Review: 2 of the 7 DVDs are not Dolby Digital 5.1. Live and Let Die and GoldFinger are only English Mono sound. What a rip off especially since the details of this fact are hidden on Amazon's description. The other 5 DVDs are fabulous. Surprisingly, Thunderball (1965) has a great Dolby Digital 5.1 sound track. Why couldn't they redo the best one: Live and Let Die.

Summary: the disk set is fantastic
Review: The disk transfers and the quaility were exelent, but what was most impressive was all the extras. There were things even a serious bond fan did not know, and every movie has alternative audio tracks with filmmaker cometaries. Overall: the best special editions of any movies I have seen.

Summary: James Bond the way it should be.
Review: This is the way to experience the missions of James Bond, 007. If you haven't yet upgraded your Bond Video Library to DVD, you have surely failed your mission from M. This gift set has some of James Bond's most terrifying and explosive missions he has faced in his 37 year career with MI6. I am especially glad to see the extra bonuses added by MGM Studios. One of my favorite features that only DVD offers is the Director Commentaries. I think that it offers a new perspective to the Bond fan on how the film makers were able to achieve these "eye-popping" stunts. This is nice because it also lets you experience Bond's missions in a different light as well. If you enjoy watching Ian Fleming's character race across the globe saving the world from destruction, then this is what you are looking for. I love this gift set all the way and I would recommend it to anyone who reads this review. I can't say enough how much I enjoy this gift set. I am especially looking forward to when the other two sets are released on DVD. This is an excellent gift set and it would make a great birthday/Christmas present to please that 007 fan in the home.

Summary: And you all call yourselves James Bond fans.
Review: I have read most of the reviews from other people. Those of you who complained about the sound or picture quality of Goldfinger and Live and Let Die...I have one thing to say. If they sound like they are still in mono it is because stereo was not widely used back then. I imagine if you get any movie originally recorded in mono on DVD it will still be in mono, only played through stereo channeling. I just don't think that those of you who complained about the set, for any reason, can truly call yourselves Bond fans. I am only 25 years old and I know and have seen every James Bond film ever made. No matter the picture or sound quality, for me just to have these movies preserved on DVD is good enough.

Review: A bit stupid that they dont have TWINE included in the last set! Its more that enough time to have it out on VHS and DVD. otherwise.... i guess its a great set!

Summary: A must for Bond fans
Review: The presentation of these DVDs is simply outstanding. The carping about the selection of titles seems a little silly. They're all coming out eventually, and it really does make more marketing sense to mix them up than to do it chronologically. The extras are great. Some of the bits from "Goldfinger" are almost worth the price of the DVD alone. There are two radio "interviews" with Sean Connery - the sort where the DJs pretend Sean is actually talking to them instead of canned responses to pre-written questions. The questions are presented with good humor, too - "So, Sean, enough of these softball questions. What sets 'Goldfinger' apart from the other Bond movies?" There are also some great production stills and candid shots. Where else can you see James Bond and Goldfinger in a fencing match using only golf clubs, or Oddjob riding a horse? It's a shame they left those scenes out of the movie....

Summary: Good Bond, bad DVD
Review: Goldfinger is a classic, a must see even after 35 years. The contents should be known to any Bond-Maniac. But leave this DVD in the shelves! I already wondered if my DVD players had broken down or the chips had melted somehow: such a poor transfer, such a lousy MPEG encoding and such an inadequate price (at least over here in good ol' Europe). The old VHS tape is far better! This is why the DVD deserves only one star. (The movie alone would have earned 5)

Summary: Bond rules
Review: A strange mix, but it does give you a good cross section of the stars. Connery is still seen as the best bond but in my mind Brosnon has had the best films and is close to my image of bond as an attractive, intellegent and slightly ruthless agent. None of these films are bad....the best are Goldeneye and Goldfinger. Nice picture and some great sound, also the extras are nice too.Shame there is no bundle of a dvd discussing the various bonds etc...maybe something for the complete set??
