Summary: THE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR
Review: I have seen this filn two times and I'am waiting to buy it in VHS. Is one of my favorite movies I ever seen with Star Wars. The effects, the fights, the characters, all, it's perfect. The story is exellent. The only thing I can tell you: BUY IT!

Summary: It did it for me...
Review: Some people had problems with this movie. Plot was bad, it was too derivative, etc. I for one had already had the idea of "what if the world weren't even real?" , as we probably all have. I say this movie put that thought into a well-entertaining movie. The whole feel of the movie drips with a sort of high-tech "cool;" a different feeling than any movie I've ever seen. It puts the whole story in a modern day context, and it's really quite believable. I had to think about it for awhile after I saw it. It almost gives you a new appreciation for life! :) Plus, the special effects are great. Were they "adapted" from other movies? Maybe... but so was all sorts of stuff in Star Wars... and many other movies I can't think of right now... So, if you haven't seen it, do now. If you already have, and liked it, get the DVD! This movie singlehandedly will make me get a DVD player...

Summary: Lousy plot? Bad acting? maybe. but this movie STILL ROCKS!
Review: Turn off your brain, grab a big bowl of popcorn and prepare to get blown away, baby! Pay no mind to the pseudo-intellectuals that try to pump up their own lacking self esteem by ripping something that was successful. If I wanted to use my brain, I will read a novel. If I want to unwind and relax, I will watch an action movie that doesn't require me to rack my brain over the meaning of life (42). Who cares if the whole plot is based on human duracell(tm) batteries? It is a fun movie to watch - a lot of fun. I for one am chomping at the bit to watch this DVD on my widescreen TV and surround system.

Summary: The movie matrix was a spiritual mind body and soul traveler
Review: Matrix is an awakening in the spirit relm of life knowing thatwhenever we uses anyone of our five senses it only inform us of afragment of the reality while whenever we go beyond our five senses we are right in line with our source and reason for living for it`s from our source that our five senses arrive and without having knowledge of the source it`s like having an bank account and can`t withdraw from it so it becomes useless or improperly used ( you have the power and don`t know what to do with it )Matrix however shows the capacity beyond what the eyes ears nose taste and feel can demonstrate and it all boils down to what you believe and if you`re a person that believes that good can and will always conquor evil

Summary: One of the best movies ever
Review: I am the type of person that when I see a movie in the theaterI see it once and only once. However, The Matrix impressed me so much, that I have seen it 4 times in the theater, and one time on a hotel pay-per-view. It is not just a movie packed with fancy special effects, but it has an excellent story, amazing action scenes and a phenominal collection of actors. I promised myself after the fifth viewing, it would be the first DVD that I would purchase. And it will be.

Summary: Would Have Liked To Give It 1 1/2 Stars
Review: I'll cut to the chase, the special effects were new and ground breaking, but that's all. The script, typical 90's drivel, overly long and drawn out, devoid of depth or characterization. Most was a simple ripoff of Total Recall and just about any John Woo film ever made. Lacking any real urgency or basic narrative principals, this movie (like most from this over hyped, conglomerized excuse for a decade) is held loosely together by its flashy style and extended use of a blue screen (Or is it green now?). So if your in the mood for a sfx driven, mindless piece of 90's trash, check this movie out!

Summary: Absolutely stunning
Review: Although many found the concepts hackneyed, the acting stilted and the action sequences borrowed, I say, let them think that, they're letting analysis and higher thinking get in the way of what is one of the most enjoyable movie watching experiences I can call to mind. The plot, although it has its holes, is engaging and complex, and even semi-spiritually based. The action sequences are, IMHO, thrilling and exquisite. The effects are unmatched. And the acting, again IMHO, is GREAT. I am NOT a Keanu fan, far from it, but I enjoyed his performance thoroughly, and Fishburne was great as well. The bottom line is, if you're going to watch this with the intent of tearing apart, you'll have plenty of handholds. But, if you watch this ready to suspend disbelief and have a EXCEPTIONALLY good time, then that is most certainly what you'll experience. This is in my top 5 favorites now, and I consider myself fairly discriminating, although definitely a "common man" in my tastes (Raising Arizona, Vertigo, The Princess Bride, The Crow and Pulp Fiction are other favorites of mine, as a point of reference.)

Add to that the fact that the DVD will have commentaries, behind-the-scenes clips, documentaries, still galleries, and a DVD-ROM internet event in November, and what you have here is one INCREDIBLE deal for a mere $15. Best money you could spend, this is a SHOWCASE DVD title.

Summary: Sit back, relax, enjoy
Review: When was it decided that a movie could not be good because it was simply an entertaining thrill ride. I have seen far too many great movies blasted because people have assigned cinema some grand higher purpose. Movies are meant to be escapes, not just moving soico-political statements. It may have been done better and cleaner elsewhere, but I haven't seen it if it has, and how many truly original movies are there anyway.

This movie is the most entertaining and visually intense movie I have seen in ages. Not since ALIENS have I been so enthralled by what is transpiring in front of me. It had an intriguing story idea and incredible imagery. Could the acting or writing have been better? Probably. What movie can ever answer a definitive no to that question? The lobby gunfight alone makes this movie worth well more than the price of admission. I will definitely be among the first in line to pop this into the DVD and allow myself to be blown away again.

Summary: One of the worst movies I have ever seen
Review: Where to begin? This movie was so hyped and so adored by the MTV advertising executives that it actally did well at the box office. Throughout the movie (I would not give this the honor of bestowing it with title "film") there are numerous references to ALice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz. If only it were 1/100th as good as either of these tales. The production design was pretty interesting but does not make up for the lack of storyline and the absoultely abhorrent acting abilities of our dear friend Keanu. Avoid this one at all costs!
