Summary: If it's dreamlike, then it was a bad dream
Review: Like a National Geographic documentary about this part of the world with scenes of bad acting edited in, all incoherently edited and incompetently filmed. Some of the Italian seems dubbed at times, and the "sex" scenes are so unsexy, devoid of any molecule of desire--like a stag film with bad production values. Don't get me started on the scene in the tent with the golden bow and "arrow"! I paid $8.50 to see this at a theater and walked out 2/3 of the way through. The only bright light is the arresting young actress who plays the doomed Aziza.

Summary: Arabian Nights: a poem written in light onthe cinema screen
Review: My favourite film of all time, no contest. Pier Paolo Pasolini, in my opinion, achieved his pinnacle with this narrative of a poor boy's search for his eternal lover. Brilliant and moving.

Summary: ARABIAN NIGHTS -
Review: My first experience with Pasolini was his "Salo" movie and it was a mixed experience I am still contemplating. However, "Arabian Nights" was my second outing with this director and I found this film to be an enchanting, atmospheric work of art. This is what the real tales of the Arabian Nights must have resembled. No Hollywood glitz, no gilding of any lillies, only alluring scenery filled with lurid tales of love, lust, revenge and fulfillment. Really try to see this masterpiece! Next for me will be the "Decameron" and then, "Canterbury Tales". Thank you.

Summary: Tedious.
Review: Pasolini directed it, and that should be sufficient warning for any one who has even the faintest idea of his work. Bad cinematography marrs the scenery, mediocre actors drone on in a confused and muddled saga, and one ends the film wondering why any one would want to waste a few precious hours of life watching this film.

Summary: Beautiful,hypnotic,sensuous
Review: Pasolni's third installment in his"Trilogy of Life" is a beautiful, hypnotic, sensuous art film!A true masterpiece of exotic eros.Filmed in Morroco,it tells severaltales from Sheherazade's "One Thousand and One Nights". Also, check out "TheDecameron" and "The Canterbury Tales".Recommended for adults only, and forlovers of bold, provocative cinema.

Summary: Not as good as Canterbury Tales or the Decameron!
Review: Whilst Canterbury Tales and the Decameron are excellent movies that are highly entertaining and witty, Arabian Nights does not meet the same set standards. I personally found it to be harder to follow and the acting is not as good as in the prior movies.
