Summary: A rip roaring, high octane, special effects extravagangza!
Review: About 4 months before the film's release into theaters, my art teacher's brother, (Kevin J. O'Connor), who plays Beni, came to visit our school and talk about his moderate success in films, dating back to "Peggy Sue Got Married". Enthused by this, I couldn't wait till opening night.

Although the acting was so-so and the plot a bit far-fetched, I very much enjoyed it's mile-a-minute thrills and fun, with was loaded with action every which way you turned. A cross between "Indiana Jones", "Jason and the Arganauts", "Gunga Din", and even a bit of "Alien" and "Lawrence of Arabia", this film is extremely entertaining!!

In 1290 B.C., Imhotep was mummified for an affair with the Pharoah's daughter. 3,000 years later in 1923, a Ciaro librarian, her brother, and an American soldier go to Hamanaptra to uncover the secrets, but unleash the 10 plagues of Egypt.

The special effects were great!!! A regenerating corpse, thousands of scarab beetles, and a chasing sand tornado are just a few of the things that went through computer animation, and turn out looking cool!!! The cinematography was good, and I thought that the fact of adding some humor in kept it from being a serious action film. Also, kudos to Brendan Fraser, for this was his first time staring as an action hero in a film.

For great special effects, fast paced, non-stop action sequences, and loads of fun, "The Mummy" is the movie for you!!!

Summary: Secret Burial Chamber reveals treasure for DVD buyers
Review: First let me start off by saying that the remake of The Mummy does not compare to the the 1932 original starring Boris Karloff. With that being said however, what we have hear is a special effects dominated thrill ride, with reasonable acting, it's also paced such that 125 mins go by in a flash. If you have a home entertainment system of reproducing the 5.1 digital soundtrack than you may want to add this to your collection for demo purposes only if nothing else. Besides that this disc is loaded with special features, audio commentary, documentary, deleted scenes, and yes folks even though its not shown on the disc jacket, isolated musical score by Oscar winning composer Jerry Goldsmith. To access the isolated score go to the languages section on the disc setup, press audio commentary and voila, you have the isolated score, for your perusal. One last thing my dog Mr. Lucky, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,(see the movie Restoration, if you want to see what he looks like) loved this movie and gives it 4 Paws UP!!!!

Summary: I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a comedy or a horror
Review: Visual effects aside, this movie was really quite dumb. My eleven year old twins enjoyed it and that was about the intellectual level the film. It seemed like Brendan Frazier wasn't quite sure if the film should be a comedy or a horror show. It seemed as though he wasn't quite sure how to act, funny or scared. It was quite violent at times and too many people died. I would not rent it again. If it wasn't for the visual effects--I would have rated the film 1 star.

Summary: *COOL*
Review: This movie has it all! The didgetal efects arn't as good as the ones in the Phantome Menace, but at least they tried. This movie has a good lead charecter, (played by Brendan Frasier) A Damsel in distress who isnt in as much disterss as you'd think she'd be, (evelyn) a rather dumb yet funny sidkick (johnothan) a Scared-of-his-own-shadow bad guy (beni), a mysterious guy who isn't really on one side or the other, (that mysterious Eygyptain guy with the tatoos on his face) and, of course, the evil, supernatural bad guy. (imhotep). this movie isn't really that scary, but it is really funny. it's got some parts when you know what the people are gonna say, but it ia still funny. (ie. When o'connel (Brendan Fraiser) says to Beni "I think I'll kill you." Beni says "think of my children!" then O'connel says "you don't have any children!" and Beni says "someday I might..") Basicly, this movie is for the kind of person who doesn't want to have to pause the movie so he/she can take time to figure out the plot so far. If you just want to watch a good, funny, somewhat scary movie, get the Mummy. It'll be worth you're while!

Summary: adventure, funny,action......you got it all in one
Review: What can i tell you....it is funny, i mean the movie, but honestly, i wouldn`t know where to put the whole thing....Did "Indiana Jones" ring a bell to the producer of this movie? However, it seems to me like the producer (or director)couldn`t make up his mind: when is about to became funny, the action kicks in...when the horror part is about to start, it becames funny... Generally, the movie is good, entertaining and the special FX keeps you up. And not only the visual once....if you own a surround sound system, then you know what i am talking about. You may wanna watch it 1st and then decide if you wanna add this movie to your collection.I`ll give it a 3 out of 5

Summary: Great, thrilling and clever
Review: The Mummy never relented in its excitement and thrill, and the plot was incredibly clever. It is the best movie I have seen for a long time. It was always exciting. In one word, 'Awesome!!!'

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Spectaular Fun and Laughs
Review: This isn't a movie for serious people who like movies that win non-technical oscars. Most critics hated this movie they thought it was stupid and wasn't serious enough. I enjoy movies that entertain me, serious movies like Shindler's List help you learn something about life. For this type of movie, who cares. This is the kind of movie the motion picture was supposed to be a century ago when it was first invented; entertain you. This is entertainment at probably it's best level. Special effects were awesome and there was some good homur in it. All in all, entertainment like nothing ever done before.
