Review: The way the Baz weaved the Shakesperean meaning and words into a modern setting gives the viewers a wonderful, once in alifetime experience. The actual play is now easier to understand if I were to read it and the story made me cry.

Review: This movie gets a wonderful 5 starts from me! Leonardo is the best in this movie and with Claire be his side there is no stopping them. THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAV MOVIE!!!!!! You have to see this if you love will Shakespeare!!! The modern day guns are from the brand "swords," some of the stores are ones that you can find in other Shakespeare plays. This is takes place in out time. With drugs, and guns at Romeo's feet. He see's his star cross lover and he falls deep deep in love. Summary: A True Beauty to Watch...
Review: From the first time i saw it and last night my 8th time i still love this movie. The language is beautiful to listen to and the cast makes it sound like chochlate on the tip of your tounge. The movie is so well done it is like you are watching a typical movie but just in a a different language. Dicaprio and Danes are great actors and in no way destroyed it. Mercutio and Tybilt were another splendour to watch. I cry every time i see it and i know i always will. If you have not seen this yet cause you are worried about the language don't worry it is so beautiful that you understand it with in minutes...

Summary: I take back anything bad I said about it!!!!!!
Review: I wrote the reveiw on November 20th, the one with the summary "Great movie if your fluent in Shakepeare-ish". I now take back anything I said about this movie that isn't wonderful. I saw it a second time, and I found it much easier to understand the second time, so I like it a lot better now. The only people I don't reccemmend this movie to is if you're under eleven years old, or if you don't have the time to see it twice. Don't bother watching it if you don't have time to see it twice. And yes, Leo was the reason I originaly saw, it, but after that, I relized that anyone and everyone (Who fits the crititeria above) should see this movie, Leo fan or not.

Summary: Just Awesome!
Review: I wasn't sure that the poetic language of Shakespeare could so easily be tranplanted in modern times. Luckily, Baz proved me wrong. This movie had so many stunning images. It was made to hold your attention and it did that job well. Danes and DiCaprio are wonderful together. Baz was true to the story but added just enough to make us believe that it had happened recently and not 300 years ago. If only he would add his touch to all of Shakespeare's work, then maybe more people would enjoy it.

Summary: Great movie if you're fluent in Shakespeare-ish.
Review: This is generally a very good movie, but somtimes it sounds a little funny when it's not supposed to, like when they say "Put down thy sword!" and the camera is looking into the barrel of a high-powered automatic rifle. Leonardo DiCaprio was better here then in Titanic, but I like both these movies a lot. Claire Danes is beautiful, I wish it was easy to be as pretty a Juliet as her. She is also much easier to understand than the other actors and actresses. My only complaint with this movie is it's very hard to just sit down and watch, you havge to be very focused on it to understand the actors, and also to be able to follow the plotline. The actors are great, and Leo is cute.

Summary: Baz is a genius!
Review: I love this movie, and it's not because of Leonardo DiCaprio or Claire Danes (even though they are both excellent actors). I'm not in love with either one of them. I am, however, in love with Shakespeare's poetry. I have seen many directors try to create an effective modernized version of one or another of Shakespeare's plays, but I don't think any of them measure up to Romeo + Juliet. The energy and anxiety of this screen adaptation fit perfectly with the story of rash and unadvised love. The music is full of emotion and tension. Even the Elizabethan language seems to make sense in the surreal setting of Verona Beach. I'm a die-hard Shakespeare purist, but you just have to love this movie! END
