Summary: What's wrong with this movie?
Review: How could a movie with a brilliant cast, a great soundtrack, beautiful scenery and exciting action end up being quite dissapointing. Easy. I don't know whose fault it is, but this movie can never decide if it wants to be a comedy or a drama and therefore fails at being both.

The movie begins with Heath Ledger taking the place of a knight in a joust. The crowd begins chanting "We will Rock You", and instantly you know this is going to be a different kind of movie.

I'm now prepared for a comedy, a different take on movies such as Gladiator and Robin Hood. Heath Ledger's friends (including a young Geoffrey Chaucer) provide a lot of the humor and keep the laughs coming.

Then the standard plot takes over with Ledger battling another knight for the affections of a girl (who is supposed to be some sort of royalty.) The girl ends up attending all of the jousts and Ledger wins her over. But the other knight is still his main rival and the movie concludes with them jousting to see who will win.

This part of the movie turns into a drama. Ledger returns to London to find his father and then people discover he isn't a knight. Nothing is played for laughs here, and the sentimentality goes overboard.

Then the final jousting scene occurs and it is nothing like the many scenes early in the movie. Nothing is done for laughs and there are no rousing intros by Chauser or crowds chanting modern day rock songs. Instead the focus is between Ledger and his rival Knight.

Somewhere about two thirds through the movie, it quit being funny and started being serious. The movie lost me there because I didn't want it to be serious. I wanted it to be clever and funny like the first parts of the movie.

Summary: The Best
Review: I saw this movie and LOVED IT!!!! It was the best ever. The soundtrack is really good too. The characters are well delveloped. In my opinion it is a football movie but with horses and lances. This is my all time favorite movie!

Summary: You're Not Going To Believe This, But ...
Review: My regular steady film companion, I couldn't convince my wife that A KNIGHT'S TALE was worth a single viewing in the theatres. So, when it made it 'round to the cheapie theatres, I went ... and I was mesmerized by this WONDERFUL tale, told lyrically as well as cinematically, of William, the boy who would be a knight, despite the obstacles of family heritage.

When it came out on DVD, I scarfed it up right away, and, one night whilst I was away at work, the wife finally succumbed to my praise of the film ... and now she's kicking herself that she never had the chance to experience it on the silver screen.

Heath Ledger is remarkable as William, the brazen but proper knight's aide who inadvertantly finds himself in the position he's dreamed of his entire youth ... to, in fact, be a knight himself.

With a soundtrack filled with hits from the 1970s (primarily), A KNIGHT'S TALE is an entertaining romp -- not necessarily historically accurate -- that will keep you coming back for more ... if for no better reason than to cheer on the hero!

Summary: Pleasant kids film
Review: This is a rather pleasant film set in a non existant fairy tale world. It features the Black Prince and Chaucer as characters but has nothing to do with history as we know it. The action takes place around jousting tournaments which give out large prizes. It is a sporting story transposed back into an ancient time.

Our hero is a peasant who after the unexpected death of his boss a real knight dons his armour to win a tournament. He decides to try to make a living out of it. He runs into Geoffery Chaucer who he pays to fake a aristocrat background. (Only the nobs can compete)

The main plot of the film is based around a rivalry between the hero played by Heath Ledger and a villian with a German name. Bound up in the rivalary over who is the best at jousting is a desire to wed the female lead.

The film is strange the way it interweaves pop music and jousting performances and the female lead who dresses in contempory clothing. Still the themes of the film, a work ethic is more important than where you are born, and its good to be loyal to family are harmless enough.

But its hard to take that a woman could be a blacksmith in the time period suggested or that the heroine would be allowed the indepandance that she is in this film.

Summary: Hilarious
Review: Anyone's imagination can run wild, so why not screw up the jousting world? Queen is one of my favorite bands, and if you think about it really hard " We Will Rock You" makes complete sense at a match.
For all you history freaks (including me ), stop all the hard-core facts and bring your nose out of the texbooks. " A Knight's Tale" still sticks to the real thing with the terrific exception of funny modern twists. Come on , who doesn't want to laugh at something as silly as this ? It would be a miracle if someone didn't laugh at all the whole movie. Say it's utterly ridiculous and that's the honest truth, but it's still a great film.

Summary: I bought this movie for my collection
Review: This is one movie you know you can watch again and again without getting stale. For it's wonderful actors in comedic and believable jousting action scenes are truely priceless - a Knight's Tale delivers the goods. I've never seen a movie like this one in regards to it's use of music. I like collecting Medieval & Dragon movies and this one goes well with DragonHeart and Dungeons and Dragons.

Summary: Good.
Review: I would say this movie is more of the old swashbuckler type. It's got lots of great heavy hitting action. but I would say it has a little too much of it. It almost seems like it's on repeat sometimes. But the action is great and if you want to watch a whole lot of it. I would say go for it! I really did enjoy the movie! It had a generally good story line. A little predictable, but well covered. At times I think the characters were hard to believe in, and the modern intrusions (Like some of the costumes and a lot of the music) could be annoying to some people. But I think most everybody should like this, and probably most people will really like it!

Summary: i love this movie!!
Review: o.k., i don't want to be like some people who fall all over this
movie and don't even make sense in their review but, i LOVE this
movie, for all the people out there that think that the music doesn't fit the time period, that is garbage! that is what
makes the movie one of the funniest movies i have ever seen.
the acting is excellent, the costumes are funky but awesome, the
bottom line is: this movie is #1! i'm sorry that i didn't
really say what the movie was about but i never liked reviews like that.

Review: The music in this one really puts you off the mood. Jousting and rock-n-roll just don't feel right together.
