Summary: Not bad for a movie sequel
Review: Most sequels to great movies aren't very good, but "Robocop 2" is an exception. Robocop (Peter Weller) returns to rid the city of criminals. In this sequel, he's ultimately after the drug lord of the city, Cain (Tom Noonan). But the road to finding Cain won't come easy, especially not after Robocop gets torn to pieces by some of Cain's people. However, Robocop does finally meet Cain face to face, except that Cain isn't human anymore, he's a cyborg just like Robocop himself, and an evil one at that.I don't see how anybody could give "Robocop 2" a bad rating because it's a great sequel. It has a little bit of dark humor such as a commercial where a woman puts on blue suntan lotion that has a caution reading: "Using this too much can cause cancer." And best of all it has spectacular action sequences, especially after Robocop and Cain finally meet and start fighting each other. The special effects are great, and Robocop 2 (Cain as a robot) is especially well done with all his weapons and the computer that acts as Cain's brain. If you like great action movies or if you liked the first "Robocop," I recommend getting "Robocop 2" without thinking twice.

Summary: Not an Great Sequel but Entertaing One.
Review: Three years later, Robocop (Peter Weller) has become an Hero in the City of Detroit but the Violence in the City has Increase. When an new dangerous drug called Nuke is making people getting addicted to it, in a fast way. Robocop is set to stop, the Creator of the Drug-Kane (Tom Noonan) but When OCP need an new Cyborg, a Tougher and Strong Cyber in thier Division to make the latest Robocop but They actually want a Mind of a Criminal instend of a Police Officer. Directed by Irvin Kershner (The Eyes of Laura Mars, The Empire Strikes Back) made a Sloppy but an fine Sci-Fi Actioner with Excellent Stop-Motion Effects, supervised by Two-Time Oscar Winner:Phil Tippett. This Sequel is Messy and Missing the Dark-Tongue in Cheek Sense of Humor from the Original. At times, the film is a Often Funny in the most Silliest way (Not in a Dark Way as We Think). Screenplay by Frank Miller and Walton Green is quite impressive at times but flawed. Still, this Sequel was a Box Office Hit in the Summer of 1990 but Die-Hard Fans of the Series will enjoy this Second Part of the Series. Grade:B+.

Summary: A bit iffy
Review: I wasn't sure about this film. Nothing changes with it. There are loose ends that just aren't tied up, and it just didn't work for me. It was good to see Peter Weller and Nancy Allen reunited, and the latter has a slightly better hairstyle! At the beginning of the film, Alex's wife comes into it, and comes to see him, now as Robocop. And then she's forgotton about. It would have been good, if Robocop had been allowed to try and rebuild the relationship with his wife, but instead, he turns round, and tells her that her husband is 'dead'. And also, the little brat reminds him of his son. If you thought Alex got a beating in the previous movie, then Robocop really gets a beating in this one. So much so, he's all over the place! I'm still not sure about this film. Sometimes, the second in trilogies (take Scream for example) are pretty rubbish, but I've been told that the third is even worse, so I think I'll like the first one, and wait for the rest to grow on me.

The cops won't do anything because they are still on strike, but RoboCop and his partner Lewis (Nancy Allen) are still in business. RoboCop captures Cain eventually, but OCP, who created RoboCop, creates RoboCop 2 and puts Cain's brain in the machine. Now RoboCop must fight Cain one last time in the building OCP gave to Detroit as "a gift." This was a good movie, not as bad as some people give it credit for. Peter Weller did a fantastic job as RoboCop. Tom Noonan and Gabriel Damon did just as good. This is one of the best sequels of all time. So remember to buy this and the original and avoid #3 at all costs.

Summary: What Went Wrong?
Review: RoboCop 2 is a serious dissapointment. Director Irvin Kershner who directed an excellent sequel (The Empire Stikes Back), does his best here but is just saddled with a script that is pretty much a disaster. Writer Frank Miller had the right idea but went about it in the wrong way. The story about a drug lord who is later created as a bigger and more dangerous robot that feeds on it's own drug supply has a great Frankenstein quality to it. The biggest problem with the film ..The mind numbing violence and a sadistic and scheming 12 year old boy is ugly and in poor taste. The biting sense of humor is scattershot but there a couple of real zingers. Tom Noonan as the drug lord is all but wasted, he could have been an interesting and scary character, but just walks around looking stoned out. Belinda Bauer as the scheming and zealous OCP scientist, fares a bit better. Willard Pugh as the mayor of Detroit is a painful to listen stereotype. Gabriel Damon is the infamous 12 year old criminal. Really poor taste there. Peter Weller is back as the heroic Cyborg, showing a funny side as well, after he's been reprogrammed to be more "human friendly" The music of Basil Poledoris is sorely missing here. The Special Effects are the saving grace of the film. The design of the RobCop 2 machine is a frightening entity, and Phil Tippett creates an epic battle between the two RoboCops. RoboCop 2 could have been a pretty good film. The story idea itself was good but too many ugly and unneccessary ideas were added to the story. Reserved viewing at best.

Summary: Fun movie...until it starts taking itself seriously
Review: The first hour of this film was actually kind of fun, but in the middle of the second act the dark humor and self-satire soon gets replaced by violence. And lots of violence. And that means loads o' killing. So if you like bodies getting flung around all over the place, this might be your kind of movie. I think even Joe Bob Briggs would lose count on how mean "dead bodies" this movie has. I don't know if it's action so much as a string of massacres put before the viewer. And hey...what does every one see in Peter Weller? Saying he's a great actor and all - how can you tell? Most of the time his face is covered save the mouth, and his role calls for no expression in his voice. (...) And were we supposed to feel bad the bratty kid got killed? You know...the kid who tried to strangle the female lead with wire, killed a few policemen, and then tried to start a drug ring. I don't care if he's 12, you live by the sword you die by sword. Don't play that sad music and have Robocop be all sympathetic! Blech. Puuuuuh-leez. You know we need more movies where kids die...especially the annoying ones. I'll give this movie that.

Review: Not nearly as good as the first one but it has its moments. Peter Weller remains strong in the lead role. The action and Phil Tippet's stop motion effects are what is worth seeing here.

Review: ROBOCOP [PETER WELLER] AND HIS PARTNER [NANCY ALLEN] RETURN TO BATTLE CORPORATE CORRUPTION AND A POWERFUL GANG OF DRUG DEALERS [LEAD BY TOM NOONAN]. ALMOST AS VIOLENT AS THE FIRST MOVIE. BUT IT'S NOWHERE NEAR AS ENTERTAINING. PETER WELLER IS STILL COOL AS ROBOCOP. GOOD SPECIAL EFFECTS AND GOOD ACTION SEQUENCES MAKE THIS AN ACCEPTABLE SEQUEL.
