Summary: Who needs continuity when you have amazing special effects?
Review: Python: Where the only thing worse than the "acting" is the script, and the only thing worse than the script is the special "effects". The only original thing this movie produced was Casper Van Dien's unique accent, which has no foundation in any language. This blatant Anaconda ripoff is laugh out loud funny, but is meant to be suspenseful, if suspensful is synonamous with overwrought and cloyed. Firstly, we see a flight crew of TWO killed, mostly by own stupidity. Second victims are lesbians, having sex, wearing plaid, one of which has a pet, you guessed it, python! These victims are killed with acid which their clothes can withstand. Character development is imaginary, as equal time is spent on characters killed 4 minutes after introduction as with those who carry out the "plot". (Snake bad, must kill) The setting, Ruby, hick town extrodinaire, is apparantly suffering from inbreeding, as its residents flock to their deaths. Many important questions arise: How does a 123 ft long snake travel into town in broad daylight without being seen? Why is there no general warning emitted? Why is it that their are no simple townfolk on the streets, they are devoid of all but the main characters? How far can a severed head fly? Where does blood come from?(Man bit by snake, bleeds but no visible wounds?) Many inquiring minds will discover these and thousands of other questions left unanswered. Characters are textbook, contradictory, and altered dramatically at random with stupid and irrelevant details supplied. No one gives a damn how many guys the lesbian dated before her death, (everyone in the town). As the snake has the remarkable ability to change its size at will, and to disarm bombs (don't ask), it proves a difficult chase. Not helped by a power-mad deputy with no actual purpose other than blatant comic relief, which, as expected, fails horribly. Another source of this "comedy" is the dimwitted plant engineers, who appear to have been inhaling fumes for years....

Summary: ONE OF THE WORST
Review: THERE are no words to describe how corny and horrible this film is. its a complete waste of 2 hrs of ur life. u will want to turn it off after first 15 min , if u even last that long. what a disgrace of a movie this is- i cant beleive robert englund did this film. what a low budget piece of trash this is- WARNING- the python is very fake looking and not one bit scary. the whole story consists of the python escaping and killing random people. i know it sounds good but its the worst acting and corniest movie in history. wait till u see the snake. this makes lake placid ( which wasnt a good film) look like a masterpiece. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE.

Summary: this is both dumb and hilarious
Review: there are some funny ass killings in this and its stupid, my god its way crappy. Casper Van Dien has a frickin horrible southern accent and Robert Englund has always been crazy. but to call this a comedy, yes, but to call this suspense or intensely scary, no. and they made a sequel, horahh

Summary: silence of the critics
Review: There is a certain amount of attention to detail that one must strip down from when watching this sort of film genre. I think many critics have had to bite down on their tongue to stop themselves from overly critiquing such films as Anaconda and Python and why they still do it today. Sci-fi stretches the imagination out from it's original norm, thus somtimes creating entirely new worlds for us to climb inside and hopefully (as the director has tried to do) forget just what we left behind.( the real world). Now, I could go into just how horrible Anaconda was but it would serve no purpose whatsoever. It's all about one's own imagination and one's ability to put themselves into the world that the film has given us. Sure, Python was badly acted and at times a little stupid but not worth critiquing because it's so far stretched from the truth that it's no longer within our grasp.

In fact, I did enjoy the film although it only made me question the possibility that such a creature could ever exist but I think we, as critiques, have to remember just who and what we are dealing with. If it was King Kong attacking this small town, do you think we'd stop and try to rationalize such a story? no, not at all. Yet we still find ourselves right back where we started. We must overly look at details and won't just let ourselves enjoy the fictional story for awhile. Even if it's bad, that's our opinion and not everyone else's. Let's not forget that the real reason we even watch movies in the genre of Sci-fi is to escape reality for a short while. To perhaps forget about the real world and step into a more exhilarating story where large reptiles can exist and dumn blonds still seem to steal the show.

Just put away your witty sarcasm, strip yourself of critisms, and watch the Python for what it's worth. Hate it or like it, you'll come back for more later! we always do.

Summary: BLOWS ANACONDA out of the water
Review: THIS is a spoof on Python. TOTALLY FUNNY. The producers and director must have had one heck of a blast makiung this film. Nothing was taken seriously. I laughed my head off and the ending was totally hilarious. Loved the lesbian love scene too. COuld have been a little more explicit, that would have made it a lot more interesting!!!

Dont be quick to judge like the others that ripped this film. It was a great snake flick.

Summary: Sssssssssssss-ucks!
Review: This movie definitely earns it's title-I can't think of another movie off the top of my head that deserves the title "Python" more than this movie. I don't know if they got the same snake from Anaconda, but they might have-he is totally in your face and outrageous-a reptile for the new millenium! You've gotta see him knock these humans into submission! I love the scene where the Python calls them and when they trace the call it's coming from downstairs in their own house!

This film was hard for my sister to watch because she was attacked by a snake as a child, but the film was pretty even-handed and let you see things from the snake's point of view, so I think maybe she came to terms with her fear through understanding. Some of my friends (including Billy) complained that the film's hard-earned realism was hurt by all the cameos, but I thought the scene where Regis Philbin and Cher blasted the Python to kingdom come was awsome! People call this kind of movie a guilty pleasure, but it makes you think about reptiles, and therefore is more informative and important than movies like Mystic River (which, by the way, isn't even a true story).

Summary: bad bad bad
Review: this movie is (junk) beyond explanation. anaconda is jaws compared to this. 129 foot python should be fighting and spitting acid at godzilla instead of helpless (....) the creators and writers did not think this through. i watched it twice for a laugh and sat through it picking out mistakes and just stupid (stuff) that shouldnt be in the movie. like every scene there is new dramatic music to match every terrible line. and also there is pathetic attemps at comedy. stay away- do urselves a favor
