Rating: Summary: One of the best ending sequences ever Review: Number One: Superb acting. Spacey and Palminterri (Sorry, I butchered his name.) play off each other brilliantly. All five "suspects" give great performances, and these are criminals, people, of course they're going to be highly profane. Number Two: Awesome script. Well-deserved Oscar. Number Three: Yes, anyone who hasn't seen this movie and is reading these reviews knows this movie has a kick-a** (Is Amazon that picky?) ending. It twists your reality upside down, and even on the second viewing, the movie keeps your interest, as you try to unravel the plot even more. Favorite scenes: The soundless shot of the coffee cup falling to the floor and breaking, and (a scene which can only be appreciated on the second viewing) when Chazz walks in and asks Spacey "a question" and Spacey bangs his fist on the table and yells, "Ah, f**k!" Trust me. It'll make sense after you see it.
Rating: Summary: Expect the unexpected, but believe; the best suspense ever!! Review: This is a film that will take you into a web of deception, lies but still seems sooo true. You will not and I repeat will not see a better suspense. Unlike most movies where you can say quite easily who dunnit, this is a no, no is suspects (as my friends and I affectionly call it). I recently recommend it to a friend who always boast that she can tell what and how the plot will unfold within the half of any movie. I told her all about this movie (the whole if it) she watched it and all she could say was " You've got to see this movie, even when is was finised I still did not belive, you've got to see it." I had to remind her that it was me who suggested that she watches the movie in the first place. "... the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled is convincing the world that he did'nt exsist .... and like this ..... he's gone"
Rating: Summary: The Best film ever Review: THis is the best thriller, and probably the best of any genre, ever made, it is tense and keeping you on the edge of your seat without being to violent and its element of black humor stopps the plot from getting boring, a work of art right down to its final twist
Rating: Summary: Boring, Predictable Review: I can't believe that anyone with a second-grade education couldn't see right through this piece of trash. It is the most painfully obvious movie gimmick in history. The acting is absolutely uninspired, especially by the absolutely inept Kevin Spacey, who joins Keanu Reeves and Brad Pitt as the Three Stooges of Bad Nineties Actors.Basically, a movie for those morons whose idea of thought provoking entertainment is the X-Files.
Rating: Summary: Suspenseful and thrilling... Review: This movie is by far the best suspense thriller I've ever seen. A movie that requires thoughts and second thoughts. I watched it twice to catch all the details of dialogs and their implications. A Must See!
Rating: Summary: The best movie ever made. Review: Fools enjoy formulaic stories which hollywood likes to produce in bulk. Every few decades a movie of worth appeares. This movie's worth is unquestionable. For those who remember the lost art of the plot twist, this is you movie. Thanks to one of the best movie scripts in history, this movie is the best. To sing "The Ususal Suspects" praises is to sing Kevin Spacey's praises. He is the best actor in film today, and this movie exeplaphies his true talent. This is one of his best. In sumation, those who haven't seen "The Usual Suspects" haven't really lived.
Rating: Summary: Six Stars if I could. Review: One of the bset films ever made, if not the best. It twists and turns like a twisty-turny thng. Stagering performances all round, atmospheric music, brilliant script, mind scrambling plot, great locations etc etc ad nauseum. But I must agree with another of the reviewers, NO SEQUEL EVER! This film stands alone.
Rating: Summary: the best movie of the decade!!! Review: I read all the reviews, and whoever gave this movie less than four stars discraces the film critic industry.spacey and the rest of the cast are excellent!!!the most intense movie of the '90's!! dtc#1
Rating: Summary: Without a doubt, suspense at its best!! Review: I knew the ending for this amazing mystery almost four years before I saw it. I spent the closing sequence on the very edge of my seat. I thought it would be ruined knowing the truth, but it made it just as good! Watching it over and over again revealed so much, you feel like you're apart of the movie. Spacey is a true genius with his role as Verbal. Yet his greatness spawned off of Chirstoper McQuarrie's great script and Bryan Singer's breathtaking style of direction. This is my favorite film for so many great reasons.
Rating: Summary: Instant Classic Review: Best movie made this decade, hands down. All the performances were great (especially Spacey and Palmentieri) and the plot was very engaging. People who say they figured out the ending ahead of time are kidding themselves.
