Review: The first time I saw this I thought it was boring,now I think it is exellent with a lot I mean a lot of action Trunks of the Future must fight the evil Androids anlong side with his best friend and trainer Gohan.

Summary: An ok movie
Review: I, personally, love DBZ and have seen many of the episodes. When i heard of this movie, i had to see it. When i finally did, it was a bit of a disappointment for my DBZ standards. I was expecting alot more action and the story to be a little more played out. The fact that it is only approx. 45min, doesn't really let the story develop as much as i had hoped. Even with this judgement i still like the movie quite alot. So for these reasons i give this movie a 3 out of 5 star rating.

Summary: A Great but Sad Story
Review: The movie is really good. It's sad you may actually shed some tears. It helps you understand Trunks especially when you go back and watch the android saga. Also shows how special Goku really is. A must have for any dbz fan.

Summary: This could of tied into the series easily
Review: Of the 45 minute shorts this one could of easily of tied into the series. While the others were more like mini movies, I could of seen this one tied into the series, one way or another.This one begins with us witnessing Goku dying of a mysteriouse virus. From there after a short while two androids appear. These Androids cause all sorts of mayhem, unitl Piccolo, Gohan, Yamcha, Vegeta, Kirllion, Tien and Chowsu appear. At the end of that Battle only Gohan survives. We then are pushed to ten years later. Gohan is now in his early 20's and Trunks is in his teens. The andriods don't want to destroy the world, they just want to have fun. Gohan continually fightsd them to try and stop them but his no match for them. From there Trunks begs him to train him and he does. Eventually Trunks learns on how to become SUper Sayin but in one of the early battles he is almost killed, and Gohan suffers greatly. Towards the end we witness Gohan dying and in the end Trunks leaving to try and change the future. This could of tied in so easily to the series. It's amazing that it didn't. Somewhere after Trunks leaving but before they start training I'd imagine. It's not the best, but it has it's moments. Recommedned to DBZ fans.

Review: ...I just saw this 48 minute long heartbreaking story and I almost cried!You'll know the story I think!? Everybody has died except for Gohan and Trunks and the world is ruled by two evil androids (17 and 18).The planet they live on is a big mess and the two fighters seek for revenge,but it has a bad end for one of them (that's why the story is so saaaaaad)...

Review: This is a very sad movie but also exciting. The only thing that is wrong with it is that they make the beginning part where Goku dies way too short, but still, I did cry. I cried when....well I'm not going to give the whole story away. But if you are a true DBZ fan, your gonna want to see this movie. It's a must-see movie. The History of Trunks: The future that never was....

Summary: An amazing feature, but lacking in extras
Review: I decided to purchase this DVD after reading good reviews elsewhere on the web. For the most part, it is excellent. The story of Trunks trying to become a SSJ and defeat the Androids is a very compelling and emotional tale. If I was rating the feature alone, it would score the full 5 out of 5 stars. Where the DVD falls down a little, in my opinion, is the extras offered. Aside from both the English and Japanese versions being on the disc, there's little else in the form of extras. There are commercials for the Trunks, Androids and Cell Sagas, plus a commercial for the DBZ Store (online shopping). The only real extra that is noteworthy would be the World of Dragonball Z featurette. This 20 minute clip documents the world of Dragonball Z from history of the Saiyan race up to where Mirai (Future) Trunks shows up on the scene. New DBZ fans will find it quite informative, and it has a bunch of clips from episodes throughout the series. As a whole, this DVD is very good and I would recommend it to any DBZ fan, Trunks fans especially. If you don't like the English dubbing, the Japanese dub will satisfy you. If you like the English dubbed DBZ though, the VHS might be a cheaper alternative. Side note: When buying, I was under the impression that the DVD was Region 1 only (US & Canada). Upon examining the case, the DVD I was shipped is actually compatible in Regions 1, 2 and 4 (US & Canada, West Europe, Japan, South Africa, Australia and Spanish America).

Summary: very cool well worth it for the true DBZ fan
Review: my best friend got this DVD for christmas and brought it down for me to see. my only real complaint was that it was shorter than it should have been but other than that it was great. The main thing that caught my attention was the soundtrack... which borrowed 2 songs from Dream Theater to lend mood to the movie overall a nice filler for those of us who dunno Trunks' background (but if you watcht he show and still don't SHAME on you :P )

Summary: The future that never was, and the future that never will be
Review: Chances are, if you're reading this review, you're a DBZ fan. And chances are, if you're a DBZ fan, you know of Trunks, the purple-haired pretty boy, and offspring of Vegita and Bulma. Trunks comes into the main DBZ story right at the end of the Frieza saga: he's from the future, an ugly future that is overrun by the two all-powerful androids, 17 and 18. They've killed off all the Z fighters (sans Goku, who fell victim to a mysterious heart virus before the androids came about) and the world lives in fear. This is the history of the future Trunks, and even though those who've seen DBZ already know what will happen, it's still a fairly good 48-minute DVD. The story is, admittingly, lacking (not only is this feature short, but it's, well, DBZ) and the fighting scenes aren't on the same level as some of the epic brawls in the main story, but the animation is solid, and FUNImation -- gasp! -- actually handled the video transfer well: everything looks extremely smooth; no grain, no jumpy screens, no rainbow. The dub is, as you'd guess, completely botched: dumbed down script, voice actors don't even fit their characters, and heinous music playing throughout nearly every scene (Slaughter, anyone?) -- simply put, the Japanese version has been mangled. There's also a lack of extras, but this is FUNImation, after all, so I guess it's my fault for actually expecting something good out of them. Still, The History of Trunks is a neat feature for DBZ fans -- Trunks fans especially -- with its surprisingly touching scenes, excellent video quality, good fighting sequences, and interesting take on a "What if?" world, but it won't win any new fans over.
