Summary: "One of the worst movies ever"
Review: Not only did they steal conceptual designs from "Aliens," they also can't write their own material. I don't care what anyone says, if you get money to make a movie, take your time and do it right, and make it original. A movie can be both "good" and "entertaining" at the same time (it doesn't need to lose realism to be entertaining). This movie failed to accomplish either. Why send a mass of humans to fight oversized, violent, armored alien bugs? Any moron race in the universe would be smart enough to use nothing smaller than a naval destroyer (or at least a tank) to fight these things... In the ending, the girl has a hole punched through her torso the size of a basketball and she's grinning like it's another day shopping at the mall with her teen-beat friends... c'mon! I can only give it credit for two things: somebody decided to mount a shotgun on the bottom of the already-copied "Aliens" rifle, and the storyline idea that after you graduate highschool, you have the option of joining some intergalactic military acadamy to fight bugs, which I thought had some potential that was wasted on this pathetic attempt at a movie... Truly deserves 0 stars...

Summary: KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!
Review: THIS MOVIE WAS REALLY KICK ASS!!! THE MUSIC THE ACTORS THE STORY WERE ALL INCREDIBLE BUT THE COMPUTER EFFECTS ARE WHAT KEPT ME COMING BACK. I DID FIND THIS MOVIE INSULTING IN A WAY. THIS MOVIE IMPLIED THAT THE AVERAGE 13-16 YEAR OLD WILL GO SEE ANYTHING WITH NUDITY AND GRAPHIC VIOLENCE. BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE IT IS TRUE!!! SAD BUT TRUE.

Summary: Strong message, great audio/video fx.
Review: This is one of the most intelligent, coherent movies I have ever seen. Although Cro-Magnon viewers may discount the movie because they can only see it for its blockbuster violence, and are upset that the "paper-thin" characters do not have issues like the characters in "Meet Joe Black" or "Circle of Friends," this movie addresses serious issues and makes a strong arguement about politics and government. This special edition DVD has film-maker's running commentary option, which is phenomenal, because Verhoeven is a great, insightful director. The theme of the movie is that war inevitably makes fascists of us all, and how that is bad. Neil Patrick Harris's black SS uniform should be any easy indicator of the war's fascist overtones. Based on WW2 promotional posters, the movie is excellent propaganda material and is derived from Verhoeven's childhood in WW2 Poland. The movie explores several key issues about the future: the role of women in the military, the role of the military in space, and the class structure differentiating the rich, poor, military, and civilian. Although "fascism is bad," Verhoeven (from Heinlein) depicts a future in which everyone is equal within their social class. Despite the seemingly perfect society, hopefully you'll be able to pick up the director's true intentions. Every time I see it, I learn something new. THe best political movie I've ever seen.

Summary: A Very Good Movie, with Very Bad Acting!!
Review: The first time I saw this movie,I hated it. I thought everything in the movie was dumb. Then I saw it once more and like it but didn't think it was great. Then just the other day I saw the movie again and saw the light. Even though the acting is still some of the worst Ive ever seen. The action seens and special effects are some of the best that Ive ever seen. The DVD is great with some cool features.

Summary: Not one of the best movies I've ever seen
Review: Great sound and video quality. Very poor acting, stupid story. I give it 2 stars for the dvd quality only.

Summary: Fascist or patriotic? Regardless, it was PUKEY BAD!
Review: Plot: bad. Dialog: bad. Believability: bad. Acting: tolerable. Redeeming qualities: none. If I could give this movie a zero-star rating, I would. I'm usually a fan of science fiction movies, even the mediocre ones, but I found myself actively mocking the screen after mere minutes. The characters were paper-thin, the message was indecipherable, and the plot was laughable. Infantry with bullets against a torrent of virtually-unkillable aliens? Butt-blowing bug baddies whose comet-like projectiles escape the planet's gravity well and knock out huge battleships? Gimme a break! How many dismemberments do we really need to see, anyway? The cheese-factor was too much for me, and I'm from Wisconsin, the Dairy State! And how come the residents of Buenos Aires were so...so...white? RA Heinlein, the author of the book upon which this trash was (loosely) based, must be spinning in his grave.

Summary: Stars off great, but only ends good!
Review: TO BE HONEST, THIS WASN'T A BAD MOVIE AT ALL. SURE, IT'S STUPID: BUGS FROM SPACE ATTACKING EARTH. YET, THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO FUN! THE FACT THAT THE MILITARY PUTS ALL THIER STRENGTH INTO SOMETHING THIS STUPID! WELL, IT'S NOT BAD, AND IS OFTEN QUITE ENTERTAINING. UNFORTUNATLY, NOT EVERYONE WILL THINK SO, AND NOT EVERYONE WILL GET A KICK OUT OF THIS.

Summary: Paul Verhoeven's crowning achievement!
Review: Robocop and Total Recall were awesome. But Verhovens third film is the best yet. This movie perfectly displays his trademark fusion of over the top violence, wit, and exuberant vigor. It also has the highest body count and the most gruesome death scenes, but if you're a Paul Verhoeven fan, it shouldn't matter. The story is a rich cross between ALIENS, DOOM, and STAR TREK with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in, and is one of the most visually exciting films I've seen.

Summary: Absolutly STUPID!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is by far, the worst science fiction, supposedly kids movie I've ever seen. The acting is stupid, the bugs are stupid, man, the whole movie is stupid. I'm suprised it got 3 and a half stars, or any stars at all. It is filled with pointless F and MF words and gore. Like I said, "STUPID!!"
