Summary: One of those intriguing movies that surprise you...
Review: You would never think TV hunk George Clooney and now pop-star Jennifer Lopez could bring to life such a flic as Out of Sight... this movie surprised me. I was expecting Fair Game and instead got this incredible movie that dealt more with character than action... I was very impressed with the screenplay's attention to character detail, not movie direction. I bought the DVD after watching it on video; I couldn't possibly go without this deeper type of story... definitly one for those who relish in the relationships and not plot.

Review: This is one of the best films from last year. I believe people who watch it and do not like it are either brainless morons or just did not pay any attention to it. This movie needs to be viewed at least twice if a person does not like it the first time out. This film is well acted, directed, written and photographed. I brought me a copy of this video not because I liked the movie, but because I love to look at beautiful Jennifer Lopez. However, after I watched the film I finally realized how imaginative and terrific this film is. All of the acters are great, including the cameos. As for the person who threw away her copy all I have to say is that you just wasted a great movie to look at.

Summary: A very poorly done movie that's not worth buying.
Review: I was very disappointed in the lack of direction in this movie. At times, it seemed to try and be a comedy, then a drama, then an action film. But in the end it was none of these! I was so disgusted with the fact that I had spent the money for this disk, and couldn't return it because I had opened it, that I threw my copy in the garbage can rather than have it take up space in my DVD collection! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money either

Review: No other movie, save Get Shorty, has as well captured the essence of grit and steam, heat and vibe that is an Elmore Leonard novel. Long live Out of Sight.

Review: I'm sorry but I thought this was the most over-rated film of 1998. Every single review I read harked on about how great it was so I convinced about five of my friends to watch it at the cinema with me. I sat there in silence as I realised I had taken them to watch a turkey and that people were walking out in disgust. When it finally finished I was lucky not to be beaten up in the car park by my former friends. In a word, terrible.

Summary: Even surpasses its title!
Review: The best movie of 1998 and almost completely overlooked by the Oscars. In light of the Oscar winners of recent years, however, I'm somewhat grateful "Out of Sight" wasn't included. I've never been a Clooney or Lopez fan, and I wasn't at all interested in "Out of Sight" when I saw the trailer, but I've never been more wrong on a first impression. Clooney is incredibly charming and suave; Lopez is unbelievably sexy and tough; and the ensemble ties it all together, with standout performances by Don Cheadle, Ving Rhames, Isiah Washington and Albert Brooks. What stands out the most to me is the movie's distinct style, which is equally present in every aspect of the film: from the slick and original editing (which at one point synchronizes freeze frames with the pulses of the soundtrack), to the clever non-linear structure of the narrative, woven together with incredible skill by Soderburgh. I cringe when people compare it to films such as "Pulp Fiction" and "Jackie Brown," for it far surpasses these films in writing, acting and most importantly, directing. Soderburgh shows far more style and originality than the self indulgent Tarantino ever will. And more importanly, the movie actually moves, unlike the 3 hour plus "Jackie Brown." Review: after seeing from dusk til dawn i discovered that mr.clooney was actually an ok actor.i wasn't a real big fan of ER and i hated BATMAN & ROBIN so i wasn't sure what to think about him.jeniffer lopez is hot!!!!!!i saw her new video on mtv, and its awesome!!!this movie kinda lost me in the middle, but after i watched it again i got it!!!

Summary: My favorite movie of 1998!!!
Review: I think this is definitely one of the best movies of '98. I could watch it over and over. I think the chemistry between Clooney and Lopez was the most believable I've seen in a long time. And it was so funny. This was a very well acted and well written movie. I am definitely going to buy it when the price goes down and I know it will be added to the list of movies I can watch over and over. A must see!! Plus the sound track is killer.
