Summary: One of my favorites...
Review: In 1998,before Steven Soderbergh directed his gritty Oscar-winning hits Erin Brockovich and Traffic, and before his cool blockbuster crime caper Ocean's 11, he directed this slick and passionate[accomplishes that with no sexuality I might add] romantic thriller "Out of Sight" which will remain one of the best movies of 1998.A Federal Marshall Karen Sisco[Jennifer Lopez] is briefly kidnapped by a charismatic bank robber Jack Foley[George Clooney]who hides her in the trunk of his car[with him in it as well] and then dumps her off after the robbing job is done. But it ends up they have fallen for each other... The Oscar-nominated adapted script by Scott Frank is just top-notch. It does help a bit that it was adapted from a Elmore Leonard novel but, hey, it still works. The romance between Jack and Karen is just priceless. It is like Romeo and Juliet in a sense. Where two lovers love each other but are torn between love and their background differences. The two most unforgettable scenes: the trunk and the bar scenes. Although the script does get a little slow at times, it is still a great script. Steven Soderbergh adds his insightful eye to this flick which IMO made up about 20% of its greatness. In this film, as well as Erin Brockovich, Traffic, and Ocean's 11[all films which I enjoyed] he uses his special techinques and visions to make up his films. The entire feel of his directing gives you a reason to watch one of his movies alone. I disagree with one poster saying he is overrated. Just beacuse someone has a great amount of talent and everyone praises their work someone always has to say they're overrated. Now to the acting. I think this is Clooney's best and most charming performance yet. Yes he is the bank robber and would probabaly be considered the heavy but the scriptwriter and Clooney's performance makes Jack Foley a guy you can't help but love to hate. Jennifer Lopez also turns in a great performance as the strong and beautiful Karen Sisco. This performance and her performance in Selena proves that she's more than just a singer and sex symbol. She's incredble, sexy, and very believeable. Ving Rhames, Steve Zhan[funny performance], Don Cheadle, Dennis Farina and Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson in some very smart cameos all give equally good performances. To sum it all up, "Out of Sight" is a entertaining and beautiful film . If you like romance, crime or Elmore Leonard based novels this film is highly recommended. Rating: 9/10

Review: This is one of my favorite movies ever. If you like Soderbergh's "Ocean's 11," you'll find this movie to be 20 times better. Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney give awesome performances. It is possibly the slickest movie ever. The DVD rocks too. Great special features...

Summary: Great caper comedy
Review: Soderberg's OUT OF SIGHT is a highly enjoyable movie. A smart, fast script is hilarious, and Clooney excels in his role. David Holmes does the music in this one (also in OCEAN'S 11), making for great accompaniment. Jennifer Lopez acts well as the controlled, yet-in-turmoil fed. Ving Rhames again makes the quintessential sidekick, with a hysterical guilt complex. The storyline is fast-paced and humorous, with absurd characters and situations making for a really funny film. The whole thing is ridiculous and the romance is goofy, but that's what makes it fun.

Summary: A great combination of film noir and romance
Review: When Out of Sight came out, many people never gave it a second thought. By the trailers and promotions, it looked like a lame romantic comedy with Clooney and Lopez. But the film isn't that at all. Out of Sight is best described as film noir light. Produced by the same team which made Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty, it takes the noir story and sprinkles in romance. But not too much. The story's focus is on Clooney's run from the law and Lopez's chase after him. Though she can't seem to decide if she wants to catch him or love him. Directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Traffic, and Erin Brockovich); this film carries his unique visual style and story telling techniques. Contrasting the warm sun of Florida and the cold winter in Detroit, the two locations of this film, Soderbergh creates a world just a bit off kilter from our own. For any fan of films about crime, film noir, and even love, this film has what it takes to please.

Review: A great story/screenplay, with one of Clooney's best performances and Jennifer Lopez's ONLY good performance, because George and Steven made her look good. Good DVD with some decent extras, but with very good video quality.

Summary: Not the Worst Film, But . . .
Review: When bank robber Clooney is forced to kidnap federal marshall Lopez, you'd think that something would happen. It doesn't. Nothing much - other than the predictable - does happen in this film. Clooney plays the criminal with a heart of gold as if it were his ER character while Lopez is supposed to be playing a hardened federal agent but doesn't do much except appear beatiful in $900 suits. Not much to make a film on but they did. This isn't the worst film ever made, but it is a long, long way from being the best.

Review: If you like Soderburg, this is a classic. This movie is histerical and it is by far Clooney's best work to date next to O'Brother. I would recommend this film to anyone who likes movies like Boogie Nights, Three Kings, Traffic, Magnolia etc...

Summary: So bad it's hilarious!
Review: I actually had a great time watching this movie because it's so bad, I laughed out loud throughout. All the positive reviews must be from people who are impressed with movies that have great looking people in them but don't mind that the plot is the most ridiculous piece of drivel ever written. Here's the whole movie: J Lo catches crook Clooney, sleeps with him, wakes up and he's gone, repeat...repeat....repeat.... Seriously! That is the WHOLE MOVIE! Every time she wakes up she's like "Oh darn it. He's gone again. Guess I'll have to start over". Critics were paid to give this movie good reviews; there's just no other explanation. As far as all the customers who gave it good reviews, I can only envy them for the great prescription medications they must be taking.

Summary: My Favorite Movie
Review: This is an incredibly cool movie. Steven Soderburgh is at his best in this adaptation of the book by Elmore Leonard. George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Ving Rhames, and even Albert Brooks all deliver fantastic performances. There is also an outstanding soundtrack by David Holmes. As one of E! Television's top 25 date movies, I definetly reccomend checking this movie out, and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
