Summary: Excellent DVD Set for excellent action movies!
Review: These three movies are truly a part of American action cinema, these three star "John Rambo" ( Sylvester Stallone) as a former Vietnam Beret who kicks hard Butt everywhere from Oregon to Vietnam to Afghanastain.

The DVD Set is excellent with truly striking sound and picture quality including great extras, so if your into action buy this set.

Summary: what dts/5.1 sound
Review: This a great package overall, much better than what is availible here in Australia but the dts/5.1 mix on the first two movies is non existent everything comes through the center channel you get more out of the channels on your surround system by watching them in two channel mix the third movies fine.

Summary: THE BEST DVD BOXED SET RELEASED TO DATE!!!
Review: This is simply the finest DVD boxed set that I have ever purchased! Each disc is filled with loads of extras such as audio commentaries, trailers, making of specials, amazing picture & sound quality, and everything else you've come to expect from "Special Edition" DVD's. The best part is, each movie is presented in wide screen AND full screen formats! This is a fantastic treat for the vast majority of us without those costly high-definition TV's that can't fully appreciate the widescreen format that so many DVD's are released in. Plus, the bonus fourth disc (which is only available with this boxed set) is filled with hours of behind-the-scenes documentaries featuring recent interviews with Stallone and others involved with the making of these classic 80's films that continue to withstand the test of time. Artisan Entertainment needs to be commended for putting together such a comprehensive collection of goodies that celebrates the ultimate patriot!

Summary: Looking for action movies?
Review: This is some of the best work that Sylvester Stallone has ever done. I am sure that many people have already seen these movies before, but there is nothing like it when you watch it in digital sound. These movies have been digitally remastered, so the experience is nothing like the originals. I gave this trilogy 5 stars since they are so action packed. They do not make movies like these anymore.

Summary: This Anamorphic WideScreen DVD Box Set is Outstanding !!
Review: This review is mainly about the DVD Video & Sound presentation in a Home Theatre environment.

Qualifying Statement: I am a Home Theatre, 55" WideScreen 16:9 HDTV, with a Progressive Scan DVD Player & Dolby Prologic Surround Sound System owner. I have over 400 DVD movies, mostly remastered, WideScreen (preserved in the original Theatrical Aspect Ratio), ANAMORPHIC or ENHANCED for 16:9 Televisions. And this box set is OUTSTANDING VIEWING in this environment.

The Rambo Trilogy is action packed and just pure entertainment. This Box Set is an ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (and ENHANCED FOR HDTV 16:9 Televisions). What this means simply, the Aspect Ratio (TV receiver screen size) of the TV is automatically adjusted to fit the viewing screen size. Having the enhanced Widescreen feature keeps the picture very large, detailed & colors vivid. The picture & sound in the Home Theatre explodes off the screen and the action is tremendous!!!!.

Summary: First Blood has Rambo (Stallone) searching for his Vietnam War buddies and inner peace. This proves impossible & this Green Beret killing machine is unleashed after being harrassed by a small town sheriff. Rambo II: finds Rambo in prison. The U.S. Government needs this killing machine to rescue MIA/POWs left behind in Vietnam. We reluctantly accepts the mission and is double crossed. Rambo III: Rambo is now in Asia working with Buddhist Monks. The U.S. Govenrment now need him to rescue his best friend (Crenna) who was captured by the Russians while helping the Afghans as a military advisor.

There are numerous extra features including a new 20th year Rambo documentary.

This is a great far-fetched patriotic theme war trilogy, but this is Hollywood & Sylvester Stallones signature contribution to the American combat hero. Sit back & enjoy this made for Home Theatre Saga. Enjoy.

Summary: WOW! A RAMBO Special Edition boxed set!
Review: Well, when the Rambo movies were re-released on VHS a few years ago in all new packaging and in widescreen for the first time, I jumped on that set when I found it. But now that I got a DVD player I have been wanting to get these movies on DVD. Now there's been a Collector's set available for some time using the same prints that were released on VHS. They were also, I noticed, only in Dolby 2.0 and from what I have read the picture quality wasn't very good. I was even going to buy that set because it had a great price, but ironically I waited. I then went back to check out the Amazon link and found that it was no longer available directly from Amazon and I was like, "What?" Well now I know. This new Special Edition is going to rock! Hopefully. :)

Remastered in both Dolby 5.1 and DTS, the Rambo movies should sound the best ever. With an additional disc to the 3 movie set that is loaded with mucho extras that it will keep you busy for quite a while featuring many new documentaries that tie in the events of the movies with today's post-9/11 world with a documentary on Afghanistan. This should be the Ultimate Rambo DVD collection. And with rumors that Stallone is working on a new script for a Rambo IV that takes him back to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, it should be interesting and nostalgic to watch these movies again.

And if the Rambo movies come across as patriotic propaganda now, so what? Get over it. Why one would feel shame for having strong feelings for one's country is beyond me. Besides, I'm anxiously awaiting to hear that Rambo theme in 5.1 Surround.

Summary: ACTION MOVIES-80'S STYLE
Review: When i was a boy,i sneakily hired the original First Blood on VHS...i also watched what was the start of the eighties action movie.I love all three of these movies as they symbolise all the entertainment i loved when i was a kid.
Stallone is great as Rambo and what he can't do in the acting department, he makes up for in the action. The original Movie has its moments but its parts two and three that really has the bulk of the action as Stallone personally re-fights Vietnam and then kicks the Russians out of Afghanistan personally.
Being from England,i can understand the feelings towards the character of Rambo by the American people in the eighties as he symbolised the American hero who defended his country with honour. I personally enjoyed watching Stallone wipe out the Russians without any remorse in the first sequel and fighting his own Vietnam battle and winning.
I already own this boxset. I had it imported from the U.S because in England, Rambo III is censored badly (as is Cliffhanger, another favourite stallone movie of mine)
Buy this now...Hollywood doesn't have the guts to make them like this anymore!!
