Summary: Hits The Credibility Limit
Review: I'm no mountain climber, but I have done some hiking in the high Sierras. It's amazing how thin the air is above ten thousand feet, much less twenty thousand. Above ten thousand I get slightly nauseous and can't quite get my breath just walking. The people in this film are supposedly doing all kinds of things involving heavy exertion without any extra oxygen at altitudes well in excess of twenty thousand. It's a bit of a reach. Then there's the nitroglycerin that mysteriously oozes from it's metal canisters at the touch of sunlight. Regardless of high altitude and low temperatures. What kind of cardboard are these metal canisters made of?

As you may have gathered by now, "Verticle Limit" has some definite weaknesses. In general, the story is very predictable, but it is helped by lots of beautiful, though cold, scenery and some taut (whether believable or not) action sequences. The actors are giving it their all, but the lack of any real headliners doesn't help, either. Put this all together and you have a very mediocre flick. I wasn't terribly anxious to see it, and, now that I have, there is little that would draw me back to repeat the experience. This is another case of a film that you should see before you buy. A few people will no doubt want it enough to buy it. Witness the four- and five-star reviews here. Most folks, however, will want to pass this by in favor of something with more to offer.

Summary: I was all set to like this movie.....
Review: I love climbing movies, I climb a fair amount myself, I love action movies. How could I not like this movie, right?

This movie makes Cliffhanger look like a masterpiece. Yeah, cliffhanger, the one where Slyvester Stallone carries a rope through most of the movie and never, ever uses it. The special effects are relatively good, but the plot is the most nonsensical I have seen. I hate to give away the plot (though I use the word plot very loosely here), but I would think even a ... kindergartener would think twice before they backpacked nitroglycerin up a mountain that is avalanche prone. If you want a halfway decent climbing movie go see the old movie "K2", or the Eiger Sanction. Or heck, even Cliffhanger with all its flaws. The IMAX Everest films are spectacular also, though perhaps a bit too realistic for some.

Summary: Very stupid movie!
Review: I have to save my stupid sister because she was stupid enough to go up a mountain when she was warned not to. This is what Chris O'Donnell's character should have said in the movie, it would have been more entertaining! I kept waiting and waiting for something to happen in this movie and finally some stuff did. The helicopter scene and an avalanche scene are the reason for the two stars. If you like absolutely mindless action, there is not that much you would probably like this movie, this is a movie for you. The acting is horrible and the story is even worse. I saw this movie for $... and it was worth $...! After the movie was over I asked my two buddies what they thought and one said," It was the worst." and the other said, "It was all right". I really can't see too many people writing too many good things about this one. I could go into the story and the characters, but if you read the first line of my review then you know everything you need to know.

Summary: If you like action, suspense, and fine acting.....
Review: ....then this is for you. I almost did not buy this DVD because of the reviews... That would have been a mistake.. The action was outstanding, the actors selected for each role were perfect. The direction/editing was also excellant... The thing most reviewers, before me, missed was the suspense. You just never knew what was going to happen next. I thought Scott Glenn was (as usual)brilliant.. Chris O'Donnell seemed to come of age in this movie. Bill Paxton always amazes me with his versatility.

The supporting cast was also perfect.. I guess I was really pleased and suprised how really fresh and exhilarating this movie is.. I recommend it to all who like good entertainment, acting, and of course action...

Summary: Waste of time
Review: I have read several books about Everest including Into Thin Air. This movie gives you none of the sense of what mountain climbing is about. I had looked forward to the movie with great anticipation and was very disappointed. The special effects were an insult. It was like watching a cartoon. I expected to see Roger Rabbit pop up at any time. This movie tops Air Force One for bad fx.

Summary: Take it to the LIMIT!!!
Review: Vertical Limit is the story of two siblings (Chris O'Donnell- Batman and Robin), (Robin Tunney- End of Days) who have a tradgic past three years ago involving their father's death. Now, Peter's (O'Donnell) sister (Tunney) is leading an expedition climb up K2. But after a sudden death roaring storm at 26,000 feet high, three climbers are trapped and have no way out. Now Peter joins five other climbers to go and make one of the most daring rescue missions ever! Hold your breath as you climb higher and higher to the the VERTICAL LIMIT!

Summary: Just Terrible.......
Review: This is absolutely the worst movie that I've seen in the past couple of years....It is just a terrible movie. The acting and special effects are below average, and the plot is ridiculous. I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but Vertical Limit is just plain awful....SAVE YOUR MONEY

Summary: Very Intense!
Review: Vertical Limit is one of the coolest movies that I have seen. It was very intense at some parts. There was some bad language in it but otherwise it is a must-see. It is one of my favorites.
