Summary: Excellence in Anime
Review: (I don't own the DVD, but the VHS versions of the same episodes) DVD Volume 3 contains Eva episodes 9, 10 and 11. All three are exceptional episodes, focusing on the (slowly) developing teamwork between the three pilots. "Both of you, dance like you want to win!" contains an incredible musical sequence that will take your breath away, "Magma Diver" gives all the fanboys out there a chance to see Rei and Asuka in their swimsuits, And "The Day Tokyo-3 Stood Still" has some of the best writing/editing I've ever seen, real or anime, and the action sequence is just great. I highly recommend the entire Evangelion series, and for Pete's sake, watch them in order. You'll be happy you did.

Summary: Some of the best episodes.
Review: A lot of people complain how there are only 3 Episodes on this discs, but I don't really mind taking into the fact that you only get TWO EPISODES with the VHS. So you are actually getting a better buy. These are some of the most entertaining episodes of the series and has some very interesting dialogue and chemistry in between characters. Especially with Shinji and Asuka, who the episodes are mainly about. Content aside, the picture quality was pretty good considering the show is about 6 years old now. The sound, however, was exceptional! I very surprised by how much translation ADV put into the English Soundtrack. And Stereo effects are put to good use. Overall, I was very pleased with this disc.

Summary: keep 'em comin' ADV!
Review: ADV does it again! Evangelion volume 3 is top-notch. Although you only get 3 episodes, as opposed to the previous 4, it's still worth it, because these are some of the best. Each one features an great angel battle, and has plenty of character moments - including the obnoxious (or adorable, whichever you think) Asuka. The picture and sound are largely unchanged, but there are now no overlays on the Japanese writing to the dismay / relief of viewers, keeping it closer to the original version. Extras are a bit on the thin side, but they're better than most anime DVDs. Its really worth getting this and the others, because Evangelion as a whole series is excellent, and you really need to know whats going on for when the film comes out because it concludes the whole series (and is brilliant, may i add).

Summary: Probably the best DVD to pick up for casual viewing
Review: Considering that Evangelion is a very story-driven anime, there are as a result not many episodes that you can pick up and watch to kill a couple hours. This DVD, along with, in my opinion, episodes 7 and 8 on disc 2, are the ones that are the least dependent on each other and, as a result, are the ones that can be the most fun to watch in isolation. These are the episodes of the pure combat and fun, before the storyline starts to get to the heavy part. Tech level is okay, but it still has those annoying promos before you can get to the menu.

Review: Evangelion is an intense psychological anime, and it has easily become a favorite. However, unlike the first two DVDs, this one only has three episodes... the DVD quality is excellent...

Summary: A warning against the English dub.
Review: First of all, I have to give this DVD two thumbs up, as it brought me back into the anime circle of things. It's an excellent set featuring three (yes, just three -- sad, I know) excellent episodes of an excellent series. You won't regret buying this item. However, I STRONGLY recommend you view it in Japanese with English subtitles. The voice acting is EXCELLENT (yes, that's my adjective of the day ^_~), and the dub pales considerably in contrast. If you understand Spanish, I encourage you to view the episodes in it -- AFTER you watch them in Japanese. In particular, I'm complaining because of the changes in the characters' voice tones. That alone can kill the essence of the story. It's not that the voice actors did a bad job -- on the contrary, I rather like the dub cast. It's just that sometimes the lines are read... wrong, to put it simply. And if that doesn't help at all, this will: Asuka's "Back roll entry!" and "Hello! Guten mortgen!" sound MUCH cuter in Japanese. ^_~

Review: Having never seen the series before (except discs 1-2, eps 1-8), I must say that this is the poorest of the series. Despite having new DVD menu intervals and improved chapter selection, the series suffers from the momentary silliness that is common with a few of the episodes in NGE. Despite this, you have to watch this disc in order to progress with the story, and I'm told that the last episodes of the series are excellent.

Summary: GREAT anime!
Review: Hey, lookin' for the continuation of the best anime series of all time? Well, I was, and I wasn't disappointed! Collection 03 of Evangelion is much lighter and fun than the rest of the series, and I think that's important for those of us who're kinda weirded out by the deep messages in Evangelion, which had the potential to be a REAL slug-fest. This DVD ALMOST lived up to the slugfest potential, and treats us to a dance-like fight scene where Shinji and Asuka work together!! (Never thought you'd see that, eh?) A little of Asuka's past is explained, but not too much. It's not a meaningful DVD, but the characters really develope their relationships. The jealousy Asuka has for Rei steadily climbs. On the lighter side, Asuka moves in with Shinji, and a bit of humor ensues. Asuka sleepwalks, and the results mess with Shinji's head - mentally and by Asuka's abuse! As for action, there's an Angel battle in all three episodes on this DVD! These're definetley the best battle scenes so far. Eva fans and non-Eva fans alike will all enjoy this DVD!
