have Seen
Review: Rurouni Kenshin is a must see for any and all animé fans! Heck, even if you AREN'T into animé it's a definate must see! It's seemingly just a comedy(mehbe romantic comedy) like Ranma 1/2 or umm... (GOd I'm drawing a blank, but just trust me on this one kays? ^^() ) Anywho it seems like it's pure comedy but ah, my friend that is just the icing on the chocolate cake(or yellow, depending on what cake you like) Kenshin is a Rurouni or wandering samurai that bumps into a 17-year-old girl who is looking for the Hitokiri Battousai. She mis-assumes that it's him since he has a sword, and he shows her that it's only a sakaba(a sword with the blade on the inner curve as opposed to the outer) and she leaves him be, tossing his sword in the air 'causing him to dance about underneath it going "oroooooooo o,ox" and catching it. The rest is history ^^ The series goes along great and while most of them are filler and don't seem to be going anywhere at all it's a great way to get attached to the characters, which is a must if you want to feel the emotional impact later in the series. As for the DVD Animé Works doesn't do a great job with extras but that doesn't really matter a whole much. When deciding whether or not to watch it dubbed or subbed, choose subbed. While I'm not that choosey Kenshin is the only animé I refuse to watch dub for the actors weren't choosen wisely. Kenshin just has one tone of voice as opposed to his two-tone Japanese voice(Hey, no one can compete with Mayo Suzukaze, a very talented voice actress). Not to mention his "that it is" or "that you must" phrases that aren't put in there as much... =sigh= Kaoru's voice isn't the chipper Japanese one, and Sano just doesn't roll his r's. And what's a Sano who doesn't roll r's? But then I started watching this series 3 years ago fansubbed so who am I to judge? ^^x Dubbed or subbed, whatever you choose to watch it's definatly the greatest animé series out there. Enjoy! ^^x
