Summary: Kyoto Arc = Best Fight Scenes
Review: This starts the Kyoto story arc, which is the arc when Kenshin must become a Rurouni again and leave for Kyoto to stop Shishio Makoto. An old rival from the Revolution, Hajime Saito, leader of Shinsengumi Squad 3 comes to fight Kenshin, hired by the government to test the Battousai's strength. They start to fight and Saito forgets he isnt supposed to be trying to kill the battousai, then the Police Commissioner appears and stops them from killing each other. The leader of the Meiji government then gets into recruiting Kenshin to fight etc. and Kenshin ends up leaving, saying goodbye only to Kaoru. Unlike past DVDs this one isnt as funny, its much more serious, there is 1 or 2 parts that are humorous (like when Megumi slaps a collar onto Kenshin) but overall its lacking the humor in previous Rurouni Kenshin DVDs. Id also recomend buying it with Ice Blue Eyes

Summary: The Start of an excellent Chapter....
Review: This volume is the first of the kyoto Arc series. I have found this to be one of the best volumes to have in the collection. I couldn'twait to see Kenshin v. Saito in this volume. It is also wise to collect all the volumes for this arc because you'll definitely miss alot. Its great from start to finish. I know cause I got every volume so far!! so buy this one,you'll never regret it!!

Summary: Aku...Soku...Zan!
Review: This volume is the start of the Kyoto arc, and here the anime follows the manga more closely than it did in the beginning. There are less filler episodes from here on in, which is always a plus. These four episodes introduce Saitou, who is the last surviving Shinsengumi. He appears to work for a corrupt politician, but later it is revealed that he is serving his own form of 'seigi' (justice). In the fight between him and Kenshin, we see the true strength of the Wolf of Mibu and the legendary Hitokiri of the revolution.

Review: This volume of Ruroni Kenshin TV series starts with the introduction of a character from Himura Kenshin's past! His name is Saito Hajime, and he is out to finish a job he started years ago as a member of the "Shinsen Gumi". When this character arrives on the scene Kenshin's mood swings into a very violent stage, and the story of Ruroni Kenshin as you know it changes completely. US fans have been waiting years for its domestic release. This DvD is guaranteed to supply you with the most incredible fight scene ever witnessed in anime.

Summary: The best sword fight I've ever seen in anime
Review: This was one of my favorite of the Kenshin DVDs completely due to the fight scene between Kenshin and Saito. It's probably best viewed with one of those slow-frame-advance DVD players so you can watch it in slow motion. The animators did an unusually excellent job of making the action smooth and slow enough so that you can follow both combatants but still fast enough that they seem to move lightning-quick. And there's none of that pesky "flash" that animators often use to blot out actions that might be too tricky to animate properly. As for the rest of the DVD and the series in general, it's my favorite anime series and the story arc introduced in this DVD (the Kyoto arc) is one of the better introductions that I've seen for a season-opener. The Kyoto Arc has a more depressing (aware is the japanese word) tone than the previous arc or the Meiji arc so be aware that it's not nearly as happy-go-lucky as the first and third seasons. Definitely worth the money, especially if you prefer to watch your anime in japanese.

Summary: The return of the Densetsuno Histokiri Battosai
Review: When I first saw this, I was surprised. I know that Kenshin had been a manslayer but this was the first time outside of Samurai X, that I had seen him so scary. This gives viewers an idea of what Kenshin used to be like during the Meiji Revolution. It was really new to see that. I will admit, the fighting scenes were awesome, the humor directly after the fight, needed, and the sadness right after it was to be expected. This will be a very good addition to Rurouni Kenshin collectors

Summary: Good stuff.
Review: Yes, sir, these are some good episodes. As mentioned in just about every other review for this DVD, this the beginning of the great Kyoto arc. The episodes in this arc reveal more of Kenshin's past, such as the origin of his reverse-blade sword and his Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu technique. The fights get really intense, too, as opposed to the 'talk to the villain, waste him, then talk to him some more' fights of the previous episodes. Long story short, buy this DVD!
