Summary: Finally! The uncut and uncensored version of ROTJ!
Review: In 2000, reviews said that the original DVD and video releases for Return of the Joker were different saying the video was edited and the DVD was not. I rented the video and bought the DVD. I did not notice a difference. Turned out, that was afluke. Now 2 years later, Warner Bros. Animation has finally decided to release the uncut version of the movie, in a grittier PG-13 version. I absolutely loved the original PG version, and thought it was pretty violent for a Batman cartoon. I really wonder what new stuff they could add to this disc. Maybe more features, an anamorphic widescreen presentation, a way-better remastered 5.1 soundtrack, perhaps. Of course, we will not know until April. I am going to purchase this new version. I really hope it will not be another fluke.

Review: This uncut version is 10 times better than the previously released version. There are more graphic and more disturbing scenes, just the way Batman should be!! If you can, try to see this version as your first time watching, it makes the previous version look like it was made for kids! A definite buy for anyone who likes animation or Batman.

Summary: UNCUT and Completely Awesome
Review: I recently studied this film, and saw the difference between the edited version of the film and the unedited. How cool would it of been if they would have left it unedited.. well, actually they did. Originally, they actually produced the movie as is to Paul Dini's screenplay. But after it was reviewed by the company, it was edited, the film went straight back into production, and thus came the movie you saw. Now, I got ahold of one of these from the WB itself. When I watched it, it took my breath away. Buy this DVD, it was made to touch every fan the way it should have originally touched you. I promise.

Summary: "Return of the Joker" The way it was meant to be!
Review: Confused? Didn't they release this movie awhile ago on DVD? Yes, WB did, but it was a dumbed-down, kiddy version of ROTJ. This DVD contains the first version complete with all the distubring, violent scenes that were edited out. This DVD also has the film's first commentary featuring Bruce Timm. I won't give away any story details, but this DVD is a must for any Batman fan. Even if you don't like Batman Beyond (shame on you!), buy this movie anyway. You won't regret it.

Summary: Another Great Batman Movie
Review: I've always been a big fan of the Batman series. From it's original conception back in '92. I've seen every episode, through many name changes and several re-vamps. Batman beyond is a great show once you come to terms with the fact that Bruce Wayne is indeed mortal and cannot be Batman forever. This movie does wonderful justice to both the original series and the Beyond series. The script is great and whether or not you agree with the censoring, this an intense movie. If you've followed the series on any level or haven't even seen Beyond before, you can grasp this movie and enjoy it.

Summary: Good, but wait for the Un-Cut version
Review: This is by all means, a good movie. Done in the animation style like the TV show, but slightly better. However, because we're in America, (not, say Japan) this is a slightly more "tame" version than was originally intended. I have seen the un-cut version, and it far outranks this one. However, the core of the movie remains the same, but in the un-cut version, the story is more powerful. Mark Hamill is, as usual, completely awsome as the Joker. When the original series aired on Fox, the producers cast him perfectly, and he just keeps getting better. Any Batman episode with the Joker is worth it. This movie is no exception. The climatic battle between the Re-vamped Joker and Batman is spectacular, and my favorite part of the movie. The Joker is bar far, the best that any animated series could hope for. All in all, a good movie, but wait for the un-cut to come out. (It's on it's way.) Things will make a lot more sense.

Summary: Hello, Gotham, Joker's back in town!
Review: Joker has made various movie appearances, once in Mask of the Phantasm, again in The Batman/Superman Movie, and then in the live-action Batman film. Anyway, Joker comes back and uses a small computer chip and plants on the back of Tim Drake's (Robin) neck. Remember, this is the future where all of the original Batman heroes are old farts, and Bruce Wayne has employed Terry McGinnis to be the new Batman. This movie begins with a scene of Joker's cronies trying to steal a big piece of high-tech machinery to build a giant, destroyer satelite. They take the memory chip to the Joker but he crushes it and shoots one of the gang members with that gas that makes them laugh until they die. After that there's all sorts of chaos until we finally see the Joker for the first time, and we also see Bruce Wayne stare wide-eyed at his presumed dead worst enemy who has resurfaced for more. Near the end of the movie, we find out that the Joker has been using a computer chip (as I mentioned earlier) to live inside Tim Drake's body. At first, he could not live in the body for very long, but he's getting stronger and will soon be able to live in Tim permanantly. I loved it when McGinnis, as Batman, was flying in the future Batmobile when the Joker beams down the laser and it goes after McGinnis like a hot tornado. I'm not giving away any details, and I'm not going to ruin this movie for you. The plot, in simple terms, is Joker has come back and he's stealing high-tech equipment to power a force so strong it could wipe Gotham off the face of the Earth in an instant, and McGinnis, along with the help of Bruce Wayne, must stop the Joker. This movie is great, and you should buy it right away.

Summary: The horror for Batman
Review: I bought this DVD, and it's absolutely fantastic. Basically this movie answers all the questions that everybody wanted to be answered.
I won't spoil the movie, let's just say that the final laugh was the joker's, that is until Batman of the future met the joker 40 years after the final conflict between Batman (Bruce Wayne) and the Joker.
And the way they bring back the joker....creepy...If you get in the story and you analize the impact of the Joker's actions...boy I would hate to be Batman....the Horror...the Horror....
All an all a great movie with great extras, like trailers, featurette (Great), the missing scenes in animatics (No, it's not the extended Flashback scene, which i think it's reserved for the uncensored version, which doesn't even have a release date), Bios, etc.
Buy this movie if you're a fan, It's great, and it would go great in the video library with "Batman:Mask of the Phantom", and "Batman Beyond The movie"

Summary: Joker's Back!
Review: It's the future, and Bruce Wayne has passed on the role of Dark Knight to a new generation. Terry McGinnis is a reformed trouble maker who brings a youthful vigor to the superhero business (not unlike the earlier series' Dick Grayson/Robin) in an all new, and very enhanced Bat suit. So far so good, he seems to be handling his role well, until an old arch enemy returns to Gotham. The legendary Joker, believed to be dead all these years, has returned, looking younger than he should, and acting as crazy as ever! Terry must discover how the Joker has returned, and how to stop his plan to destroy Gotham, while at the same time proving that he is worthy to take over as the new Dark Knight.
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill(Go Luke!) are back, along with Will Friedle as the new Batman. They all play their roles to a tee, as usual. Also, catch Melissa Joan Hart the Dee Dees, a tempting pair of Harley Quinn-esque teen villains. And I have to mention Rachael Leigh Cook, another dream girl of mine, who has a small role as Chelsea Cunningham, one of Terry's high school friends. This film is excellent for its genre, with some truly dramatic, bordering on frightening moments, along with the usual laughs you get from the Joker's crime sprees. There are a couple of disappointing things, but not enough to tarnish the five star rating. For one, it was terrible to see Barbara Gordon as a crotchety old goat, and her voice doesn't seem right, even if she IS old now. But luckily there are some nice flashbacks to the gorgeous young Batgirl we Bat fans all dream about. A slew of cuties in this one actually, from Terry's girlfriend Dana, to the way cute Dee Dees, to Harley Quinn flashbacks. The idea of how it turned out that the Joker was able to come back, frankly, is a bit silly, and doesn't make much sense, which is the main complaint, but the movie is so good we're just glad he found a way, albeit crazy. Now, I've read reviews stating that this is an edited version. Well, I don't know about that, and find myself wondering where everyone saw the longer version, but all I can say is it's a great DVD in my opinion, with some nice extras and well worth owning and viewing over and over!
