Review: Okay film. [...]Anyway, back to the movie...I was harsh on George Clooney when he had an ill performance in Batman and Robin. Since He made Out of Sight, Perfect Storm, From Dawn to Dusk, and Ocean's Eleven, George Clooney did what Will Smith could never do, the transformation of a tv star into a movie star. I hope he will choose more roles to help him to reach his potential, since I believe he will hit it big with the right roles. Other than that, Jennifer Lopez, as usual, is resplendent but wears off quickly since she only has the beauty of a face and body. If the audience was more than be fascinated about the chemistry between the two couple, the movie is basically flat. A gap here and there comes up. For example, [...] involve Michael Keaton in the movie since his role had absolutely nothing to do with the story, somewhat yeah contributes to the story but basically in a pointless way. Almost an all star cast here. Soderbergh's reason why he won the best picture for Traffic is because his style improved every film he did. From Sex, Lies, and Videotapes to Out of Sight to The Limey to Traffic, you can see how he experimented the style, what works and what doesn't work. This is an absolutely remarkable observation, granting the fact that he is a perfectionist. I absolutely love Soderberg's style in the film, but it seemed very young of maturity. [...]That is why I have this film a 6 because it looked great with a flat story. Samuel Jackson's cameo elevated the movie. Without that, there is no good ending for this one.

Summary: One of the top ten movies of all time...
Review: One of the top ten movies of all time, Out Of Sight starts out with George Clooney coming out a his job interview that went bad which you don't find out actually until the middle of the film because of flash backs. Anyway on we go Jack Foley (George Clooney) then walks across the street and with no plan, no gun, no nothing but his quick mouth and mind robs a bank or at least almost does until he gets to his car and it won't start. So once busted by the cops only seems right that he is thrown in jail but not not for long because Foley again is a quick talker and thinker and finds two people who are breaking out and sets up his own plan to get out which is seperate from there's. This plan of his now is actually quite genius. So he tells a security guard that he knows who's busting out and to meet him in the chapel before lock down which is when he busts out and meets Jennifer Lopez who deliveres the best performance of her whole acting career and should of been nominated for a golden globe or something. Now J.Lo is known as Karen Sisco a Federal Marshal in this film and is known to like the cowboy cop type who cheats on his wife as her dad (Dennis Leary) likes to say who is also a cop. Now this is just where all the fun begins, Jack is breaking out and he fools all of the security guards but not Karen who is there checking out a case concerning one of the prisoners. So not being fooled doesn't make a difference for Jack already thought of this before because he has a car waiting for him with Ving Rhames playing his best friend Buddy and throws her in the back of trunk with Jack who starts trying to pull pick up line after pick up line on her while in the trunk with her which doesn't work out at first but slowly and surely after a while Karen breaks down and starts laughing with him. Although still planning on busting him by the time she gets out of the trunk that doesn't work out.
Well that's a summary of the beginning and it would be way to complex to explain being almost exactly like Pulp Fiction in the way the story weaves in and out. So I am just going to say that I love this film and it also had great performances by Don Cheadle (Swordfish), Steve Zahn (National Security) and Albert Brooks (The In Laws) later in the movie. Also may I add 'Out of Sight' was critically acclaimed by every critics everywhere from New York to L.A. and I'm not even kidding.

Summary: Smooth, sexy, and oh-so cool
Review: People look at me funny when I say that this is one of my all-time favorite films... I think it's the Jennifer Lopez factor. But once I force them to watch the film, they usually change their tune. Soderbergh takes a winning story by Elmore Leonard and turns it into something better by tweaking the timeline, using music and cinematography brilliantly to establish mood, and relying on an outstanding cast to do the rest. In addition to the chemistry between the two leads, Out of Sight has a supporting cast that is simply perfect, not a weak link to be found. It's hard to choose a favorite among Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, and Steve Zahn, but even the smaller parts are played to perfection by the likes of Dennis Farina, Luis Guzman, and Catherine Keener. Without such a solid cast, a lesser film would have seemed too stylized, but instead it's an exercise in Cool. This film is a pleasure to watch from start to finish, and you'll find yourself going back for repeated viewings (catching subtle bits of humor each time -- like Steve Zahn and the weights).

Summary: Why I have a soft spot in my heart for Jennifer Lopez.
Review: Though this made no money when it was first released, director Steven Soderbergh's caper film "Out of Sight" has developed a strong cult following. This well-written, well-acted, beautifully shot ensemble comedy-drama is superior entertainment, and it "launched" Soderbergh's comeback to the world of serious film by proving that Hollywood films can still be smart and artistic. Taken from an Elmore Leonard novel, the script gives George Clooney his best part to date. As Jack Foley, a moderately successful thief who uses words more than guns, he's given moments where he's supposed to be tough and tender. He's smart but impulsive, and he frequently finds himself in the middle of a jam. During a prison escape, for instance, he ends up sharing a car trunk with a federal marshal named Karen Sisco, played in a sophisticated, ballsy turn by Jennifer Lopez. From that scene of flirtatious, intense dialogue because they like each other and hate each other, stuck at an impasse where neither one of them can make a move, Sisco and Foley banter and battle throughout the entire movie. When their confrontations come (in the seduction scene and, later, in the final heist), the payoffs to the audience are rewarding. The supporting cast is uniformly colorful, and all the characters are well-defined. I particularly liked Don Cheadle's work as a scary, insecure prison boxer and Steve Zahn's turn as a hapless criminal obsessed with wearing sunglasses. But the scenes between Clooney and Lopez set the screen on fire, moreso because of the way they deliver their dialogue than because of the way they look. The editing of the seduction scene, where their dinner dialogue seems to narrate what happens to them after dinner, is what makes it so sexy. Great movie. Lopez has never done anything yet that's as good.

Summary: Excellent film if you can get past...
Review: the fact that a kidnapped woman thrown into the trunk of a car with a recently-escaped ex-con who is completely unknown to her could never, ever, under any circumstances find the situation a turn-on, even if the ex-con looks like George Clooney. If you can suspend that disbelief, it's an awesome movie.

Summary: Out of Sight - A Fun Watch
Review: Here's a fun, entertaining crime/comedy that's sure to have you jumping and laughing. George Clooney, a pro-bank robber named Jack Foley, gets caught when his old car breaks down in the parking-lot of a bank. Jack gets sent to jail, and from that sparks a wild adventure of avoiding the cops and other criminals. This flick is highly enjoyable...has some drawn-out romance with Clooney and Jennifer Lopez - whether or not that's a good thing or a bad thing, you can decide on your own. If you liked Get Shorty, Pulp Fiction, or Jackie Brown, I bet you'll like this one, too. Based on the Elmore Leonard novel.
OUT OF SIGHT is rated R for violence, a scene of gore, language, and some sexualtiy.

Summary: A MASTERPIECE!
Review: The movie Out of Sight was a fantastic movie. It was great how the director took his camera and moved it from scene to scene. This movie is so creative because George Clooney, Albert Brooks,and Ving Rhymes are in yellow suit when they are in jail. It isn't the regular orange suits you see on TV.
Also, the movie was darkly sexy. I was a dream that you would have. It is understandable why George Clooney wants Jennifer Lopez and why Jennifer Lopez wants George Clooney. They work together so well. With all this and a great storyline you can't agrue with this.
This is a great movie you HAVE to see! It deseves 5 stars!

Summary: J Lo CAN act!
Review: Too bad she doesn't choose roles/movies like this anymore. The chemistry between Clooney and Lopez is outstanding. This movie was made before either of them became huge movie stars and remains one of my all-time favorities. I love the way the movie goes backwards and forwards in time. Out of Sight features a witty script and other interesting characters--check it out!

Summary: Brilliant translation of book to screen
Review: I keep having to tell myself that a movie doesn't have to remain faithful to a book and still be a good movie. I discipline myself to not hold it against the film when they fail on this point. On rare occasions, like "Forrest Gump", the product does sometimes exceed the source material. But a movie will always get extra points from me when it captures as much as possible as the original book. This one does it, and does it magnificently. With the cast, director, and story source, I can't believe this one did not do better at the box office, but it's a keeper now that it's available for home purchase. Having read the novel, I was pleasantly surprised over and over again with how the actors translated their characters for the screen. Leading the way, of course, is Clooney. Yes, he's got the looks, but he also shows the character's flaws, the most important being that he's not the world's smartest criminal. When he finds what his life skills get him as a job in the legitimate world, you almost root for him to go back to his life of crime. A lot of actresses could have handled the lead female role, but Lopez does a decent job. When she has to show tough, she does it, and does show her looks better here than some of her other movies. Upon seeing Ving Rhames as Clooney's associate, I kept saying "Good choice" throughout the film. Don Cheadle's ruthlessness is almost frightening. And Albert Brookes and Dennis Farina fill in nicely when needed. This one should be celebrated for doing it right.

Summary: The worst movie I ever saw
Review: As titled above, this movie was awful. The relationship between Clooney and Lopez was phoney and totally unbelievable. I could have cared less if either one was blown off the screen. The premise is stupid. I can't believe it received good reviews.
