Summary: A decent romp, though ethnocentric and moralistic
Review: Forget about accurate Egyptology, superb acting, gorgeous photography ... and plunge into a Saturday-matinee-like adventure with cool special effects, where Brendan Fraser (the goofball of _George of the Jungle_ fame) tries to act tougher (but less funny) than Harrison Ford, who now owns this role. Trouble is, the moral of the story is that you become evil by engaging in illicit love, and that Middle Eastern folks are bumbling, greedy, untrustworthy, smelly folks with bad teeth. You'd think Hollywood would have learned by now. Sigh.

Review: I thought this was an excellent remake of the 1930's "The Mummy". The story was very impressive, and was surpassed only by the Specials effects.Walls of living sand, Millions of stampeeding scarebs, and a regenerating 3000 year old mummy, my eyes drank them all in with astonishment. If you have'nt yet I strongly recomend that you BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Good Entertainment, GREAT Media.
Review: This is not a "heavy" movie. It is not even that scary of a movie. But it is highly entertaining. It's PG-13 rating means that children can generally watch it without having nightmares and the use of foul language is minimized. I rarely give movies of this ilk five stars, but this movie has such high production values for the DVD that it rates as a "must have". It is a great demo disc for showing off Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and DVD picture quality. Don't think too much about this movie, just enjoy it.

Review: This is a great movie, you want to watch it over and over. I love watching the cute guys (Branden Fraser, and the big bad mummy guy). It was cool to see ancient hirogliphics (eek spelled wrong).

Summary: The name implies action/suspense, not comedy!
Review: I feel that The Mummy, just the name itself implies an action thriller. The special effects were good, but that doesn't make a movie good. The storyline was ok, but the persistent comedy was annoying. Not that it wasn't funny, but when I go to see a movie called "The Mummy", you would think its an indiana jones type thriller. Indiana jones had comical moments, but nothing like in the mummy. Overall, the comedy detracted from the quality of the movie as a whole.

Review: When I read those previews I thought that this was one of those good movies, scary, good story and everything. So I watched it, but I haven't seen the end because I was so bored. The first thing I hated was that I thought that this movie was scary, but is was so not !! I think it can better renamed to a comedy or something like that. And those effects were not so great eather. Fake and not very scary. The scenes were not very good to follow. In one scene they were almost caught, the next scene they were already in their hotel. What's that about ?? Well I hope I'm not too negative, but I have a dozen friends who think the same like me. Massol
