Summary: My Ratings on "Never 2 Big (Butter)"
Review: I loved this movie. Nia Long is one of my favorite actresses and Shemar Moore is one of my favorite actors. The movie had a good plot and it didn't have a lot of violence in it. We need to have more black movies like "Butter".

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I was very disappointed in this movie
Review: I think I have to be one of Shemar Moore's biggest fan. I even had the pleasure of meeting of him on 3 different occassions. But this movie was the worst I ever saw! I can't believe Nia Long, Salli Richardson and Ernie Hudson ever considered doing it. There was sooooooo many unanswered questions. The acting was poor, the script was lousy and the plot was terrible and totally unbelievable!! I was told this movie was supposed to hit the big screen but I guess it just wasn't good enough to make it there, and if you saw this movie, you would know why. And I tell you what, had I of seen this movie in the theater and paid $6.75 for it, I would of demanded my money back!! I guess every good actor has it's flop of a movie, and this was definitely Shemar Moore's. The only thing about this movie that I liked, is that I was able to watch Shemar for 2 hours straight instead of the 10 mins he gets on the Young & the Restless.

Summary: This is one cool movie!
Review: I watched this movie not knowing what to expect. It is sooo cool, the plot continues to thicken & the acting is fabulous, particularly that of Donnie Wahlberg. If you want a movie where you have no idea of twists & turns catch this!

Summary: This album in the BOMB!
Review: My favorite song on the soundtrack is BROKEN DOWN by Vinent Brantley. It's a beautiful ballad. 2nd favorite is Christopher Williams' SUPERHERO. Why aren't these songs on the radio???

Summary: Actors strong effort can't save film from its bad script.
Review: Never 2 Big or "Butter" as it is also known had a lot going for it. A strong cast great production values and an interesting premise. It had the potential to be a great movie about the dark side of the music business. The entire cast gives strong performances, Especially Ernie Hudson as the evil record mogul. I only wish Salli Richardson and Nia Long had gotten more screen time- both were excellent in their brief roles. Shemar Moore is quite good in his first feature film role about a record exec who gets mixed up in the shady dealings and is forced to go on the run after his sister is murdered and he's next to be targeted by the record mogul's hitmen well played by Tony Todd and Tiny "Zeus" Lister. With all these elements in place you'd expect this "Butter" to be sweet. Unfortunately this movie quickly turns to a big piece of government cheese. The film looks great; the cast and producers do their best, but they can't over come "Butter's" Margarine, Always 2 shallow, poorly written script which devolves into really bad a shoot em' up urban action movie. The story has entire chunks missing from it and these major details that the producers thought were minor would have helped flesh out the story better. Unfortunately, those portions of the film were left on the cutting room floor and the audience is supposed to assume certain things happened off screen while the hero moves on to the next scene. Big Mistake. Also, For a film about the music business, there wasn't very much music in this film. Strange. The story is a character driven one and with portions of it missing the whole film suffers. The character relationships to one another are not well defined-I wasn't really given a chance to get to know any of the characters or their motivations. In order for a character driven story to work, there must be character development so the audience can be shown what is going to happen and why it's going to happen. Without the explanation of the details, I was confused for most of the film. The way the film is edited it seems people do things get shot and die; the hero wins and the credits roll. I would have like to known why things were happening. Like the music business it's based on this movie looks flashy on the surface, but has nothing really interesting going on underneath it. I wanted to like this movie, but it doesn't feel complete. At the end of the movie Shemar Moore's character says "Butter, Baby" But the movie feels like Parkay.

Summary: I had my doubts, but I loved it!
Review: Shemar Moore (of soap opera fame)played a believable victim, somebody you would like to help. The cast was well placed and deserves a big clap on the back for some great performances. In the beginning, it doesn't look like it's going to be that good... but it turns out to be an entertaining, and fun film. I really enjoyed it! I would recommend this movie for anybody who likes action!

Summary: Whack!
Review: Shemar Moore is georgeous and Nia Long is a gifted actress but this movie didn't do anything for me. It was wasted talent for both actor and actress.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: To hot to handle
Review: Shemar was excellent in this movie,he really showed the viewers that he's not just another pretty face. Although I wish that him and Nia long got more romantically involved in the film. (He also looked especially good when he got out of the shower). God bless America.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The movie is one like no other, it's really a thriller!
Review: The movie was a great action film but it could have been a little more suspensful. Personally the onlly reason why I originally picked the movie out is because I love Shemar Moore.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Horrible
Review: This movie was horrible, the acting was horrible from Shemar Moore, the actors must of been desperate for money.
